Greetings -
Alright, I am INCREDIBLY confused.
I have an HTC Droid Incredible 2 on Verizon in the USA.
(Not yet rooted, in a few days I will)
I have read conflicting answers, and wish to settle this once and for all.
Do posts regarding the Incredible 2 (not "S", the twin brother) belong in the original HTC Incredible sub-forum or in the Incredible S sub-forum?
While the two devices, Incredible 2 and the European/Asian twin, Incredible S, are almost identical, there are some minor differences such as CDMA and another partition on the Incredible 2. Therefore, (from what I understand) development, such as ROMs, cannot be used for the twin device. There seems to be tons of development on the Incredible S...but not on the Incredible 2
Off topic, but if you know of a complete, fully functioning Sense 3.0 ROM for Incredible 2, please let me know.
Also, if someone is willing to take the time to make sure that I am doing the whole procedure (S-OFF with AlphaRevX Open Public Beta, and root, flash ClockworkMod, recovery, etc) correctly, PM me. Yes, I know there are dozens of guides, but it would help with my confidence in rooting. I am not a complete noob, I know how to use a computer, and once I get it I should be fine....
Thanks,
[::AP::]
Posts regarding the Droid Incredible 2 belong in the Droid Incredible 2 forum. There's a sub-forum dedicated to that device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1138
Likewise, the Incredible and Incredible S belong in their respective dedicated forums.
Hopefully I'm understanding your question correctly.
Woooooow. I feel so stupid.
Thanks for taking the time to post that - in your eyes I must look lazy, stupid, etc
(Excuse: Used CTRL+F to search for "HTC Incredible..." not "Verizon..." on the main page to find sub-forum.)
Anyways thanks. This can be closed, and/or deleted. Serves no use, not even for archival purposes.

Of course not, different forums have different layouts and it takes a little while to get used to. We were all new at one point or another.
Enjoy your stay at XDA!

I just got this phone due to a falling out with at&t. This forum has no q&a area so this is the best place I could find. I would greatly appreciate it if someone here would explain a bit about motorola for me as I've only deved htc for a few years. Is there anything you think is drastically different that I should know about. I will read everything I can from the other threads for motorola today before I start tearing into this one and start building and posting. Thanks to any devs who take their time to give me a head start. And is there any interest in a pure google feel rom for this phone?
I'm just thinking of getting such a HTC One, but I'm used to run CM-based ROMs without GAPPS on my older phones. Looking through this forum I see a lot of ROMs, but they all seem to be based on Stock or Google Play Edition ROMs which already include GAPPS?
Anyone here running his HTC One without GAPPS?
Any recommended ROMs with GAPPS as optional package?
while this is not a development thread you are looking on the wrong section you need to look here for what you want

Damned, that's what I feared, I had posted this in One Android Development, but a moderator has moved it here.
This is clearly a development related question, so I doubt I will get any useful answers here in One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.

Of course you are right, my apologies, I indeed completely overlooked that One Original Android Development is the section I was looking for, must have been confused by the word "Original", making me think it was about ROMs based on Stock.
Looks like CM 10.2 is the way to go, great stuff going on for that phone.

The One is a Fantastic device with a ton of development going on .. feel free to jump aboard
At this point I would steer clear of a CDMA version though

That shouldn't be a problem as I am in Europe here. Isn't CDMA a U.S. only thing?
I'm after one to three phones for me any my family, it's either the LG Optimum 4X HD or HTC One, which we get for free from our mobile phone provider depending on the plan we choose. Going with the LG would mean 1/3 the monthly price but the HTC One is just too tempting, after all it should last the next two years.
So since no one seems to be ranting or asking the question about this, then I guess I will. And here's why. I read earlier this past week that LG would be pushing the update for their G3. I figure with that news out there and the idea of tweaking it to work on the G2, that there would be at least a beta out there? I've looked everywhere and I haven't found anything. I'm not sure how hard an LG is to port versus an HTC but I know that there are ports from the One m7, One m8, and One Max that work on the DNA. Anyways, I'm not trying to *****. I'm just curious as to why there isn't anything out yet? I'm ready to test drive the new 5.0 and I don't really like the nexus devices, nor do I have the money to go buy one out right. I'm just really wondering if anyone is even working on this or waiting for it to hit and then will start working on it??
1. I don't think you're allowed to post questions in development forum, ROMs only.
2. The G3 update is not as easy to port as you think as we're missing a kernel. The problem is even more complicated with the Verizon model because we don't have a CDMA Nexus model to base it on. Porting to GSM model can use some help from the existing Nexus 5 kernel. That's what I think.
Well.. I believe that someone(s) is working on a port for the G2. I'm sure that since they're doing it for free and in their spare time, they will release one when they have a "Good, Safe to Flash" version. Since I'm not a developer of any sort and just a very grateful user of their work.. I will continue to wait patiently until they see fit to release it. If I get tired of waiting then I will probably learn how to make one myself. That way I can have it when I want it.

First and foremost, this is in the wrong section, as stated before. This is not a Q&A forums (see sticky) and at 100 posts, you should know this.
Tim from ose and reven from liquid smooth along with eight other people, two being members working on cm are building cm12 for us.
Twice now it has been leaked, resulting in two broken builds, and doing nothing more then pissing off the guys working on it. It will come when they have it stable.
What? There is no lollipop port for the dna.
Please note the sticky at the top of the Dev forum going forward...
Sticky: ★ ☆ ✰ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting do not go in the Development Section. ✰ ☆ ★
You know I get that everyone isn't trying to be rude about my posting in the wrong section but I'm sorry it came across rude. Yes I have 100 posts or more. However I didn't read the sticky at all because in my opinion of I or someone else should have a root question there isn't a real section for it that is easily noticed called Root: ask your questions here. So I'm personally going to go to the section labeled development and for my carrier and ask those questions. Maybe my brain is wired wrong in the way but to me it seems like common sense. Anyways, I'm done with my polite rant. I appreciate the responses for the information they gave me. I'll just sit back and wait I suppose. I could always play with stuff on my DNA.
@CoyotesFan4Evr
Yeah, I dunno. There's a general Q&A and a Verizon specific Q&A and you're asking a question, so I don't know why it doesn't click.
The reason why you don't ask questions here, is because it would bog the entire forum down with questions versus Roms, and this place is for roms.
I get why I shouldn't have asked my question here. That part clicks just fine mostly anyways. Where it run up on the issue is that it says general questions. I'm a member on another forum and you don't ask general questions about a rooted phone in a section like that. There is a section called all things root for that type of question asking. So I hope the logic of why I asked on this part of the forum makes sense. But for the future I won't post in the wrong section anymore.
Honestly dude just be patient. Some of the Nexus devices are only just now getting the update, and it's going to be a little while longer before we see anything. CM12 is being worked on and we'll get a G3 port a little while after Lollipop hits the G3. I'm foaming at the mouth for L just as much as anyone else, but these things take time.
If you really want to try it out, there's an early CM12 build in the regular Android development forum. It runs but has some bugs on all versions. It's really nice outside of that.
How do I enable WiFi?
Haha, just ****tin' you.
So, I've registered here because I'm thinking about buying a new phone (since that my old is irreparable at this point) and wanted to ask questions about some specific phones I researched as well as maybe get some recommendations, but I'm having trouble navigating the forum structure. Can anyone point me to the right sub-forum?
