Does rooting and flashing a ROM resolve the issue not receiving calls while on 4g/LTE on Sprint?

I don't think so. It seems the problem of the device itself
lte is only for data, unless sprint has volte available, which it doesnt. so if you get a phonecall, the network should drop to H/3G to talk on the phone. only Volte is made to use the lte line to talk on, and its not available through sprint.

Since I updated to 4.4.2 on my HTC ONe GPe, I've been having issues sending or receiving texts over LTE. Receiving calls as well. I can make the call (since it switches from LTE to HSPA). It specifically happens on the LTE network, not on HSPA, or 3G, or 2G.
I honestly don't know if it's a software issue, or it's just a coincidence the network is having issues for a few days and counting. Local T-Mobile said it's going to check on the issue, we'll see.
I use AT&T note 3 on t-mobile. 4.4.2 official AT&T kitkat rom. Rooted (couldn't get hotspot working without root)
I don't think there's a way to flash T-Mobile rom on my phone, but wonder if there's a way to get volte to work on this phone on t-mobile.
Do I need to wait until AT&T sends out volte update and will it work with T-Mobile? Is there a chance I won't be able to root\use hotspot after such update?
Can I tweak anything to make it work?
Currently, when I get a call while hotspot is on, network switches to 4G and never switches back to LTE until the hotspot is turned off... and the only way to get around this issue is to forward calls (or switch hotspot off and then back on)
I know T-Mobile is pushing out volte and people on xda say it works in my area.
Thanks
I'm having some issues receiving phone calls when I'm in 4G mode - I'm aware of the fact that voice over lte doesn't work yet, however in my understanding the phone should quickly switch to 3g mode and accept the incoming call, right?
Apparently my P7-L10 has trouble with that. It just doesn't switch, and the incoming call goes to voicemail.
Is that normal? Is there any fix to make the device switch to 3g mode quicker upon a call?
Running B135 rom, rooted.

I'm having fine calls when I'm on 4G. (Milan, north Italy). Perhaps your city has too few 4G antennas and doesn't have stable 4G signal so it switches back and forth to 3G while you're having a call?

I don't think that's the issue, 4G coverage here is pretty amazing.

Forget what I wrote, I forgot that voice calls don't have to do anything with LTE, lol.
Anyway I'm having fine calls with 3G or 2G, have you tried doing a nandroid backup and start over to see if the problem occurs also in fresh state?
Fine calls with 3g or 2g here as well.
Except when I'm on 4G - nobody can reach me, it all goes to voicemail...
I could say I started fresh - I did a factory reset and a clean wipe 3 days ago, but I haven't noticed the issue untill yesterday.
On a French, people reported issues with calls in 4g covered area, but it seems that the problems come from network, not from the phone. The issues appear only in certain areas with one operator, and some other phones behave in same manner. Perhaps you need to check with another SIM card from another operator.
hello,
I encounter the same problem receiving my incoming calls in automatic mode 4G 3G 2G redirected my mail. When I'm on automatic 3G2G no problem.
I'm B133 update. 4 months no problem. Since mid-October the problem occurred.
My operator is Virgin Mobile. P7 smartphones, antennas or operator?
The rocker 4G 3G to receive calls no longer made. Tried my sim card on a S5 and a LG G2 and the problem is the same.
After several calls to my operator solution but not another concern, I have to connect data to receive my calls 4G 3G 2G automatic.
I'll try to go B121 update or réinisilisation P7.
If no solution change operator before trying their sim card lent by friends subscribers home.

Hi does anyone else have disappearing calls when connected to LTE using a tmobile based s6?
This issue only occurs when LTE is active.
An incoming call will ring once or twice and go straight to voice-mail even though I have full bars

Go to your Phone App settings and turn off Wifi calling and VoLTE.
I'm sorry I have already disabled WiFi calling, and the problem persists but also - I don't have a separate 'VolTE' setting to toggle. Is it because it only appears if I have a T-mobile sim card inserted?
Thanks for your help!
EDIT for anyone who may run in to this issue: I fixed this by flashing Emporia Rom by iB4STiD, it seems to disable whatever t-mobile left over sorcery that was messing with AT&T calling because the rom is not based on t-mobile firmware
Now the calls come through 99% of the time but sometimes takes about 5 rings to connect to me. . arrr

happens to me on even international firmware too. only works well right when i reboot the phone.
I have this issue also with a tmobile s6 on att. What method did you use to unlock the phone? I used the metro pcs firmware to unlock the phone and when I updated to 5.1.1 is when all the issues started. On 5.0.2 I used the tmobile unlock app and everything worked perfect. I receive one in every 3 incoming calls, like you said it rings twice and mine doesn't even go my voicemail, it just says "the wireless number you are trying to contact is unavailable then hangs up", out going calls take 30 seconds to a minute to connect, very annoying. Talked with att on the phone for hours about this problem and they cant seem to get it fixed on their end.
Same...I disabled lte and just use 4g, seems to work fine.
Hello,
I've searched the forums and haven't found an answer to this issue I'm having.
I have a Huawei P10 Plus VKY-L29 model and I'm having issues connecting to LTE on T-Mobile US. In areas where is it supposed to be LTE, the signal displays "4G+". I know there's the argument that 4G+ is LTE but then there's the problem where other people are on LTE and I will be on 4G in the same area. Also, whenever I make a call (whether on 4G or 4G+) before the call begins to ring, it will revert to nothing higher than 3G and then connect the call. This is an issue because my phone will also not receive calls unless 3G is available (which is not always the case) and will send the caller straight to voicemail and I will get no notification that they called unless they leave a voicemail. I assume this is a VoLTE (Voice over LTE) thing. I want to note that I do have the Virtual HD call move enabled in Dialer settings. There is no VoLTE setting in the device though. I was searching for the engineering code for Huawei devices in case there's a "LTE/4G/3G/2G" option that is not enabled but have not found one that works for this device.
My device is not rooted.
Please help!
Thank you!

You have to check your carrier whether they enable and support VOLTE for P10 plus. My carrier in my country only support few mobile devices for VOLTE and including P10. VOLTE is a service provide by carrier. Not phone. Hope it helps.
