Just for your knowledgement, now to access the fastboot/flashmode in new firmwares you must press volume key (+ or - ) power button and plug the cabble with the phone powered off.
Problem solved.

The phone automatically reboots but I can't see flashlight to get into recoveries and stucks at Sony logo. Have you tried to connect to pc, and type adb reboot recovery (with adb installed on pc)?
Firstly download and install minimal adb
Download doomlord's adb drivers..
Then if on windows 8
Disable driver signature enforcement and then install the adb drivers in doomlord's thread.
(Fast boot drivers, flashmode drivers and viskan drivers)
Then extract boot.img of your favourite ROM (which has a recovery) and copy paste it in the folder where you installed minimal adb.
First connect the USB cable to the PC.
Restart your phone by hard reset and as soon as it shows Sony logo, keep pressing power button plus volume down.
Now a blue light will be coming.
Then
Hold shift and right click there and open command promt here..
Make sure the blue light is still there in the illumination bar and type in
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will install a new boot.img which has a recovery
And then restart
Then go into recovery and flash your favourite ROM...
Hope I helped..
This method worked for me many times...
problem solved, thx guys
my damn usb cable was the reason why fastboot did not change to fastboot usb
new cable, no probs
yay!!!!
hope anybody can help me....
my Google NexusOne is not running any rom
if i start the phone its starting 1-3 secs as normal than it stucks by the anDROID logo...
but if i start into the bootloader mode/fastboot - i can`t start recovery cause the phone restarts after that in the bootloader mode.´again...
if i plug in the usb cable - theres only FASTBOOT MODE but not the fastboot-mode USB
with the result that i can`t flash any boot.img or custom rom by adb/fastboot console
if i want to do anything by ADB-console/cmd-console the computer can`t not find my devices
who can help me....thx so many for your attention....
Hi guys! I need your help. I have z1 with ROOT and custom recovery and i would like to update it to android m. The main probleme - bootloader, i should unlock it. But i can't do it because phone doesn't determined by pc in fastboot mode or flashmode and when phone is off doesn't determined at all. But even when phone is on, pc detected phone not always, just sometimes, and phone doesn't charging. ADB drivers is installed, drivers for flashtool mode and fastboot is installed. Command window says "waiting for device" when i want to boot my phone in fastboot. When phone is on ADB works fine. So i've read many topics about problems like that and didn't find the solution. Maybe can anybody help me please?
In ADB , use the command: adb reboot bootloader
The phone will reboot and you'll be in fastboot mode and the phone will show a deep blue notification light.
You need to install fastboot drivers from the driver package bundled along with flashtool before this. So u have to donwload flashtool first
Also, if u're going to unlock the bootloader then back up your TA partition.

Yeah, I did it, the phone was showing blue led, but then it goes nothing, then pc doesn't "see" the phone. I have already installed flashtool and drivers with it for fastest and flashtool. Also I have already made a backup of TA through flashtool.
So I can do something with phone through flashtool or adb when phone is on, but when phone is off I can't do anything. I have heard that reason of that problem can be broken phone's USB port. What do you think?
And sorry for my terrible English
I've connected phone to pc in flashmode through NDR Utils, but fastboot still doesn't work
honestly, im stumped!! . AFAIK its not a problem with the usb port cuz as you said it works fine with adb. Did you try a different usb cable.
You should probably try to reinstall the fastboot drivers
But if you just wanna unlock the bootloader then you can do that with flashtool I think.

Yes, but to unlock bootloader through flashtool I should go to fastboot
wait, does the blue led come on and disappear?? it sounds like a loose USB cable

Hi! It's me again And i still didn't solved my probleme. So, i can connect my phone to PC and it recognize as Android device -> ADB interface, and as Xperia z1. If i just connect powered off phone to PC or connect phone in flash mode, then it recognize as USB devices -> SOMC Flash Device, is it right? Ok, when i want to connect phone in fastboot, phone shows blue LED and it goes nothing, PC don't determine the phone and i can't unlock bootloader
Hi,
I wanted to install Lineage OS on my Sony Xperia XZ2 compact. It has the latest stock firmware installed.
adb devices lists my device, preconditions are ok (bootloader unlock yes and debugging enabled and authorized)
adb reboot bootloader: the phone turns off, red light for 3 seconds, vibration, cyan light and black screen
fastboot devices simply does nothing
turn phone on again
turn off phone
hold volume down + power on -> vibration, "SONY" appears, "SONY" disappears, vibration, phone boot into normal work mode
I do not get into fastboot mode
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Ghost

Can you try
Code:
fastboot getvar all
If your device is recognized correctly it should either give you a long list of values or an error.
Else you get something like "Waiting for devices".
< waiting for any device >
nothing else

Okay. Then it makes sense that "fastboot devices" shows nothing.
Your problem is that your computer doesn't detect your phone in fastboot mode.
I think your cable should be okay (since adb works) but maybe you need some additional drivers?
You can also try solutions you find in the web if you search something like this:
Computer doesn't detect phone in fastboot

Or "Windows" instead of "Computer" if you use windows etc.

Ok, I got it. I did not turn "driver signature enforcement" off on my Win 10 system (but I got no error during driver install). After switching off "driver signature enforcement" and re-installed the adb and fastboot drivers, I got a warning that a driver without signature will be installed. I confirmed that warning and now fastboot is working well.
Hello, hopefully someone can help me.
I have the same problem as mentioned above. I also tried to deactivate driver signature and install new but it didn't work. Maybe I did it wrong.
I used this command and rebooted with deactivated driver signature.
shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
I also tried to install specific adb drivers for xperia xz2c manually instead of universal adb drivers.
Any more ideas?
Thanks and regards
I'm facing the same problem. I've installed multiple adb drivers, with and without driver signature enforcement, and nothing works.
adb works fine, and device is listed, but as soon as I do an adb reboot bootloader, the device is gone. Also, for some reason, I do not see any cyan blue LED lighting up in my unit (the LED itself does work though).
Was able to fix it. The trick is to start the phone into fastboot (vol down+power), and then go to Device Manager and install the drivers from Sony on the recognized device.

Hi, a.bispo, do you have any link for these driver because I have tried several on sony website and none work for me.
Thank you,
I got them from Sony's website as well.
The trick was putting the phone into fastboot, letting Windows recognize it, and then manually install those drivers' files.
Just an update from my experience: I had to go into device manager and select an alternative driver for the Android! device that popped up. Not sure if this is mandatory or not but I did this after the fastboot devices step where my device isn't detected.
