can t boot to recovery
please some help here
i was thinking 3 solutions.
unlocking the bootloader but how?
waiting for Lollipop img
or calling Motorola to unlock the bl
thank u

why would you relock your bootloader?
solution its simple, if you dont want to unlock it again, use rsd lite 6.2.9 and flash the firmware from the country of your moto maxx, if its a mexican moto maxx flash mexico ,if its puerto rico, PR or if its brasil, then brasil. you can flash them, those are flasheable with locked bootloader because they are signed, just the one where your phone was

Please don't do that, lollipop it's supposed to install via recovery and not thru fastboot, please check that you downloaded the retail version of your Moto maxx and not carrier one.

You had 4.4.2 on your phone, I'm betting the "stock rom" you had then tried flashing was 4.4 or lower.
As danger2u said, the first thing you'll want to try is to flash the ROM for your phone. Since you had 4.4.2 on there, you'll need to find the 4.4.2 SBF for your carrier (I don't see american movil mx listed on -> http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0 ), and flash it.
If that doesn't work, you'll want to see this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/tut-resurrecting-bricked-moto-x-corrupt-t2629057 It too requires you have the correct ROM for your device
If you manage to get it working.. DO NOT DOWNGRADE YOUR ROM!!!!! (i.e. once on 4.4.2 do NOT flash 4.4 or below!!!!)

No. If you received 4.4.2 OTA... you need to flash 4.4.2. do NOT flash 4.4.
Due to changes in 4.4.2, you either will brick, or set yourself up to brick if you try to downgrade your rom version... i.e. 4.4.2 -> 4.4 will brick or set you up for it.
Were you running an ATT ROM on your phone? or something else?

I'm wrong, i wanted to write 4.4.2. I was running my stock rom, america movil 4.2.2, recivied the OTA for 4.4.2, in the page of firmwares i can´t find the firmware for america movil 4.4.2, probabbly it doesn´t exist, so, can i flash the rom for the at&t XT1058, then i got the modem for my carrier flashed?

I don't know the differences in the ATT Rom vs America Movil... I know the ATT rom has a lot of bloat.
I don't think the ATT 4.4.2 SBF was leaked yet (it wasn't when i looked earlier)...

If you downgraded and then took an ota, that usually leads to a brick. Read the thread kid Joe posted and hopefully you can recover.
Good luck!
Oh, and as said....the best moto x advice there is, is once on 4.4.2.....stay on 4.4.2. Unfortunately.
Sent from my N5, N7, Moto X, G Tab 3 or S2.....

Past or attach the XML which is inside the SBF you are using. We'll help you convert it to the correct series of mFastboot commands.

Is that the exact 4.4.2 ROM that was on your phone originally? If not, there is a chance this still might not fix you...
Its extremely similar to what @danger2u has already posted.
(based on Moto's web site and the XML you posted) after unzipping the "CLARO-BR_GHOST..." SBF, you'd want to try the following commands from the folder where you unzipped the SFB after booting the phone to fastboot/bootloader mode....
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot reboot-bootloader
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
mfastboot erase customize
mfastboot erase clogo
mfastboot reboot
NOTE: by Mfastboot, I mean the Moto modified version of fastboot, not the one that comes with the standard Android SDK/Platform Tools. The moto modified Fastboot.exe can sometimes be found in a windows folder inside an SBF, or you can download from -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/X-STUFF/Mfastboot-4.4.zip

[Q] XT1092 Stock?

Hello everyone,
i have a XT1092. I am rooted. I heard that I would not be receiving the OTA or getting it to work if I have a custom recovery installed. That is apparently correct as I had a small 12mb update today and I have not been able to flash it . The phone got stuck in a boot loop. Anyways, I am out of the loop now and all is good. I just want to know how do i revert to stock recovery? I am on stock room but the phone is rooted with twrp installed. So do I just need to flash the stock recovery image, if yes then how? or do i need to flash the stock rom all over again, again if yes then please guide me with the same.
Also, can I flash XT1095 images on my device?
Thank you

I do have the exact same problem. I had to do a fullwipe to get out of the bootloop.
PLS help us out guys! I also need to get the stock recovery back for upcoming updates.
This is what i did to take the 12 mb update
Just flash these commands in fastboot
$ fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
$ fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
$ fastboot reboot-bootloader
$ fastboot flash logo logo.bin
$ fastboot flash boot boot.img
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

$ fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
$ fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
$ fastboot erase modemst1
$ fastboot erase modemst2
$ fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
$ fastboot reboot
You also have the option to erase all the data on your device with
$ fastboot erase userdata
$ fastboot erase cache
Just make sure that you type each command one by one
if you update to xt1095 you have to be careful when u downgrade, u might brick your device
While downgrading dont flash the below 3 commands
$ fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
$ fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
$ fastboot reboot-bootloader

awesome. also what if i flash xt1095's image? would that be any beneficial? I guess itll help me get quicker updates. No?
there is a thread where it helps people who want to convert their xt1092 to xt1095.
But be careful when to change to xt1095 you have to backup your radio, since xt 1095 has different radio to ours.
There have been some people complaining about bricking their device while downgrading
Please check and only do it if your really comfortable with flashing

Motorola has the blankflash files, we do not have them. They WILL NOT release them. They never have released blankflash files nor will they ever do it in the future. We may get it someday only if it leaks.
So ONLY motorola can fix this.

Turbo firmware?

Hello need help tracking down stock turbo firmware. The Motofirmware website (http://motofirmware.center/files/category/23-droid-turbo/downloads) are corrupted. The links in this thread are all dead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/general/quark-stock-firmware-moto-maxx-droid-t3063470. Does anyone know of another source for stock 5.1?

Are you using RSDlite? If so, you're getting this error (I think) because the PRODUCT_CONFIGURATION.xml file has instructions for other phone models besides the Turbo in it. If I remember correctly, I got around this by deleting the info for everything not labeled QUARK_VERIZON in this file. However, since RSDlite basically just automates fastboot, a better option is to use fastboot to flash this firmware, in my opinion.
If you decide to flash the firmware this way, place all of the files from the full firmware into the directory that you installed fastboot, and enter the following commands after your phone is plugged into your computer in bootloader mode:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot bootloader.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk3
<repeat until all sparsechunks are flashed>
fastboot erase ddr
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata (NOTE: this command effectively performs a factory reset, and will erase all of your data)
Then boot, and you will have done everything that RSDlite would have done.
Oh thanks. Good info. Is there a write up on using fastboot anywhere? These forums are pretty poorly maintained and no good stickies anywhere
Edit: Oh, you edited your post. Awesome. Thanks.
The root junky fxz is that for rsd lite when I look at the contents the system image is in several sections and says system.img sparsechunk and has 10 sections. I have never seen this in an fxz. Is this a new way of flashing the system image.

Wouldn't that lock the bootloader?
Is it even possible to re-lock?
From what I understand he wants to avoid locking the bootloader...
Edit: nevermind I looked it up... Should have just done that the first time... ("I have seen quite of few people screw up their devices by not knowing what they are doing. So I am making this thread to simply tell people not familiar with fastboot what they should and should not do.
Fastboot oem unlock will unlock your bootloader and do a complete wipe of your device. As far as I know the only way for something to go wrong here is if you're device is low on battery and shuts off during the process. Either plug it in or have a "good" amount of juice left in your battery. To be 100 percent sure plug it in.
Before I get into oem lock IMHO you should only use this command for one thing only. Getting the device ready to send into motorola for the LGT upgrade or a another warranty repair or some sort. When done properly it is completely safe but there is no reason to do to go back to "stock".
Fastboot oem lock. Do not issue this command unless you are absolutely sure you have the correct software on your device. The correct software is what you get from the motodev site for your device. You need the official sofware images for your specific device AND REGION. If it is not released then DO NOT re-lock the device. If you have a OTA installed you will need to flash back to the motodev images first.")

No, that is the actual bootloader. The code that manages device startup, takes fastboot commands, and prohibits unsigned images from booting (when locked).
The splash screen is flashed with:

Help needed: Transform XT1095 into XT1097

Hi all!
Early this year I transformed XT1097 RT Brasil into XT1095 because this one received Android 5.1 before and because I thought that the XT1095 being the Pure version for US was the one that would receive the updates before anybody else.
Well......I was totally wrong. XT1095 hasn't even received the soak 6.0 yet and the XT1097 from Brasil and Mexico, and the Europeans already are enjoying Marshmallow.
So what I want to do is to go back to the 5.1 XT1097 RT Brasil. Searching the web I came with this very easy tutorial but I'm not sure if I will brick my phone since I'm quiet a noob. Please can you let me know if I can do this tutorial safely?: http://motox-brasil.blogspot.cl/2015/06/firmware-motox2-xt1097-firmware-retail.html
Thanks so much in advance.
Cheers!

I'm on Win 10 x64; you should install the usb drivers from Motorola so that they show up in Windows Device Manager under "Android Device" at the top (Motorola ADB Interface). My phone does show as connected in Bootloader Mode.
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
I have no experience with RSD Lite, so I can't say. Usually bricking happens when you try to downgrade gpt.bin and motoboot.img, or try to flash an incompatible firmware, which is not the case here.
I hope someone else with RSD Lite experience can better help.

Read more carefully, he has the xt1097 from Brazil. The xt1097 from at&t can't be unlocked nor rooted. However the xt1097 from Canada, Chile, Brazil, Peru, etc can all be unlocked and rooted.
It is ONLY the AT&T in the USA which is locked and can't be unlocked.

Correct. I have the XT1097 from Chile (originally) not Brasil I transformed first to XT1097 RETBR to get 5.0, then the XT1095 got if first, so I transformed it to XT1095. And now with 6.0 since the Pure is not even in soak yet I transformed it to XT1097 RETBR again

You please guide me how I can install using fastboot on my windows PC. I don't care about CDMA, it should work on GSM networks 2G and UMTS 3G and LTE because now I am in UAE and not using Verizon.

Great sir, I followed your instructions and I successfully upgraded my moto x2 xt 1096 (5.1) to official 6.0 xt1092 without any trouble or changing my recovery or any thing else. Thanks for your help.
one thing is when I restart my device one warning screen appear like (your device's bootloader is unlocked and some more cautions) and moto boot animation is changed. Is it possible to get rid from these by simply re locking bootloader by fastboot command....... "fastboot oem lock"
Or after changing firmware it's not possible to re lock it simply myself or any other code is required.
And one more question can i later install other update like 6.0.1 if it is available in same way or will you upload any future updated firmware in same location MEGA from where I downloaded earlier.
And will I get any future OTA from Motorola i.e. 6.0.1 or higher and should I install that OTA if arrives, or not?
I will wait for your reply. Thank again

Yes, when you unlock your bootloader, the boot logo changes to the warning logo, and the boot animation was changed by Motorola for 6.0.
You should be able to relock the bootloader by "fastboot oem lock". You can also flash a different boot logo and animation, but then the phone will not be pure stock anymore.
Because you flashed pure stock firmware, you should get System updates for XT1092 when they are released by Motorola, you don't need to reflash the full firmware.
The factory firmwares on MEGA are not mine, but thank you to whoever is uploading them there.

Thanks dear Sir for your guidance.
So it mean if I re lock the bootloader by entering command "fastboot oem lock", then I can install future OTA update if it arrives for xt1092 without bricking my device? Or my device has official stock but hybrid firmware or some parts of firmware. (xt1096 +xt1092) and may brick while installing official motorola OTAs? Or now it is 100% pure xt1092.?
This is last request And I don't wat to waste your time any more because you already given your precious time to me.
Thanks again for your guidance.

1) You don't need to lock the bootloader to receive ota updates. Updates work with the bootloader unlocked.
2) Don't worry about updates, Motorola said marshmallow 6.0 is the last update this phone gets. There will not be anymore OTA updates.

Hi sir I tried to re lock the bootloader by entering command " fastboot oem lock " and failed as........
..... (bootloader) FAIL: please run fastboot oem lock begin first!
(bootloader) sst lock failure!
Then I entered... fastboot oem lock begin
and returnd string is follow
.... ( bootloader ) ready to flash signed images
Then I can't understand what to do now.?
And an other thing when I connect my phone to PC it is still recognise and mention it's name XT 1096 however I installed firmware of XT 1092 and every thing inside is totally new corresponding to 6.0 and is XT 1092.
Is there any thing wrong, or its bootloader could be re locked. Or I should repeat the whole flashing process and at last befor entering "fastboot reboot", I should try fastboot oem lock. Is that maters or not before rebooting first time, or should I re flash the boot.img now to lock the bootloader or it is more difficult to do or it is impossible. Any idea or help or any other link please.

Yes sure, follow the instructions in first page of this thread given by Gus Ghanem and say thanks to XDA developer team and their members
---------- Post added at 02:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:15 PM ----------
There is also a MEGA link to download stock marshmallow 6.0 firmwares
---------- Post added at 02:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:19 PM ----------
But only proceed to flash marshmallow 6.0 firmwares if you are not using Verizon network because you will loose CDMA but you can use GSM and UMTS networks

Hi,
i just got brand new unused Moto X 2nd gen (2014), It has 4.4 Android on it, but OTA update does not want to work anymore, as of 15.1.2020.
It is unlocked XT1095.
I am looking for somebody to help me over Skype to update it to 5.1 and then to 6.0 - the way usual update would go, and would donate to you via PayPal.
