I dont have a single one of these issues. I guess it depends just how much of a complainer you want to be. It's like complaining about a laptop you have without keeping things in perspective such as 10 years ago DESKTOP's were the rage. The person should calm down with the complaining and enjoy the phone...
I got some more to add.

My thoughts exactly! Especially number 17... that's a real disappointment.
Honestly, the only ones I can kinda agree with are the proximity/light sensor issues. It seems to be a bit slow when I pull it away from my ear when in direct sunlight. But, I know where the end button is so it's no big deal.

Yep same here, that's the only 'Issue' I have. If that's the worst thing I've to deal with I'll be a happy man

LoL this made my day
23. Name doesn't begin with the letter "i".
1) 3G connectivity issue
It was patched with Update1
2) Touch Screen unresponsiveness/sensing incorrect input
It happens occasionally, but can be fixed by turning the screen off then back on
3) unresponsive trackball
Haven't had this at all
4) WIFI connectivity issue
Some times it doesn't reconnect to wifi automatically
5) Lock button response issue
Haven't had this.
6) Proximity sensor sensitivity issue
Haven't had issues with this
7) Ambient light sensor issue
Haven't had any issues
8)bluetooth issues: fails to operate; inadequate volume; intermittent failure to accept commands
Haven't had this at all. Working beautifully for me.
9) speaker: horrible sound quality
Ha. Compared to 5.1 speakers maybe
10) ringer: insufficient volume
Thats what the volume up button is for
11) earpiece: insufficient volume
See answer to number 10
12) headset connector: headphones cord activates pause or other functions
I've only seen this happen with Pandora, but recently stopped doing this.
13) manufacturer says phone cannot go in pocket
Every manufacturer says you shouldnt put your phone in your pocket. This doesn't stop people from doing it. I keep mine in my pocket, (Always comes out nice and shiny. Go go Pocket Cleaner)
14) Phone mutes when calling people and can only be unmuted by turning mute on then off!
WTF... Haven't heard of this.
15) missed call notification trackball does not flash
Works great for me.
Someone really doesn't like Android. When you don't understand something, just hate on it right?

I noticed that people with android phones in general are far more happy and optimistic than any WM owners I've seen so far.. Maybe I'm just imagining thou =)
Wow Ill be the first one to say the nexus software has enough issues to push me to Apple but even I think that list is finicky. I think users need to at least wait for a couple of updates before giving up on the device. I guess it can't hurt to point out the issues but several of those listed really aren't even worth mentioning.
Edit: I just read the article, pretty harsh! While I've only had a couple of the issues listed I've had many other issues that aren't listed. My main frustration though, and I don't care how the iPhone compares here, is that almost all of the issues I have can be fixed ota but I've heard nothing from Google. The main problems on my end are that the touchscreen is jittery and the images lose quality when I touch the screen and the RAM isn't utilized properly. I have various other minor annoyances -(vkb, boring widgets, etc) and bugs -(random reboot, browser issues, lower effective resolution than advertised, etc) but they are almost all software related, which is a great thing. And if Google would just indicate a willingness or plan to fix my issues I could really relax. I really love all of the integration and Google apps so I'm going to wait and see what happens but at the very least Android needs to share some sort of plan of action. If they did this a lot if not all of the software complaints would cease.
P.S.- considering the iPhone's unimpressive though overdue software upgrades, unless the new iPhone has better resolution, dual mics, hd recording, and front facing camera, I'm not impressed.

I agree...
Well don't be so quick to dismiss the frustrated users. Some of the things on that list is petty although somewhat accurate i guess, speaker could be louder. I've also had an issue with cradling the phone against my shoulder as that seems to affect the quality of my voice and people complain i sound like i'm "in a tunnel" or far away. I'm guessing something with the noise canceling mic.
I've had the data connection issues which seems to just be a cell radio issue, probably hardware based with my replacement phone at least. I had my old phone replaced because it just did not want to connect via data or whatever for 5-20 seconds all the way up to 2 or 3 minutes. The up arrow on the 3g without any data coming back down issue. Whenever I did a speed test.. upload sometimes would be horrible and it would be really choppy (doing the speedtest.net one) compared to the download. By choppy i mean the meter would jump to different values (it wasn't smooth and consistent like the download) and sometimes it would just stop as would the data indicator lights. It was always around 100-500 kbps averaging around 300. Same behavior for both the original and the RMA.
With the replacement one that i've had for a couple of weeks that issue turned into a much larger one. It started when I wasn't able to make outbound calls so i turned off my phone and turned it back on again to get the x with four blank bars at the top. Re-registered on the network... seemed to work ok for awhile. Then the same thing but started getting a "sim card isn't valid for this network" error when trying to re-register my phone after again starting to randomly show me an x with 4 blank bars at the top. Hard resetting and soft resetting didn't fix it. Sometimes it'd give me an error even searching for them. When i first got the problem it was brief.. but i figured i should get my sim card replaced. So i did. 3-4 days later I wasn't able to get it to work for almost 3 hours.. on my way to the tmobile store it just went from x with 4 bars to 4 full bars and then finally the 3g indicator to the left of that came on. Turned around cause I really didn't have the time to figure out what it was about at that moment. Data worked, could make a phone call. Next day it just got worse to the point now where it wont' search for a network sometimes.. gives me an error after sometime.. and definitely won't register on the network. I also had airplane mode turned on automatically after a soft reset (despite it showing an x and 4 bars and not an airplane)wasn't able to turn it off via the android menu settings. Had to go into the service menu and press turn radio on button.
WIFI still works however.. but that's a separate chip from the cell radio chip and its has just wifi/bluetooth on it so that makes sense.
I've had tmobile double and tripple check everything, network cancellation, sim replacement, check the towers nearby, make sure my plan is setup correctly for my phone. I'm going with poor build quality on some of these and bad quality checking... I guess time will tell. Getting my swap on monday... car dock arrived today and is just sitting on my desk.
3G connection
I have had my Nexus One for a week now...... My area has only had T-Mobile 3G coverage for about a month... At the T-Mobile store all their phones have full 3G service and my Nexus was on Edge only... The HD2 Demo in the store had full bars of 3G and my phone was just pushing out Edge... It flipped to 1 and 2 bars of 3G a couple of times but reverted back to Edge... At home I can set it on my desk or coffee table and set up the screen to stay on for 30 minutes and with out moving the phone watch it flip between 3 bars of 3G to 4 bars of Edge and it does this constantly... Even if I go outside and in my yard set it down and just watch it switch back and forth between Edge and 3G.... The girl next door has the My Touch 3G and she has full 3G service on her phone it never flips between Edge and 3G but the Nexus One does... The day I got it and hooked it up the phone rebooted and loaded the latest firmware and it did this twice.. if I look for manual updates for the phone it says it has the latest software. have not had any of the other issues being posted on here. I have followed some suggestions to go to the settings, networks, mobile networks, network operators and then select automatically (Which was a fix I read about from another post) still no help.. Still flips back and forth between edge and 3G.... How can another phone (The HD2 which I purchased and returned after a week... Windows Mobile is horrible even with sense layered over it) have no problem keeping a 3G signal but the Nexus one continues to drop the signal? Not sure if maybe I got a bad unit and it needs to be exchanged???? Any suggestions on the 3G problem? other than that the phone has been amazing.. I love the stock android 2.1 OS.... the Camera is pretty awesome for a phone...
@Robbie317 Post on the nexus one forums and call them up as well and tell them exactly what you posted here. Personally I'd recommend against an RMA until another update comes back cause who knows what issues the next one can give you if you do a swap... and unless you can wait 1-2 weeks for the same phone to come back to you from a repair I'd wait it out for and update and just ***** on the nexus one tech support forums and calling them. Say what you said here. Hell call them in the store at t-mobile. Take a picture of your bars on your phone next to an HD2. I think its important to get the point across to them as clearly as possible. I'm sure they're aware of most of these issues though.
Also it seems my phone is working again now.. weird and annoying stuff. I filed an FTC complain. Might seem excessive but I looked over those support forums alot today. This is not an isolated issue that is just affecting a small minority of phones that slipped passed quality control. It's also not an issue with t-mobile because they are people who are complaining about the same issues I've had (that got worse over the last 2 weeks) and have AT&T. RYGUY asked for more info in one post to look into the issues being reported so I'm glad they're doing *something* but its definitely not enough. I'm just hoping its not a hardware or design defect in the phone.

This is the main reason I'm returning mine.
I contacted HTC support a couple of weeks ago by telephone concerning the removal of the configuration switch to allow the phone to stay awake when connected to external power.
They confirmed it was removed after version 1.29 but were confused as to why because, like me, they thought it was a bad move.
They asked me to do a written ticket via the support site, so I duly logged the query.
After a few messages back and forth as HTC collected information from me such as every version, serial, model number, telephone number, post code, hat size etc. I got a reply saying the configuration was removed to avoid screen burn.
I returned to them asking if this was an HTC One problem because my previous HTC HD phones had all been used on desktop docks and Car docks for extended times without screen burn. I also enquired why the CAR application was still on the One, as this application, like some music applications keeps the phone awake.
I was palmed off with hog wash replies but was tenacious asking for an answers to my points raised.
My audacity to request explanations appears to be unnaceptable and I received the following reply from HTC Technical Support..
QUOTE>
Thank you for contacting HTC.
As already said, the function has been removed on HTC One to prevent screen burn.
That is no if or but about that.
It is so.
That is a fact,.
If you want the function back, you have apps to download from Google Play.
<ENDQUOTE
Translating from Englasia I think this basically means..
Listen Pin Head, stop bothering us for explanations, there is no if's or but's, now P*** off and annoy someone else.
Well I admit I was a bit unhappy with the resolution that was offered, however, having visited Google play I cannot find any applications that sense remote power to keep the phone awake.
So I am now even more dissappointed with my expensive HTC One that every day seems to do less than I hoped.
Has any one out there got screen burn on the One?
I would have though the extremely "contrasty" CAR application would be a definate candidate to leave Screen Burn as it does keep the display on, so maybe some one has experienced the problem?
Perhaps some one knows of an application that does keep the phne awake by sensing remote power?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Regards
No screen burn on these displays, you can turn it back on with Sense 5 Toolbox, but requires xposed mod and root.
You might want to try Tasker to increase the display timeout when plugged in and decrease when unplugged.

Hi,
I hesitate to go down the 'xposed mod and root' because I have not got the faintest idea what this is, and that shows that I do not have the technical capabilities to undertake the "rooting" stuff.
I will try the Tasker idea.
Thanks for your attention.

Thoughts on it, display in sunlight, battery life, handling of notifications, look/feel of it on your wrist..... basically anything to do with the watch!
i like it. granted that its a new class of its own, i still get confused especially when i get multiple notifications on an app (ie hangouts). its confusing where the group text starts or if im still being shown a private text..
the screen is kinda hard to read in direct sunlight but tilting it a bit or using a different watch face helps.
i like the feel of it.. i preferred this over the g watch coz of the added feature and the look.
I really like it; however, screen is difficult to see in sunlight at times; screen is also a smudge magnet which adds to difficulties in seeing the display outdoors.
Love it - compared to the sony smartwatch and the Galaxy Gear it really has great improvements. Only Day 2, but my initial thoughts:
Pros
- Look/feel - it is little large (I don't have big wrists) but still stylish.
- Screen: awesome that the clock is always on, this was my biggest gripe about the Gear
- Usefulness: I've spent time training Google Now, and that's really paid off. Notifications mean i take my phone out of my pocket a lot less, and Google Now surfaces reminders and other useful info pretty well (although you don't have a lot of control over the order of notifications etc). The fact that it syncs dismissed notifications on the phone immediately is, in a word, awesome
- Apps: early days yet on this, but most big apps I'm sure will integrate so you can do the key features easily
- Voice recognition works great so far
Cons
- No speaker means if you want to do stuff without looking at the screen with your voice, it's harder. But seems like something I can live with
- Charging dongle is kinda annoying to fit on, and have to remember to travel with
- Starting an app (say Fit) takes a few too many swipes (if you're in a place where you don't want to be speaking to your wrist...)
A lot of the other potential "cons" like not many watch face designs, no feature to locate your phone (I know there's an app for this though) I reckon will play out over time and Google can fix pretty quickly...

Take a look at this one for that: Wear Aware
i'm pleasantly surprised with how much i'm enjoying it.
my first full day with it will be tomorrow so i haven't taken it outside in the sunlight much yet, but checking email, counting steps, reading and replying to texts (i use evolve and it works great) is great and much more reliable and smoother than it was on my OG gear, and it's proving to be far more useful than my pebble.
the strap is actually quite comfortable and i'm glad i didn't buy a new strap before getting the watch.
the charging cradle, if you put it on tab side first it snaps in much easier. it's annoying but i haven't found it to be the spawn of lucifer as some people were screaming about it. treat it like part of a $200 gadget and it will be fine. mash it on like the hulk and it's going to break, it is plastic tabs after all.
i used it for about 7 hours today and it's now around 65% remaining. moderate use, but i def was clicking and swiping for no reason since it's new as well. i am pretty sure i'll have to charge it every night, but i don't sleep with a watch on and i charge my phone every night too, so i don't see it as being a big issue. my pebble lasted longer, but it would often die since i didn't have a set pattern on when to charge and would head out and a few hours later realize i had 20% left.
so in short, i'm happy, yes there are growing pains but those are the early adopter blues.
So far very please for what it can do. Regarding bot visible in sunlight, tell me what phone is visible in sunlight. None of them are great, only the kinfpdle due to the ink screen it has. I can wait till indoors or in shade. 9 more days testing and then deciding to keep or not. Off charging cradle at 6:30am today and as of this post still has 34% left. About the same as my previous Gear watch.
Ian B
The number of apps pouring in each day are a great sign for the platform as a whole. The Tizen gears were nothing like this.
Quick reply.... I like it. Had Nero, no comparison.
I've had a few issues and design factors that I'd like changed:
Hate the alarm mute icon. I would love to figure out a way to hide that on the clock face. Would make the watch look more watchie if you will.
Also would like to only wake the watch from the button vice touchscreen, or atleast an option to set that insettings.

This really made me LOL
I'll be the lone wolf in the wilderness by bucking the trend and saying that I'm very disappointed with my Gear Live. I'm a gadget lover and really wanted to love this device. But I was far more enthusiastic about this thing before I actually received it. Once I had one, I quickly grew disappointed with it.
Out of the box, pairing with my Nexus 5 took multiple attempts. Once I finally did get it paired, only the stock apps would work. Any apps that I downloaded from the Play store would run on my phone but the watch interface would never show up (no matter how many times I tried to force the apps to sync via the Android Wear app or rebooted the watch).
Factory resetting the watch and starting again cleared up that problem but I still found the functionality of the watch to be quirky at best. Add to that the fact that the screen is virtually impossible to read outdoors, the lack of support for continuous heart rate monitoring, and the sudden dramatic drop in my Nexus 5's battery life (which cleared up after I uninstalled the Android Wear app).
Bottom line for me is that this isn't ready to replace my old fashioned watch. So until I read about some new killer Wear app that I can't live without, the Gear Live had gone back into its box to be stored away. I'm hoping that the software will mature quickly to a point where I can give it another try.
Does gear live suport sleep monitoring? Can it automatically figure out that user is cycling?
How good is the fitness tracking on it?

Seems I'm late to the party here as this forum may not have a lot of regular posters (save for the development thread that got an immediate answer this morning, which was awesome!)
Does anyone wear their Urbane (or any other smart watch) on the inside of their wrist? I've always worn my watches like this, to the point where it feels weird if I wear it on top.
Not as concerned with waking it up when I turn my wrist (though that would be awesome if I could figure that out), just wondering if I'm alone. Did a Google search and I found a couple of reddit posts on the Moto 360 being worn this way, but that's it.
Am I in danger of things like the step counter not functioning right? Has anyone figured out how to get the wake gestures working when it's worn this way? If not, that's fine. I can tap with no problems, just curious more than anything.
Really liking this watch so far. Next up will be a new band, I'm sure (after I get done messing with the faces, that is).
Hello all
I have purchased a Mini and a regular Ghome around Christmas last year . They have been working fantastically as far as recognizing commands and such.
Hue lights, Spotify music ...etc
The only problem that I have had was not being able to open Netflix on my Android TV(Sony) although it works with a Chromecast. Nobody was able to explain why, but I could live with that
Recently (past 2 months or so) the voice recognition got so bad to the point that I would go and grab my phone and do whatever command I wanted (mostly turning on and off the lights).
Unlike initially when I could say it across the room (Hey Google turn the bedroom lights off) , now it keeps on saying "Sorry I cannot help with that" and so on. Or it would be picking up a totally random word and screw up the whole sentence. I have not changed anything in my setup, i have reset the bejesus out of all my equipment with no luck.
It became so frustrating but what is even more frustrating is that I have no clue what caused it.
Tried closer, literally yelling from right above it with no success. It would take it let's say, out of 10 attempts maybe 2 will be going through, unless I get pissed and drop it altogether. This is happening on both the Mini and the "big" Ghome.
Has anyone experienced the same issues with their devices lately? If yes have you guys been able to fix it or it's just one of the Google screwups that will be fixed whenever will be fixed?
The Google reps when chatting are useless and keep giving me useless troubleshooting steps that I have already done.
Funny thing is that if I say the same commands to my phone it takes it right away .
Thank you for your input

Hmm, I have about the same, but no fix here either. The timeline sounds about right too, about 2 months or so. Same with my Hue lights. I don't have my Hue account hooked up in my Home app since Goog Voice is supposed to work natively with Hue lights with a bridge. I was thinking of maybe adding my Hue account into my Home app and see if that helps. Haven't quite gotten to it yet.
Same here
Voice Recognition
Yes it's true as the time pass by the voice recognition is getting worse recently when i said to turn off the light of my room it did but after saying 3 - 4 times but now it turn off the entire light of my house.
Google home not performing
I have used the home during 2017 and it was very good in picking up what I say. During 2018 the hearing abilities has been very effected and hard reset and starting over did not solve it.
I moved mine to the end table at like 3ft off the ground it's Mic being on top hear much better now. No more telling or repeating myself
Sounds very familiar. Especially my wife has been getting tantrums because GH doesn't understand her. (Insert joke about not understanding wife)
