Speaker differences top vs.bottom - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A while ago I noticed, that the speakers are not giving out the same output when listening to music. The top speaker's output is more thin and has more treble, while the bottom speaker has more bass. This would not be an issue, if the top speaker would not cause issues (resonate, crackle) on certain ringtones/music when played loud.
After reading some users' experiences I found out, that for some the top speaker has more bass, for others the bottom one, but never the same output.
My questions are:
How are your speakers?
Is it possible to somehow balance the difference between the two?

So i presume, I'm the only one

They are fine on mine.

So both speakers give out the same audio quality? Good for you. I mean if I cover them each, and the audio is different (as described).

@davebugyi, I don't notice any difference either - I don't know how you could fix it but maybe @pricey2009's multi mod is a workaround?

Maybe it depends on the kind of song you are playing? It actually is fine on mine.

I have the same issue, did you find any fix for this? as the ringtone and loud speaker call only plays in the bottom speaker and its too low to hear very annoying.
whats your model number? mine is Z3C D5833
thanks

Unfortunately I did not find any solution, as it was pointed out by many people - it may be due to the hardware differences between units.
I already sold the device to my friend and moved on to the OPO.

I'm having issues too. When I do a factory reset the bottom speaker works fine but after a few days it will stop working. I specifically did a restore and didn't change any settings to see if it would stick but it stopped working again. Since it's the bottom speaker I can't user speaker phone during calls.

Mine is Bass at the bottom, treble at the top. Although the volume sounds equal. I think it's a feature not a Bug. A balance.

It's not a feature. Only a idiot would create a feature like that. Come to think of it, Sony mobile dept is just a lame bunch of retards. I got mine from the first batch and the touch panel on mine is a pos (touch grids are visible) and deltaE of the display deviates so far off. It's the worst IPS display I've seen in my whole life. Somehow the display on my friend's Z3C is much better (no visible touch grids pattern) but hers has battery drain and flap problems. I got mine on Sept last year and she got hers last month. I guess mine and hers are from different batches.
I can't believe a reputable company like Sony would pull a dirty scheme like this just to save a few bucks. F Sony. They don't give a crap about their customers. I'm ditching these idiots.
@davebugyi have you tried this?

Battery drain could be caused by apps and software bugs, don't jump to conclusions on "battery drain", mine last 6 hours on 3G continuous usage, normal usage, 15 hours +. Flaps? My phone passes the pressure test, but water keeps on getting in from the USB/SD flap, every time I put it in the water. I scrutinised each and every centimetre of the phone. Only possible point of entry for the water is through the flap, I'm guessing it's defective. Too busy to get a replacement part, but I'll soon, install a new flap, SHOULD fix the issue. There are tons of other software/hardware bugs on all Sony Z devices reported by thousands of users. This is the last Sony phone I buy. The next time, it'll be HTC or LG.
By the way the next best brand would be Meizu, they are partners with Sony and they make phones better than Sony.

anyone can help me modify mixer_paths.xml or mixer_paths_auxpcm.xml or TFA98xx or somethings else to make balance on both speakers? thank

Speaker Issues

So...... the internal speakers on the nexus 7 are not great. Well, IS not great. It's not even stereo with only one at the bottom making watching movies on landscape makes the sound comes only from left or right.
but anybody else experiencing cracking/breaking/distorted audio if the volume is higher than 75%?
ive never used it more than 50% coz i almost always use it at home and i have a 2-mth old baby. but yesterday i'd like to show my wife how cool the free Transformers movie is and i cranked the volume up just to be horrified by the distorted sound, not unlike coming from a cheap $10 speakers.
should i return it?
should i ignore it and just keep it under 50% for movies or plug in a nice dock/speakers?
should i attempt to fix it? :silly:
i just fear returning it as everything else with the tablet is great, and with the amount of threads here with faulty Nexus, i felt like im risking it too much.

If you haven't shipped it off yet, use your fingernails or a guitar pick or something otherwise soft (not metal), thin, and flat, and open the case. Not sure if there's a specific place that's easier, I just went around and around until I got it to pop. Look at the FixIt breakdown if you want to see more details. It took about 3 minutes once I got it started, and that was taking my time. It's a little more firm than a phone battery cover, but not by much.
Once you get the back off, figure out which speaker is "blown" and lightly press into it. If it's "crunchy" feeling, gently work it around the edges with your finger until it either pops in place or stops "crunching". I went around the edges a few times just in case.
Been a week and my N7 sounds fine again. I have the full expectation that this isn't fixed and it'll recur, but I also doubt it's fixed in any newer hardware either, so why go through the trouble of replacing the device.

Looks like Noozy got taken down because it was a modified redistribution of an older build of ZPlayer, without permission. Not sure if that's where Rewire came from too or not, but maybe the whole developer got kicked off.
Edit: Rewire seems to be the part they made themselves which they added onto the old ZPlayer code to make Noozy ("New Z" ), so it should be safe to repost. Attached as well are my Equalizer settings which seemed to make the most difference, removing the rumbling/distortion almost completely.
My settings are as follows: XLimiter enabled, compression strength "Hard"; Psychoacoustic disabled; X-EQ enabled, frequencies at -1.0, -2.5, -5.5, -2.5, -1.0 (also attached); VE-Engine disabled; Logicsurround ES enabled, room size "Studio".

Find someone in Ottawa on Red Flag Deals forums who bought an N7 and are returning it for defective screen issues.
Meet up with them, buy them lunch, and swap over the speakers.
PS. my audio is fine at 100%, but volume isn't exactly overpowering. In fact, there are times I have trouble hearing a person over Skype. I haven't tried Transformers, yet.

I have the same problem. I ordered a replacement which will arrive tomorrow. If the replacement has any other issues that are worse than the crackling speaker then the replacement goes back and I keep my first Nexus 7. I might order another replacement or get my N7 just repaired after the return time expires.

i have this same issue now with the cracking distorted sounds on max volume. the odd part is it just started happening on mine. see i've had the N7 since 7/18 and the sound was pure till yesterday. i thought it was or is a issue with the new kernels i have been flashing for game performance. if your N7 can be returned do it imo you have nothing to lose. N7 for the price is one bad ass tablet mate. add a nice set of ear buds and go into the music player settings under equalizer options are 3d, bass boost, 5 band eq. play with those and the N7 with the buds is going to rock playing games and watching movies. since you are going to have a clean rom root that N7 for the tablet ui and then flash it with a custom kernel to release it's true gaming power... nova 3, spiderman, mc3 are buttery smooth with the gpu set at 500

super good news, bro!
yeah i emailed Google last week and last night they send me the instructions for a replacement. i requested one, should be shipped under a week, and i got 21 days to return mine to Toronto (which is 2-3days max on UPS standard).
so hopefully the new one arrives first so i can test it before i ship mine back.
yeah still abit reluctant with the whole process since EVERYTHING ELSE about my N7 is perfect. i'd rather deal with bad speakers at loud volume than cracking screen, dead pixels, or flickering.......
I had to RMA mine for the speaker issue as well.
Turns out, the speaker is actually good, but there's a loose connection in there somewhere. How I could tell was, if I held my tablet from the bottom, the speaker would sound like it was rattling/distorted/blown. Once I removed my hand, it was fine. Watching youtube videos and moving my hand up and down the back of the tablet would result in static noises that mirrored the movement of my hand.
When I called Google, this was a known issue on some units and they'll have no problem sending you out a new one.
God damnit, last night my speakers started rattling and now they sound like hell all the time if the volume is up at all. I believe it started when my volume got turned up too loud and a loud notification played.
So are the speakers blowing, or what's going on here? Anyone know?
Man, I have the exact OPPOSITE issue. I just bought a Nexus 7 today and my internal speaker is EXTREMELY quiet. I can barely hear it in a completely quiet room. I'd hate to RMA it since I don't seem to have any other issues with it. I tried volume+ and all it did was add a little crackling, it didn't boost the volume at all. I haven't read anything about this issue so I'm thinking defect, but if anybody has any input I would love to hear it.
Well, I listened to some left/right test sounds and determined only my left speaker was rattling, right sounded fine. Popped the back off, and the left speaker (right from the back side, of course) was different feeling. It was looser, moved more, and was "crunchy sounding". I pushed on it experimenting a bit and it popped, then it felt like the right one. I prodded a bit more, felt the same, so I tried music.
Sounds... Better. Not perfect. Still sounds a little rattly, but might be my imagination, I'll have to listen closer later. But from this, it seems like maybe the "cone" is detaching or popping off?
I wonder what it looks like inside the speakers. I did not remove anything except the back of the N7, not the speakers, nor their little fabric covers. If it happens again, I might look further.

Click on settings and then on sounds. the main volume box will pop up for you. You will see three volume bars just make sure there all the way over to the right. If your volume is still real low return your N7 for one without a speaker defect.

I was checking out a friends N7 that just started having the speaker issue. I installed Poweramp and found the problem on the distortion. Using the balance feature only the left speaker was distorting with the right side getting very little power. How to reset the sound so both channels equal out I bet would fix the crackling sound problem. Any ideas or settings we can adjust?

I've had six N7's (yes, six, and each and every one had a significant defect), and they all had at best what I would characterize as low volume. And the ones that went a little louder have been distorted. I've finally settle on a unit that doesn't seem to have any issues other than minor screen lift and crappy speakers, and I'm keeping it.
I figured, the bottom line is that I don't use the external speakers for anything but gaming and the occasional YouTube video. If I'm watching video or listening to music on this device, I use headphones anyways. And, when I'm watching a video in some situation where I want to use external speakers, I'm using my iPad.
Short answer to your question: yes, I've had N7's with extremely low volume. Personally, I wouldn't replace it for that, because at this point the odds of getting a unit with a worse problem remain too high (at least in my experience).
I had to return my first N7 because of the distorted speaker over 50% volume issue. I'm on my second N7 now and its been great so far.

When I first got my nexus I tested the speakers by watching transformers. I was amazed. It was quite loud and distortion free. The next day I got a notification and all I heard was almost pure crackling. And from then on its been horrible. I use external speakers or headphones for everything but when im not using those, its very annoying. I'm not returning it because otherwise, its flawless.

Yeah I had the same issue. It started yesterday couldn't go over 50% so I ordered a replacement . Process is really painless it will come in two businesses days and I get to keep them told one till then. Just flash the stock image band send at back.
just FYI, my crackling one was C60. got the new one which is C70 and it was perfect. loud enough and doesn't crack. no distortion.
I got my replacement for my 8 GB and went to the 16 GB this time from office depot. First one froze up and started having audio distortion, so far this one is doing great but only one day in. It is a c60 so hopefully that theory is wrong...

I had my Nexus 7 16GB for exactly one month now and until today it was perfect. This morning I noticed that the speakers sounded "blown". I made sure it wasn't the file I was playing as it played fine on other devices and ALL files sounded blown on the Nexus.
MicroCenter only covers it for the first 15 days so my only option was to call ASUS. After doing a factory reset it still had the problem so now I'm sending it to ASUS. Hopefully they will either fix or replace it.
This really sucks because up until this point I really loved the device. Oh and also in case anyone else is sending it to ASUS, be aware that ASUS will NOT send you anything. You as the customer is responsible for packaging AND shipping costs. I understand the profit margin on Nexus 7 is low but this is like rubbing salt into your wound.

[Q] Audio issues- background noise

Has anyone else noticed any issues with a background noise behind the audio? It is most noticeable with headphones, however I can identify it regardless of how i am playing audio. It sounds like a sort of static/buzzing sound, and is really irritating now I've noticed it.

I do have background noises that do sound like some static/buzzing, most noticeable after the ringtone / notificiation playback, for a second. And no, the actual ringtone / soundfiles are just fine, its related to the One.
S/N on Qualcomm DACs is not the best, but this sounds like maybe something different.

I think it might relate to Enable Beats sound. However, customer service told me HTC is working on this and will fix in SW.
It is the beats audio. Turn it off and the hiss is greatly reduced.
Beats audio seems to make no difference, have a replacement coming tomorrow so will be able to see whether it is a manufacturing fault or not.
I have this problem as well on my HTC One (Black).
It seems to be most noticeable on Youtube videos and games for me, disabling beats audio does seem to reduce the background noise / static but doesn't seem to get rid of it entirely, it also seems to happen no matter what you have the volume set to or if you are using headphones / the speakers.
I couldn't live with it and tried to get it replaced by phones4u but technical support said I would have to take it to a store and compare it with another HTC One, unfortunately no stores near me have any in stock so I am going to return it and wait for some of the kinks / build issues with the phone to be worked out.

In my experience from having the One since Friday, I would say it is a software issue rather than the hardware. I do get popping and bad hissing from the speakers at different frequencies, but if I turn off Beats Audio it is reduced drastically, although then you lose the nice bass and depth from the speakers. Hopefully it will be fixed in an update. I mostly notice it on YouTube videos or files with lower quality/bitrate.
Rescheduled my delivery for tomorrow but will update this thread, id be suprised if this is an issue common to all the handsets though as it's pretty unlivable for me and I would have guessed more people would have reported it.

I was hoping you would come back saying your new phone is perfect and doesn't have the problem. It's weird that no one has come into this thread saying they don't have the problem, although only a handful of people have said they do.
It does seem like a software problem like you and a few other people have mentioned, considering sound is one of the main selling points of this phone you would have thought they wouldn't have shipped it with such an obvious flaw.
I'll be sending my phone back tomorrow and at this rate I'm not sure if I will be getting another one as the sound problem bugged the hell out of me for the short time I used it.
-Aziki
Phoned three and they were really apologetic, sending me a new phone that they will first inspect for build quality issues. I expect the audio issue will persist though. Phoned HTC to see if its a software issue or not (also reported the capacitive button issue) and a manager is going to phone me back at some point today or tomorrow. They have until the s4 release date to give me the phone I paid for or im jumping ship.... Good luck with your replacement .
The hissing is a known issue which only appears on some builds, I personally have no issue so it is hardware
What is the serial number of your device (the first 6 characters)? Would love to be able to track which build exactly has the issue.
Just to clarify, the hissing is most noticeable if you play a track at low volume through headphones. Is made worse with beats enabled, but still occurs without it on.
Serial number is HT339W, so it was made on the 9th March 2013 in Taiwan. No hissing at all

Poll: Is one speaker louder than the other?

A day after receiving my phone, I began to notice the bottom speaker was louder than the top. Now I'm wondering if this is common.
Holding the phone about 6-8 inches away from you, play a video or mp3 of talking (standup comedy/video blog/etc) with the volume 3-4 notches below max. Do one of the speakers sound slightly/noticeably louder?

Maybe that would fix it. With it my Sprint unit only being a week old, I'd rather not risk it to wait and see. Lets Talk is sending me another one as we speak (type?). Gonna test my new unit to see if it has the same problem.
I actually might have waited it out if it weren't for the fact that the top speaker died at one point, requiring a soft reset to fix. Hopefully I just got a bad unit because I love this phone.
I noticed this on one that we took out of the box to play with. Was watching a few youtube videos on it and I noticed that the bottom speaker was slightly louder than the top. Otherwise it wouldn't really be noticeable imho, seems like a software mixing problem on the device we tested. Yours could have been defective if it was significantly louder than the top speaker.

That's exactly what I'm experiencing. It's a minor volume difference, but enough to be noticeable. I almost started to believe one of my ears were less capable than the other, lol. I'll try out the replacement and see if it's an improvement. Wish I didn't have to set everything up again, though.

Don't be a smartass. I have this same issue. How exactly is flipping the phone supposed to help if one side is louder than the other? If i flip it over, ONE SIDE IS STILL LOUDER THAN THE OTHER. smh....
My bottom one is louder too I think, not by much tho...

I can barely notice a difference between the two speakers. If you didn't post this I probably would never even detected it but there is a very slight difference between the two speakers.
My apologies to any glass shattering moments created for anyone who reads this topic.
I've confirmed the volume imbalance by venturing to different retail stores and testing their models, along with the two I've posessed. Each time I've been able to have it presented to me in random orientations and, with my eyes closed, identify which side is the bottom speaker. It's kind of a neat party trick at this point, lol.
I've become used to it, assuming it to be a software fix away from perfection. Here's hoping HTC notices and balances the two.
Just got my black sprint model 2 days ago. Seems equal to me. Maybe I'm just not that anal.

For what it's worth. I haven't noticed any imbalances with my phone...
I noticed this on one that we took out of the box to play with. Was watching a few youtube videos on it and I dynam rc planes noticed that the bottom speaker was slightly louder than the top.I can barely notice a difference between the two speakers. If you didn't post this I probably would never even detected it but there is a very slight difference between the two speakers:good::good:.
My bottom speaker is very slightly louder. I thought it was a hardware fault but turn beats on and both speakers level out perfectly! Can't complain!
Mine seems to be well balanced
Hi Guys
Just got my New One and Im having the same issue.. the bottom speaker is ever so slightly louder than the top.. On its side, the SIM tray down over, front cam at the top, listening to TuneIn Radio Pro and any music In the player.. the Right speaker is louder. Im running 422 / 2.24.401.8.
Are these defective units and should I replace it or is there a fix out for it.
Thanks
my top is louder.. for sure.. but it still sounds great to me.. i didt get my phone new.. i traded my S4 for the ONE.. from someone off craigslist.. the dude i got it from his first htc one died.. so they sent him a replacement he had it for 5 days the we traded phone
Stereo is never equally output balanced..which is why its stereo.
My top speaker is louder. Over the updates the overal sound volume has been decreased. Does anyone know of a volume fix?

Have a m7ul, not a Sprint One, but I noticed my bottom speaker is MUCH louder than my top one. To the point where there's no noticeable difference in volume/sound if I cover the top speaker. Had anyone noticed if the ROM makes any difference? Stock sense vs Play Edition vs CM?
I'm on CM 10.2 nightly right now. I did have a lot of difficulty hearing people on phone calls on ARHD Sense though.

901e red:
-sound crackling with bass at high volumes using in ear headphones
-hiss with IEMs and cpu noise on left channel
-volume messes up (beats volume gain reversed or no gain on either mode) after plugging in headphones while speaker is playing music
Latest update also adds charging percentage animation when charging phone and you cant turn it off unless you turn the phone on standby and charge it as such

I got mine in a box with the imei on the box so it did not come with stickers. It was purchased from PDA king which I think is an official seller as their main store is also official HTC service center in Taiwan. HTC Taiwan seems to partner with such store (also Fat Lizard lol weird name) s their employees are HTC.
Then again tsokh says he has similar problems on the 901s

hmm, mine was purchased in late August, but perhaps it was one of the earlier models as the store is relatively small but then again it's part of a rather large computer market (NOVA). I wonder if any other Taiwanese users here can confirm my problems.
I think a lot of headphone amps will have distortion if volume is too high, I have an iPad 2 and I think it has an amp as its volume level is very similar to the Butterfly s, probably a tad higher. It has a similar distortion with IEMs but only at the absolute highest volume setting (which is way too high for my ears anyways). With over-ear headphones it sounds fine at max volume. With my Butterfly s, however, I notice it at 12/15 of the maximum volume already (which I consider my ideal listening volume to block out noise and hear more of the music). I do not notice any distortion with anything else but slow bass notes. The high pitched CPU noise only happens between tracks although there is still some hiss going on (only very noticeable in very quiet parts with IEMs - update seems to have fixed the continuous hiss after music is stopped).
Really should have asked for a replacement in Taiwan but I only had one week before I returned to Canada, and also took a few days going to Macau . I don't want to have it RMA'd here in Canada because it is primarily an Asian product plus so many people complaining about HTC's RMA service. (more or less so in Taiwan, probably slightly better)>
Droider.se a Swedish HTC fan site said they had similar problem as mine with a partially "broken" UrBeats headphones while a new UrBeats sounds fine. Well I think Beats headphones have higher impedance so they might not distort as much (but then I'm not a fan of the Beats sound)
Received mine through negri electronics, and am not happy!!!!! The phone itself is amazing, but i do have one dead pixel!! And it squeaks when bending a little. I can live with these minor problems. What i cant live with, is the fact that i paid 750.00 for a NEW phone, and got one already opened!!!! I assumed that it was standard operation procedure, to make sure the device worked, and wasnt cracked, or shattered etc. etc.
Boy, was i wrong!! Seems like Negri, has a "open box special" on their website. Lol! I must have got in on this deal unknowingly!!!! At twice the cost! Im gonna post a couple screenshots, and i suggest anyone else who has had this happen, stand up, and say something! Ive been sending email after email trying to reach a manager. I will contact better business if i have to. This is unacceptable, and im not gonna settle for a bargain phone, at a full retail price!!!
If u notice, in the screenshot, there is no mention of a "open box special" because, thats not what i paid for!

Damn that really sucks. so much for 440 ppi though because I thought you wouldn't be able to see a dead pixel lol.
I think squeaking when bending is somewhat unavoidable my One X+ also made creaking sounds when bending. They're both "plastic" phones though the HOX+ has a really nice unibody it feels rugged. I bought the BS mainly because I would want an unlocked phone to use when travelling, unfortunately, the next time I go to Taiwan I think I'll need to take up 2 weeks for RMA and who knows, it might not even be the headphone amp but the DAC itself or something else...
Do you have problems with audio quality such as bass crackling?

Mine came in open box too, but I bought it from local seller, as the phone would cost me more than 1000$ with customs taxes. anyway, I checked if everything works during a week including testing for dead pixels. I don't hear any squeaking when bending. Regarding the sound, I have the same issue as FYL21, but I really don't bother about it, as I don't listen to music on such volume level when the hiss or crackling are noticeable with my stock headphones. However, I still prefer listening to music with high-impendance earphones (borrowed AT ESW9 from my friend for some time - really like the soundstage).

Are you also getting headphone crackling at high volumes with bass?
Test song: https://app.box.com/s/71ernfnfrucms6iggetk
I think a little bit of crackling with speakers is somewhat normal; a lot of people with HTC One reported the same issue as well, to which turning Beats audio ON might actually stop it because it lowers the volume of the speaker while for headphones it increases volume slightly.
I think this 1.9gHz Qualcomm chip is quite problematic considering the Galaxy S4 had very similar audio problems using headphones... It seems to only affect some units though. The problem is nobody else has reported such problems to HTC so they think mine should be RMA'd and I don't think everyone has this problem. If the problem lies within the DAC, I am not sure if they can replace the SoC...
As for the creaking you have noticed, it seems like there is a space of air near where the volume rocker is. It isn't much of a problem
Stupid question here but what is the different between the E and S models? Does one have different specs or something along those lines?

the only difference is that 901s supports LTE frequencies, 901e doesn't have LTE. All other specs are similar.

Ear speaker buzzing at low frequencies

Got my XZ2 like a week ago I'm overall very satisfied with the phone with two exceptions. The first one is the camera, it's either a camera that's very bad for a phone of this price or I just can't take good pictures with it. But I can live with that, I rarely use that either way. But the second problem is that the ear speaker buzzes at low frequencies and it's irritating. I've tested it and it seems to buzz at somewhere around 90-250Hz. I'd like to hear some opinions on how to troubleshoot this and if there are others having the same problem(s).
There must be something wrong with your unit.
The camera in mine are the best of all xperias i had so far.
The only issue with the sound i have are with wireless inear i got then i bought the phone.

Here are some pictures taken at night. To be honest I havent been paying attention to my older phones' cameras because they were quite mid range (N5X and stuff) and maybe I have had some high expectations about this phone I don't know, can you compare this pics with the ones you have taken and tell me if there's a difference or no?
Hi,
I also had tinny distortion through the ear speaker on calls. Amazon sent a replacement and it had a loose volume rocker. They then sent a second replacement and it has distortion at different frequency when notification sounds are played through top speaker. Not noticed any issues with any of them when playing music/videos. Amazon wants me to return all the phones and give me a refund which isn't ideal as I've bought several cases and a wireless charger. I just want a working device

Thanks for your reply. I'm not an expert when it comes to audio testing and frequencies. What should be expected from working speakers? Should there be no distortion/crackling at all when playing that frequency test video?
Thanks.

That's good news that all XZ2's do not have this issue!
Could I ask you to play the video that Haldi4803 posted above and confirm if you have any distortion/crackling through the top speaker with volume set to max? For me it happens somewhere between 100hz - 200hz.
Though the issue occurred at different frequencies on all 3 devices Amazon sent me.
After 3 faulty handsets from Amazon I'm now having to get a refund and considering purchasing from another retailer.
Thanks

I already tested it and use my phone for calls.
My device is a H8296 Rev2. 6GB RAM :silly:
I have only these touch bugs.
If I write fast, sometimes it doesn't recognize a touch on a letter or think, I would swipe between two touch points.

So I have received my 4th device from another retailer and it doesn't have the problem with the ear speaker.
It is a H8216 Rev 3, the three devices from Amazon were Rev 2's.
The only annoyance is it has a rattle in the back panel when you lay it down on a surface. You can hear the rattle clearly when tapping the bottom left corner of the phone with the screen facing you.
It has been reported here
Anyone else noticed this with their device?
Thanks

No rattle.
Only this weird touch behaviour, while writing fast.
H8216 Rev 3 here, and I have no rattles or anything wrong tbh...though 2 days after getting it all the hard buttons stopped working and I had to let the phone go flat, after the power up, it was fine.

Thanks for the replies both. Not sure whether to get yet another replacement. I didn't think the rattle was that noticeable at first but tapping on the the bottom left corner reproduces it and now very prominent when laying it down. Sounds a bit like a cable that's lying loose against the inside of the glass back panel
Weird, but it does it when tapping top right bezel as well but not top left or bottom right.
