Does anyone know why the default HTC camera app takes videos with massive amounts of static? This has never happened with my phone until I flashed Android Revolution 12.1. My mic works perfectly fine, voice recording is fine, and videos taken with a 3rd party camera application do not have any static.
Bump in hopes of a solution.
Another bump. Still haven't found a solution.
Is there any option for voice activated camera shutter or would a bluetooth shutter remote work with moto G ?
I saw an article where saw someone wrote that the mPow iSnap available for about 10 bucks on Amazon works with the Moto G.
I'm planning to buy Sony STM10 external microphone and I see a lot of comments with problems with the not-so-old Nexus 5. Anyone has this external microphone and can confirm if it works? Anyone has another similar external microphone? I want to use it to record live shows
I answer myself. It works but not with Google's Camera app. However Cinema FV-5 works flawlessly

How did you flip the flipped image? All 3rd party apps have this issue.

I flipped later on my computer or via YouTube
That Sony STM10 has got five pins. The Nexus 5X takes a 5-pin jack instead of a 4-pin jack?
Edit: I have a LG Nexus 5X
I have the unlocked version of the note purchased from Best buy I'm on Verizon wireless. The problem I'm having is when I receive a video through MMS it seems I get the video and the audio in separate files. If I press the audio file it plays the audio just no video. If I press the picture it opens it as if we're a picture. Any ideas?

I'll test tomorrow and post back...
Sent from T-Mobile phone to T-Mobile phone
I did a 10 second video test recording from the camera whilst in the text app (google android messenger on the sending/source phone).
Sent this to the note 8 which is also on T-Mobile. I'm using textra. Audio and video came in normal. Not separate files.
Any luck with this? I am experiencing a similar issue on a different phone on Verizon.
One of the features I was waiting patiently for in Android 11 was Screen Recording and we finally got it. However on my Pixel 4 XL when I tick device audio option, there is no sound coming. I tested the device and mic option and I can only hear my voice. I tried 3rd party screen recorder and audio worked fine.
So anyone have an idea on what's happening?

Same issue. The mic audio seems to work fine, but device audio is doesn't record at all.
Working just fine for me. I've recorded Instagram live and YouTube videos. What app or apps have you guys tried to record? Maybe it's being blocked? It doesn't work for something like MLB app and baseball games.

I tried it with PowerAmp and Tasker. Device only and Device+Mic modes only ever had the mic recorded. I only heard device sound when noise canceling failed enough to sort of hear it. I didn't have any audio related Magisk module installed at the time.
As a side note, I was initially baffled as to why I was missing the QuickTile, then I read it is completely missing until you hide the QuickTiles of other screen recording apps... which is crazy.

I did some more testing, I tested sound from Poweramp and youtube, not working. However, sound from Whatsapp videos is working fine.
I read somewhere that this is due to DRM protection. But it's weird, Youtube works fine on my friend's iPhone screen recorder.
And now you are saying Youtube works fine for you so it's weird.

Maybe it's a location or video specific block? I just tested again and I recorded this video fine.

I don't think it's a location block to be honest. I tried recording the video you posted, same issue.
I can't imagine that Tasker playing a random WAV file is being blocked from recording for DRM reasons. The only way I can hear anything is when mic is enabled and the sound is loud enough to be heard by the mic on the other side of the phone. It helps when I use an audio stream that uses stereo so both sides of the phone play the sound. If mic recording is disabled, no audio is recorded in the video.

I guess the next step would be a factory reset.

Ya might as well. I've been having many issues since I upgraded to 11.
Hopefully it fixes the issue.
Ok I have a small update with good and bad news. The good news is after factory resetting my phone, youtube audio worked fine and everything seemed ok so it is not a DRM issue. the bad news is after rooting and installing Vanced, the audio stopped working again
I did some trial and error, uninstalled Vanced and used Youtube, same issue. I removed Viper4android, same thing
No idea what is causing this.
