{{GUIDE}}DEBUGGING Xposed Installation - Xposed General

Here you are..many of you had issues installing XPOSED on your LOLLIPOP device..Let me give you a short guide on the installation process
This guide is not made by me
All credits goes to @faslane
Thank him for this
Thanku @rovo89 for making Xposed work on ART
Thanku all devs and members who participated on the DISCUSSION thread who helps us solve the issues on our devices
I am starting the thread because many of you have issues in installing and enabling the framework..and its tiresome to search for the solution on the DISCUSSION thread
So let's start
NB:Make a Nandroid Backup before making changes
Don't blame me for broken devices
Download both the apk and the Zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58828974
1) Install the APK
2) Install SELinuxModeChanger from Play Store. Link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.selinux&hl=en
3) Start SELinuxModeChanger and switch to permissive.
4) Flash the ZIP through recovery (TWRP recommended)
5) Start the XPOSED UI and choose soft reboot option.((It might show that Xposed is not active but it works anyway))
6.Download any working module and test
This works on most of the devices and give it a try..This might solve your issue for good
NB:For Nexus 5 and some other devices you may need to have a soft reboot after every boot/reboot for the XPOSED to work properly

I've also posted it several times in its respective thread. So people WOULD search. Its the least they can do since I took the time to write it and helped a few hundred people at least.

Lots of people aren't aware that xposed might not read selinux as permissive because of the kernel settings /bootsequence
Perhaps add something like this:
7. Most likely you'll have to repeat Nr 5 every time you boot/reboot your device to keep xposed working.
Or make a note on Nr 5:
To get xposed to work: a soft reboot needs to be done after every boot/reboot in order for xposed to read selinux as permissive.

Hello, this thread is the most helpful (on the official I don't understand for be honest)
But what can I have to do with the second files in the op (XposedBridgeApi-20150213.jar) for the apk and the zip I know what I have to do but with this last....
Thanks

You won't need the file((XposedBridgeApi-20150213.jar)).It is for MODULE builders.
You have nothing to do with that file unless you're a dev and is planning to work on that

You should do a soft reboot after every hard reboot for the framework to work

Yea, i must do soft reboot after every normal reboot. Is there a way to don't this? ;/

Still says Xposed not active. What's throwing me is 'app_process active --' as in 0 or null. All the screen shots I've seen show something like 20. SE Linus mode is set to Permissive.

4K and Roms

Hello, I have some questions about Z1:
Did anyone installed 4k and Timeshift and did it work?
What's the best ROM? Now should I install custom rom or no? And how to install rom? Via Flashtools?
I installed a custom theme, but it just changed the main screen wallpaper and nothing else. It's rooted (757). Someone told me to choose the default theme and reboot phone, then again choose custom theme. Is that true?
It has a bit delay when I press the power button to unlock the phone. It's about 4-5 seconds more than usual. It made after I flash it to Kitkat 4.4.2. I don't know why, but I have this issue. How to solve it?
Thanks all

Hi...
For that 4K hysteria - belive me, that's nothing special.
Device sometimes (Z2) FC because overheating (after all, Z2 and Z1 have snapdragon 800- 801 is just a fancy new number, it's same cpu just overclocked to 2.3).
One min video takes 500MB of space and I rarely us it...
Timeshift is awesome and it's work great if I can remember well..
Questions like what's the best ROM aren't allowed on XDA so I'll skip that..
Try few of them and you'll find what's best for you.
For custom themes you have to patch services.jar - si, you have to install superuser mod or use Xposed module called "Xperia Xposed" by serajr - that module will automatically patch services.jar (will disable signature check)
No, you don't have to apply stock then custom, that's good advice for CM ROMs and themes in that ROMs.
If you have superuser, deodexed ROM and rooted device (of course) you'll be able to see custom themes.
Don't know about that "lag" but you could check RAM consumption, maybe there's a solution.
Or try to go to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik (don't rush there, many guys reported they did full wipe after trying only cache wipe)

Thanks. When I was about to install Deodex Rom, so after installation, a post said that I should clear dalvik-cache, and so I did it.
For this part "For custom themes you have to patch services.jar - si, you have to install superuser mod or use Xposed module called "Xperia Xposed" by serajr - that module will automatically patch services.jar (will disable signature check)" I did not got anything, because I'm not pro in android phones. Z1 is my first smart and android phone.
And so, I don't know how to patch services.jar-si
It's rooted of course, and I have SuperSU, lucky patcher, and recently installed moded Google Play.
Is that installed? How should I install it? Or how should I get it?
And about Timishift, it's and amazing addon for camera, just I wanna it. I know that some users reported Sony about overheating of 4k in Z2. My phone itself records 2K, and sometimes I face low memory.

Sorry again. I'm a beginner and my English is not well enough to understand properly these threads and posts.
I read your thread, but I have some questions:
What's NUT 534 firmware? I flashed my phone to 757 via flashtools. Should I flash it again?
I unlocked my BU and rooted it, and so I have CWM or CMW (I don't know which one is correct). And again I should download and install Dual Recovery?
And should I download both Xposed Module and Serajr Xperia Module?
So, now because I have recovery mode, it means there isn't need to flash again?
Now my brain is overheated!
Please help me
Just install xposed framework and serjar module, then the 4k mod
If you have unlocked the boot and have recovery you are all ready to just install the 4k mod by flashing it in recovery then clearing the data in settings/apps for the named apps
just like it says in the OP of the 4k thread

Not working for me. Anyone get it to work on the N6?
Nobody with an N6 has reported it working so far in the Xposed thread. Kinda frustrating that the most important Android phone out is the only one that can't seem to get it going.
Rovo89 says, Note that this is still an alpha version and for Lollipop on ARMv7+ devices only. Please install it only if you're willing to take the risk of boot loops. Just because it's working fine and stable for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone the same way.

There's a second upload that works on the n6. Check the op. But it only works after a soft reboot for me, if I do a full reboot it won't work.

See thread in n6 general. Yea you have to soft reboot to have xposed run after you are in permissive mode for selinux. Its the only way right now. If you full reboot, xposed runs before selinux is permissive
Would love to have it was excited now disappointed. Owell guess I'll wait it out along with everyone else

You don't need a second link download the two files. Download selinux make sure you set permissions to permissive. Boot into recovery flash framework, boot up install xposed, reboot into recovery again install framework. If it does not active do a soft reboot in xposed

What modules are actually working on our gadget please?
I got RootCloak working. To verify this I opened Soft Card before Xposed was installed and it detected root. After Xposed was installed, I then installed RootCloak, checked the box in modules, added Soft Card in the app. Then I went back to Xposed and did a soft reboot. Then I rechecked Soft Card and it worked!

It works, but I did not get the results I wanted. It may be the way lollipop handles things, but i tried to get the tablet style settings by picking a high resolution and it worked but was all crammed in the middle. So...the xposed module works, but lollipop may give you some trouble.

[Q] Xposed working on Nexus 6 5.1.1 Stock?

Hello,
I am wondering if the latest Xposed version is working fine on N6 5.1.1 Stock ROM. I have never tried Xposed on Lollipop since the official version doesn't support it.
Wondering if anyone using it can shine some light on the installation procedure. The Permissive thing is required or not?
Thanks
Yes it works. Flash the zip and install the apk. Nothing more to it than that. Just take a backup first. Permissive is not required.

Some modules don't play nice together. I can't speak about that particular combination, but it happens.
I've got both Greenify and Amplify installed (stock 5.1.1, unencrypted with Franco kernel). My N6 has never been snappier, no lag whatsoever. Was actually a little surprised at how smooth it feels after I flashed 5.1.1.

Well then am not sure why mine was lagging. Now I unencrypted my phone by flashing Elemental X and formatting userdata. Then Xposed gave troubles of low system space, fixed it by wiping cache and dalvik.
Haven't installed Greenify or Amplify after but still the system isn't as snappier as it was when it was just stock rooted with custom kernel. Any tips or modules you guys can suggest to make it more snappier?

Hi! I am a total newb to flashing. From the link to download the zip, which version is the nexus 6? I believe it's just the arm and not arm64. So, as of today, it's xposed-v65-sdk22-arm-by-romracer-20150701.zip. Is that correct?

As far as I know, you need to set your SELinux to Permissive for Amplify to work properly.
Download & Flash the attached ZIP file. Then reboot, open Xposed and reenable the Amplify module and do a Soft Reboot.

You my friend rock! haha. Now, just a question, if I want to remove "permissive", how would I go about doing that (for future reference of course). Right now I want to play around with Amplify But it's good to know how to remove and undo these things.

Glad to help
This would be an easy way, install the attached APK and use it. You can use it to toggle the Permissive/Enforcing option. Make sure you give it ROOT permission if it asks.

Xposed modules don't recognize that xposed is active

Hi, I just installed xposed v86 for arm on my wiki pulp 4g with success, but modules don't see that xposed is active and tell me: "activate me in xposed". I tried both soft reboot and complete reboot, but nothing happened. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance

You have gone to "Modules" in the Xposed installer app and made sure to check the check boxes for each module and then rebooted?

It is showing none of your modules loading, you may need a different Xposed build. Have you checked the thread for your device? Some devices need specific Xposed builds.

Already tried it, it's the v86 version. It don't work :/

Does anyone have working Xposed module on rooted Stock rom (S251) for Lenovo P2?

Dear xdains,
My Lenovo P2 is running Android N stock rom (S251_ROW) and rooted systemlessly with Magisk.
I can run pretty much any root app on the phone except xposed module. I've tried all different versions of xposed. I have installed latest Xposed installer. Tired it via TWRP's zip flashing, tried it via in-app installation, tried version 88.1, 88.2 for SDK24 and even version 89. However, every time phone gets stuck on boot animation screen.(blue dots on white background).
My main intention of installing Xposed is to change the default (boring) system animation. (Transition effect).
I've even tried stratum but only can make few cosmetic changes but touching the transition animation bricks the phone.
I didn't get any solution apart from flashing an AOSP based ROM or Lineage ROM etc.
I don't want to go for any custom ROM because isn't the whole point of rooting is to gain full control over the phone and make the current system work as we wish?
So, any expert, please tell me why does the stock ROM doesn't support Xposed? I mean, technically what is preventing it? What files should be modified to support Xposed on stock ROM?
If anyone knows any way to make xposed module work on Lenovo P2's latest stock rom S251 or to change transition animation/effect on the same, please let the community know.
Thanks.
Yes it happens.
But after flashing xposed on stock, first boot takes time.
After waiting for some time, click home button(or fingerprint button) it will boot. It will boot definitely.
It is the bug you have to face if flashing xposed on stock rom
Hit thanks if you like it.....
