Has anybody been having problems with Bluetooth sound quality? On calls, other end gets a really bad echo, and I get a bit of static on my end. Just came from a Nexus 5 and then HTC One m8, headset is a Moto hx550, and it was crystal clear on both. Latest radio, tried factory reset and different roms, all sound the same.
And it's gone... switched to CM12 again(which had the same issue for me previously) and it sounds great. Even though it's working now did anybody else experience anything like this?

Same problem for me with stock, even after 5.1 update! Does CM12 fix the issue for you?
Although this only happens for me during voice calls. Listening to audio I fine!

Anyone use a Jawbone Icon? People hear me fine, but the quality of their voice is always pretty crappy. Its hard to understand them. Volume isn't an issue. On the Icon, I'm running latest update with A2DP functionality and 2.2 on N1.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have the same issue as well, but as soon I went back to the original Jawbone profile instead of the A2DP, the issue went away.

Hmmm....I guess I will try disabling A2DP too.
I'm using AD2P. It seems to work for me.

Did you find a solution for this? Im having this issue too.
I find that that after reseting the Icon the first call is clear, but then call quality gets increasing worse with each call. A2DP sounds good though.
are you guys using CM6? I heard a while back that the volume boosting kernel messes with call quality in bluetooth headsets, not sure if this was fixed.
Just acquired one of these phones today and seem to be having a slightly strange issue and hoping someone might know the resolution.
When on a call, the other person cannot hear me at all (they can hear nothing as-if the microphone is muted, it's not!), however if I switch to speakerphone they can hear me fine.
This is happening on any ROM, except unofficial CM10.1 where the microphone does not work at all.
In external apps the mic does not work either (so if I record a video, I get no sound).
I'm having trouble seeing this as a mic hardware issue as it works OK on speakerphone, any ideas on this?
Cheers!

Does this happen on stock rom as well?
Yeah I've put it back to the Samsung firmware (Carphone Warehouse UK, 2.3.6) and still doing the same thing.
Interestingly, on stock-based ROMs the Mic works on speakerphone (Still nothing anywhere else), but on CM-based or ported ROMs, the mic does not work at all!
Just to confirm, the Galaxy Mini does have just a single mic right? Haha!
Hi guys,
I am facing trouble while using a head set with my phone for making calls. The person at the other end is hearing noises and distortions making the call quality really poor and making the headset useless. I tried with many headsets but its it till there. Without the head set the call quality is pretty fine.
The odd thing is that while doing voice calls through Skype, this issue does not pop up.
I am using 16gb s advance running stock JB android. Does anyone else face this issue?
Thanks.

I was using headset that I got from the phone, white one. And I did not have any problems before. On stock, did not try it on CM ROMs.

Then it must be a hardware problem (not sure why skype calls works fine though ). Will get it checked out by Samsung guys. Thanks
As soon as I updated to Marshmellow I instantly starting having issues with my audio quality via bluetooth car. On 5.1.1 voice quality was fine, but now it sounds almost like it's out of phase and skipping badly. Is this a known issue, if so, is there a fix?
Thanks!
I use BT in my truck every day. I haven't had any skips that are consistent. Every once in a while, I might hear the audio drop for a split second, but I don't find that it's worse than it was before. I use mine for music and voice calls. I never have any trouble with voice calls. I've always had those little random split second drops with any phone I've had, so I figure it's my stereo.
This sounds more like someone put the whole car underwater and is trying to speak with their mouth full of water as well. I had no problems before when I was on 5.1.1. I've tried a customer 6.0 rom and it has the same problem. I'll try going back to a 5.1.1 rom and see if still does it.

The Bluetooth bug is a known bug in MM, Google it and you'll find out.

I saw issues where there were bluetooth connection issues where there would be no audio, but not specifically my problem. Do you have any documentation so I know what to look for in the future?
Audio streaming from something like Spotify is not affected, just when the car is used as a headset.

Thanks for trying. I went back to Lollipop and the issue is gone. Definitely a bug in Marshmallow.
My experience was opposite. Bluetooth sound quality was horrible on 5.1. After updating to 6.0 all problem went away. I was extremely happy with their fix.
Hi, my mother's nexus 6 has a problem where she can't hear phone calls via bluetooth unless she First answer the call and THEN turn on bluetooth. It happened with every rom, stock, carbon cyanogen, pixel Experience and we cannot come to an end of this. Somebody has fixed this issue?
Maybe try a different headset? There are a lot of subtle variables in implementing bluetooth, and it's possible that this particular headset just isn't compatible with this phone.
