I'm running lg optimus l90 d415 and wondering if I should root. I I do and it breaks I can't return it to get replacement? Anyway I can preserve that?
Unless you mess it up so bad that your device doesn't even boot, there's really no way to keep your warranty after rooting. Of course, you can always unroot if there's a need.

Well first off, if you just got the phone from T-Mobile on the $50 dollar sale, restocking fee is $49. Either way the phone for me is cheap. Chances are you are not going to mess your phone up bad enough to where it won't work. That's just a disclaimer. Follow the instructions and you should be good to go.:good:

it was my sister's phone. i just switched numbers. so i got that phone for free basically.

You have to downgrade the KDZ to 10C. Then you can root. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago because my S4 broke and I needed a phone to hold me over for a while. So mine came with
d41510e.

Im getting a new phone through insurance for $130 deductible. Do i need to unroot and put stock firmware back on or can i just send it how it is?

Since it is an insurance claim you can just say that you lost the phone and never send it back. YOu could also make it physically unusable. With insurance it doesn't matter what you did to violate the warranty
I am sending my nexus one back to google and wanted to make sure i unroot the phone so that there are not issue in the returning process.

Maybe you should have researched what you were going to get yourself into before you rooted your device, there is no way to complete 'unroot' the phone at all. I don't believe google will have the ability to flash the firmware that allows it to go back to stock, so if they're 'nice' they'll have to send it to HTC.
You're **** out of luck, next time research and now you'll have to enjoy your Nexus One. Might I ask, why don't you like it anymore?

You have completely undoubtedly altered the phone beyond typical repair by Google's end, they will need to invest money in order to have HTC relock the phone. There is no way to 'relock' your bootloader, which is where you voided your warranty. I would not waste their time or your own money in trying to send the phone back rooted in order to obtain a refund

Question my phone is rooted i dropped it the lcd screen is cracked so i paid for asurion to send a replacement phone $130 i hope because my phone is rooted they dont give me an issue i dont think me rooting my phone has anything todo with the insurance fee i pay every month please elaborate if u can!
Might as well try and return it. Wouldn't hurt to see if they accept it.

You're getting a new phone for the $130 deductible... and you don't send your broken one in. You keep it too... Hold on to it and see if you can get a replacement LCD to fix it and sell it later.

Really? I was under the impression you had to send it in by the way the Tmob rep explained it. I've been wondering about that for a while, how it would work in case of theft or something like that. Good information to know

I had that problem and ATT changed out my phone. Since then it has run perfectly. You don't mention what OS you are on but failing with ATT my only suggestion is at least get to some version of 2.3
I run Legend 4 with Corn 7.06 with no problems. If it still shuts down at least you'll be doing with a nicer ROM!

This is what I get for buying a phone off of eBay. I usually never buy from eBay for this exact reason. I am so stupid.
I guess I could try flashing a different ROM, I currently have the Dark Knight ICS ROM but to be honest I don't think it will help. Thank you though for your reply.
Try checking with Samsung. A 10 minute call on a device I bought off of ebay got me a prepaid shipping label to return it under warranty. Since that is a known issue, they may fix it out of warranty also.

Yep. If they're willing to fix it (probably just replace it) then you will need to return it to stock.
I've done my research and it seems to be a recurring problem with LG G4s. A few reviewers are posting that the ZBV files that's available does not work anymore.
Any way files out I can download to hard reset the phone to get it working again or could someone shed some light on what I might be able to do?

Lgs waranty. Is about the only soulution. Theres a site somewhere u can check the warranty validity by iemi i dont know the site off top of my head. But its a known issue lg should still fix it.
Its a hardware issue. U might try some of the fixxes with placing objects behid the prossessor. But will void waranty if any.

more than likely youll go through lg straight
if u have a post paid carrier and insuarance theyll try to get u to file a claim. dont let em.
you have to talk to lg straight and send it to lgs warranty center. not throught carrier.
if im not mistaken lg also extended the 1 year warranty on it by so much because of said issue.
i dont know how much.
or if its true as i voided my warranty rite after purchase with the thermal paste mod

So my G4 started bootlooping a few days ago.
I called around and tried to find out if it was covered under a warranty but I bought it used over a year ago.
I was able to find out that my local sprint repair center would swap it out for me for free!!
I do not have protection plan on any of my phones, but it doesn't matter with this phone Sprint is replacing them for everyone.
It takes a few days to get the replacement.

I have the g4s little brother, the LG g stylo (metropcs), and I was thinking about a slight upgrade. I found a bnib tmobile g4 on eBay (located in usa not china)
My current phone is stock rooted 6.0 with xposed and I have everything set just how I like it...I also use my phone everyday for work so it's very important that it works flawlessly.
I've been reading about boot loop issues with the g4 and that worries me...I'm also worried about this whole thing I've recently come to find out about xposed not working on nougat? But I suppose I could just stay on a mm based Rom? I'm also trying to learn about magisk as I didn't even know what that was because I really haven't tinkered with this phone in quite a while.
Anyway I'm wondering if anyone here has any good advice/knowledge to share with me...any links that could provide good reading material would be appreciated to catch me up to speed...or if maybe you can suggest another phone to upgrade to? The g4 I found was $140...but I'd probably spend up to 250ish? depends on 2 things... 1 if its really a h811 ive seen many and inside motherboard is another variant..
2. its not guarantee but as long as you get a phone made from 2016 onward the better. doesnt mean it could not bootloop but chances are slim. i have 1 from jan 2016 anyhting above that manufacturing date . less chance to bootloop also LG has extended warranty to 2 years from manufacture warranty so they say.

well the only way i guess is to ask the seller for manufacturing date. tell them some units are defective and you want to look for the phone with newest manufacturing date. cause if you get one and its from 2015 are very likely to bootloop.
