Is there any option for voice activated camera shutter or would a bluetooth shutter remote work with moto G ?
I saw an article where saw someone wrote that the mPow iSnap available for about 10 bucks on Amazon works with the Moto G.

I currently have a galaxy s3 running Cyanogenmod 10.2.1 and I have ran into a very annoying problem. I bought a bluetooth headset in the hopes that I could press the call button and use google now to send text messages, calls, etc. However it works nothing like this at all, sure it will let me do that if the phone is unlocked, but if the screen is off and it is in my pocket the best I get is "voice dialer".
What I am wondering is if the Moto X is able to touchless control, through a bluetooth headset, while the device is locked? If so then I am sold on the phone. lol... Or should I wait for the X+1?

Agreed. I can touch my BT headset button with the phone locked and screen off and say 'call (wife's name)' and choose mobile, work, etc. No unlock necessary. BTW, I'm using a Moto H17 BT headset.
I upgraded a Verizon 2013 Moto X to the Verizon 2014 Moto X.
With the original Moto X, I activated OK Google Now - worked great. Installed the Google Experience Launcher. Still worked great.
With the 2014 Moto X, I activated the Ok Moto X - works great. Installed the Google Experience Launcher - still works great.
My problem is, when comparing the 2013 and 2014 Moto X's, when I turn on my bluetooth earbuds or start my car, when the bluetooth connects, the Blue Moto Voice app launches, waiting for my voice input. After a few seconds, my Play Music starts, as expected.
Is there any setting, etc (I've tried every combo I can think of) to prevent this from launching with a bluetooth connection.

Hi everybody,
I recently noticed that the Moto Voice activation doesn't works when my Moto X is connected to my Sony Smartwatch 3!
Is it just because of "OK Google" in my smarthwatch?
Am I the only one with this problem? There's a way to solve this issue?

Well I've tried turning off everything that had to deal with Google Voice and I still cannot get the Moto Camera to record video. Camera works fine, video just doesn't do anything.
So what is the best option for a replacement video recorder app?

Has anyone tried or been able to get an external 3.5mm microphone to work with the stock camera app? I'm thinking about getting one...
Such as the rode videomic.

I think internal mics ar doing great job, anyway.
I've recently got a Moto X4. I've got a 3.5mm external microphone I use on my previous Galaxy S6. I wouldn't work on the Moto X4 in the headphone port. So I then purchased a USB C to 3.5mm adapter. Just tried that and it still wont work. Maybe its the stock camera app that will only use the build in mic.
I've previously tried other camera apps, but you can't use the wide angle camera, so pointless for me.
I'm still stuck as I need an external mic when filming outside using a gimbal.
Did anyone get this to work? Got myself a DEITY v.lav and it's not working. Works on voice recorder but not on the stock camera app. Suggestions? Thank yoU!
