Mabuhay!
I created this thread as a common stomping ground for fellow early adopters such as myself for the Android One devices in the Philippines. I own a Cherry Mobile One but MyPhone Uno owners are also welcome as we are essentially running the same hardware (except for an extra 4GB internal storage for CM). The thread will be open to those who want to post their reviews, rants or general thoughts on the devices, Android Lollipop and the Android One program in general.
So mga kabayan, come in and welcome! I only request everyone to remain cordial and respectful, and to stick to the good manners our respective nanays thought us. Remember the Android One Slogan:
Be Together, Not The Same!
My phone uno users if you got mobile please share your 5.1 ROM dump .. Backup using custom recovery all Indian devices comes with same specs as you guys, you can try all the stuff like Roms etc without any issues
Thanks for creating this thread! I myself own a Cherry Mobile One! Feel free to join the Facebook group for other discussions as well as files. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CMOne/

My review for the device so far is that it exceeds expectations for a P4,000 device. Having Android Lollipop 5.1 which is even updated more than the Nexus devices is astonishing. Also, gaming has been good so far. Asphalt 8 and Need For Speed Most Wanted both plays smoothly with little to no lag at all. Battery life is also good as it lasts me a day during regular use. Only problem for me is that the battery heats up easily.

Thanks @joeyhuab for posting and sharing your review. I am also enjoying my device now. You are absolutely right about it running the latest Android build in the wild today, but what astonishes me more is how smooth the experience it, compared to my other device (which is a supposed flagship killer). Stock android is the real deal and gives the best user experience IMHO.
I will join the FB group when I get the chance. Cheers!
Cherry Mobile One owner here!
Since the Android One announcement, I was already waiting for this device to be released here in PH. It's worth the wait! I've been a CM fan since the Flare 1 days and I owned several CM units. This is the BEST EVER! I just hope that Google don't abandon this project.
More power to all!

Salamat for posting @nerbiyoso. The good news is they promised updates for up to 2 years. They didn't promise how soon the updates will come following an announcement, but the important thing is, it will reach our devices eventually.
This is actually my first CM phone as I hate capacitive buttons on my devices, but the One hardware is surprisingly good, considering the price tag. Cheers.

Not yet. Apparently they're planning to come out with an update soon to be able to support moving apps to the sdcard.
MyPhone Uno user here! Move to SD is badly needed! Or else will resort to root + link2SD. Having 4GB rom is really hard.... :crying:

We were able to use the MyPhone uno stock ROM in the Cherry Mobile One and it was successful. It added Move to SD support and made the external sd card the default storage.

Well my unit didn't have the issue in the first place, so when I checked again, it still wasn't present. I think it depends on the unit.
I was able to root the myphone Uno. but i think the feature of "sd card as a default storage" got removed. every time an app installs, it installs in the internal storage. is there any way to revert it? and why did it happen? the 4gb internal storage is ugggh. help please.

Hello, aside from Nexus 4 (RIP), Nexus 7 (2012), Moto G (2014) - daily driver, I am proud owner of the Cherry Mobile One! Obviously I am a big fan of stock android UX/UI!
Has anyone tried to unlock bootloader of our device with this tool?

I am on the fence about trying to unlock, root and flash some roms because I still don't see any issues with our device on 5.1

If its rooted then u can install link2sd,in settings set the default storage as external.I don't think our android one device has the option to change the install location in stock ROM settings.I am using micromax canvas a1(android one India),i dont have the option to change the install location, apps get installed in internal then i move the apps to external.Link2sd will solve the issue of selecting install location.
any other alternative for link2sd? I dont wanna wipe my sd card, cause i dont have a place to back it up. or is link2sd really the best option?

NOTE: For now you MUST dial *#*#4636#*#* or use Phone Info from the market and go into phone settings and toggle to GSM only mode then wait for data to come up. Do not toggle to any other mode JUST WAIT.
Google apps are not inclued be sure to download and flash them with the ROM.
What works:
Pretty much everything. Full media codec support for Netflix and YouTube HD, Camera and video camera (front and back), HW acceleration for Google Chrome.
All media codecs are build from source now with omap enhancement from ti omapzoom.org.
Very stoked to see this. I'm going to wait a bit to see if any other ICS Leak-based ROMs release and get an idea how stable they are. I'd be very happy to see MIUI.

The answer will always be no. If a device isn't officially supported, then the ROM won't have the same visibility and expertise that the CM process provides.
They are dhackers roms. Ive been using cm9 for ics leak since 233 came out. I haven't had any issues. He also has aokp for pics leak and aceoyame has miui for the leaks there also.

I have created a flashable ZIP file to replace the First's media_profiles.xml. The changes to the file are the following:
- Increased the amount of available memory for image decoding to 40 MB.
- Increase all image encoding values to 100.
Requirements
Custom Recovery
Root
Instructions
Copy ZIP file to SD card.
Boot into custom recovery.
Flash ZIP file.
Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
Reboot.
I have already tested this on my First, and as far as differences to the image quality, I will leave it up to you guys to decide if it makes a difference or not. The only quantitative measurement I noticed was that 5 MP pictures taken prior to the modification was roughly 1.8 MB, while the pictures taken after the file was replaced is now around 2.4 MB, so hopefully this means there is not as much image compression taking place.
Please provide feedback if this modification makes any difference to your pictures/video recordings!
Can you post before/after images as a comparison?
EDIT:
Mine are below. Left is before, right is after.
Absolutely, please see links below. The first picture is pre-mod, the second one is after.

Mobile data connection doesn't work
Hi,
I was trying your ROM yesterday and I like your work! It looks like a stable ROM, sometimes fall down camera or when I tried install first time some apps, it completly turned off my Optimus Black. But then was OK. However, I've got one question. What about your mobile data and connection to your mobile provider? When I was using last cyanogenmod 10.1 Nightly update, my settings from Czech T-mobile sets automatically and I was able to connect to Edge, GPRS or 3G. But after install your ROM, I hadn't any setting in APN from provider and when I tried set same settings from CM10.1, nothing happened. I had allow data, but any symbols like E, H or 3G. And browser said: net::err_name_not_resolved. I tried also install all again with wipe data/cache and from zip, but problem is still same.
Do you have any advice how to set-up my APN connection or have you try mobile data connection?
Thank you,
Lukas

Personally I don't have data on my phone so I can't replicate this. I'll see what I can find in the CM11 sources that *may* solve the issue. Also yes I am investigating an issue that causes certain actions to shut down the phone completely as it happens to me frequently.
Cheers mate.

black screen issue
After I install the firmware(cm11-debug-aeroi-build2) on the phone, run the phone, everything seems fine. But after when the screen is locked, I cannot unlock it , hardware button backlights is on, but there is no picture on the screen. I flash back cm10 , everythings is working normally. so I confirm that' not the hardware problem .
also same problem on Nameless and ParanoidAndroid !

Radio Fm will unfortunately never be implemented for various reasons, including the proprietary outdated drivers being one.

I'll look into the issue.
Simply put I will host two posts, one for the US variants and the other for N910G.
I'm attempting to fix the data issues and booting issues that occur when trying to boot the ROMs.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
This is an attempt and by no means does it entail that it will work, this is an experiment.
The kernels provided are not created by me and all credits are due to the developers who created them.
The US variant kernel used is created by @freeza and I thank him for creating it.
US variants
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware for your device.
N910V:
DataFix
Multisystem Kernel by @hsbadr
Other US users please download and flash :
Kernel 1
Or if the first one doesn't work.
Kernel 2
(Both kernels created by @freeza)
Stock 5.1.1 N910F ROMs:
Based on COI3:
Data Fix
Based on COJ3:
Data Fix
Note5 Ports: (These should work with stock based ROMs as well.
N910W8:
Data Fix
N910T/T3:
DataFix 1
Data Fix 2
N910P: (4G Doesn't seem to work?).
Data Fix 1
Data Fix 2
Flash DataFix 2 then DataFix 1.
I would advise a clean install, this in an experiment to see if it fixes issues, so make a back-up.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Flash the DataFix.zip
Reboot.
Please report back.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
The kernel can be shared.
N910G
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware or the ROM's matching firmware version for your device.
Download the ROM.zip and then Dr.Ketan_L10 kernel
[Thanks to @dr.ketan for the kernel and thanks to @MBariya for testing it out] This kernel only works with COH4 modem and bootloader.
OR install Nameless Kernel.
Thanks to Nameless Team, Er.Aditya, Crimsonthunder and Senthil360.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Reboot.

Not good phone froze during a call. I flashed back the first firmware, waiting to see if that works. I used the data fix that's labeled note 5 port for w8-T. So far the UI is OK. I'm curious to know if it's the kernel or the data fix that makes itfreeze

Is the kernel necessary to get network or is it just the datafix? If I flash the rom again and the datafix only would it work?

Lol I would imagine the same as well. In most cases the US variants normally have quit the problematic experience but it seems to be the contrary atm. Hope the fix needed for N910G is figured out because this Rom should be enjoyed by all interested. I have a question though. Kyubi Bloatware edition is no longer supported by their developer, is that a precursor to the unbloated variant as well? Sorry in advance if there is no correlation between the two.

We will have to see what happens, I can't guarantee anything regarding the ROM yet.

Did you flash any other mod?
Omni M
Welcome to the Omnirom Marshmallow thread for vibrant. I would like to thank @sooti without him this wouldn't have been possible. He put a lot of work into bringing Marshmallow to the Galaxy S1.
What is omniRom?
Code:
*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot.
*/
Warning!! make sure you have a good charge in your battery, also do not disconnect battery during boot, or you will be stuck in bootloop until you use odin to flash a new kernel
Steps to install:
format data partition to f2fs in TWRP the perform a Full wipe using TWRP (and I mean full wipe! system, data, cache etc)
Install ROM
Install attached gapps
reboot and wait, it takes a long time to boot and once it does its very slow the first time so be patient
recommended: set overclock to 1400 mhz and minimum to 200 to avoid some of the lag, also reboot after setup is complete to clear some memory that wizard uses and caches
Credits
All my credits goes to sooti who work hard to bring Android M for us.
and to falconscrest123 i edit his rom to make this
also to Thanhtho96 for testing the rom
Download
ROM
gapps 6.0
Original thread
Here
Note
After flashing rom first time usage seems to be slow so be patience. If some one got lots of force closing or process stops messages just do factory reset i solves the problem. Here there is no delay in call

As thantho told there is no issue with booting because we both test the rom and upload it. Ok no problem if same boot loop occurs means try to flash this kernel after install rom in TWRP. Here

Thanks bro
Mine vibrant boots rom and works quick, really no delay in caller, but there are some lags:
- volume buttons upside down
- in calls i hear only on speaker mode
- long press of home button does not opening recent apps (in galaxy s tread i found solution to enable software keys, works fine)
- make a try to return to epicboy's build 5.1.1 but twrp says mine vibrant is i9000, how can i fix it?
Big shoutouts for the rom, it's great, hope it get so stable in use than my previous
Marshmallow baby!

bro since there's a kernel issue vibrant's twrp doesn't works after flashing this ROM.. So you have to odin back to stock and again do flashing..
BTW i'm kinda surprised to see you bro.. I didn't knew this stuff.. 3 years ago i have seen one of your video on youtube channel.. This would've not happened without that video of yours.. Keep the good work up bro god bless you
thanks man I thought I had lost my old vibrant I found it today and brought it out to play. I had to watch some of my own videos just get back on track lol... I flashed cm 10.1 then resurrection rom 5.0 just to get twrp then flashed omni 5.1 and got it to boot up. I get some many request for more videos that decided to bring the phone back out to try and do some newer updated videos for people that need help.

bro i suggest CodeROM 5.1.1 it is very stable..
It really whips the lama's ass!
I love this ROM so far.
Problems I've got:
- I'm receiving calls with no sound (fortunately it's a secondary/testing phone).
- The hardware buttons Home and Back are inverted.
- I cannot get the multitasking menu long-pressing any button.
Apart from that, everything look fine.
Congratulations, and thanks for this great port!
thanks I will give it a try can't wait for this 6.0.1 rom to be fully working.
