Hi all!
I just have one simple question, I need to know what exactly the available user space is on the moto x (2013 of course) 32gb version, I'm asking this because I sold my old 16gb version and bought a new 32gb gsm developer edition and need to make sure everything is Ok with my phone's internal storage and I couldn't find anything on the web about the actual internal storage size of this phone (32gb model)
Thanks in advance for the help!
It was around 22-26gb available.

Ok, thanks for the answer but can you please tell me exactly what the number is under "total space" on your phone?
Thanks in advance!

I just ordered a 16gb class 4 micro SD. my phone is modded to cyan 6 RC2 (might be upgrading to RC3). it has not been activated yet so i have not downloaded any apps besides what is on it from previous owner if any at all besides what comes stock.
my question is what is on the 4gb card that I would need to transfer on to the 16gb or can I just pop in the new 16gb card? is the ROM on it? hidden files?
if there are stuff, how would I transfer it? I figure I would do this before I activate and have stuff on it like apps since it's probably simpler and faster to do while data is minimal on the cards if any at all.
thanks.
Well searching would be a good start. I just answered this on the 19th.

I did try searching using "swap sd card" before I posted my question and your post didn't pop up and any other posts that would helped me answer my question.
I've been on many different types of forums before and I definitely know to search before I post and potentially get flamed. I guess I just had the wrong key words....who knows....
thanks again though.
Hello I just start using the new Motorola Razr i, since 2007 I'm using iPhone, as many of you I'm mobile developer, so iOS 6 for me in this very moment is not very interesting, so I decided to change to Android and to motorola Razr i because I think is a good terminal with good materials.
Well what is my surprise when after 2 weeks I discover that Motorola Change the Path name of the internal storage to "sdcard" and the SD card to "external1" it would't be a problem but the 99% of the apps are programmed to download the data in "mnt/sdcard" so my internal memory is full, and the sdcard almost empty.
well I don't want to change it, I'm very happy with the moto, but this is terrible, 2 weeks no memory WTF??? I try everything links to the sdcard(internal memory) using bussyBox, doing it with terminal, try to rename directories everything, and well maybe we can make it works, but again WTF??? I change to android but this kind of things are a bit disappointed as a developer and as a user.
I ask you guys what do you think about this? is normal? some people say that is a "feature" well would be if the phone would be able to store the files in external1(real sd card) but Moto how you can think that the developers are gonna adapt the apps to be use with the partition logic that you implemented ?
anyway if this continue like this, I would give up with motorola, only because I need space in my phone only because of that.
thanks for your reply solutions or comments.
xopen.
SO?
So... mattlgroff are you happy with this? a mean you love this device, how you are gonna deal with this?

Thanks for your help

Theres a guy who made a script for just this purpose and he did it on the Galaxy S3, you could ask in there, it literally swapped the SD for the internal SD. Making my S3 a 64GB version usable for apps and the extra 16GB for whatever i wanted, i personally didn't need it.
I've Used Directory Bind... Though not all apps can be transferred, (mostly huge games can be transferred)

was answering the threadstarter.. :silly:
Hi,
I have a problem Xperia Z1 with accessing certain applications on the memory card-some me reports that it is not writable (for example, Titanium Backup), in Total Commander I can't create a new folder, and so on, but on the other hand, need the camera stores the photos on the card without any problems. Is there any solution to memory card available for all applications?
Just for completeness, I add that it is a card of SanDisk 64 GB microSDXC UHS-I and the phone I have ROM 14.3.0.757. Thank you for your advice.
If this has already been dealt with here, I apologize for starting a new topic, but I failed to find it
Yes, the solution still on XDA from long time ago. Just a bit of search and sure you will read about it.
This is what you are looking for

You can also google
KitKat sdcard changes
to see what the issue is, but the thread above will clear up your issue

Well, we are not here to hinder but to help
The user was not aware of the real problem so searching would not have been much help.
Notice I also told them where to find more information about the problem....

Of curse, I can't argue with that. You are more prepare logically to any event but if I have to remember any single thread on XDA I think I go crazy....
So,from what i understand there are models in the East that have 6gb of ram and then the rest of us have 4gb variants. Now what im curious about is this, are they exactly the same internally excepting for the ram difference or are there other differences? If they are exactly the same,is there not a way to add the extra 2gb of ram to a 4gb ram device?

@marcogiannetta,could you please explain why not? If the only difference between the two variants is only the extra ram. Why is it not possible to change it?

Because the RAM is solded on the motherboard, is not a modular component like on a PC.

Thank you,but could one not replace said soldering with the 6gb and solder that onto the board? Sorry, but im just trying to figure out if it isnt possible at all. I know one could replace the whole motherboard, but to do that, you could just as well have bought a phone with the 6gb ram already in it.

Isnt the whole point of XDA to ask questions and share developement etc of Android devices @Pandemic? I would much rather gather my info here where there are clever people like the Devs to explain things to you, instead of using Google. I did see the pm and have replied, thanks.
