Running quite well here since last night.
Thanks for this!
I can't seem to get the flash to stick. I am running stock 6.16.651.2, TWRP 2.8.5, SElinux in permissive mode, busybox installed.
Recovery says its successful, but when I check with trickster mod it reports the stock kernel.
Any suggestions?

No. You need to find an insecure boot.img (as I have the vzw model I am not familiar with what's available to you in this forum). Others have commented about this in my other thread for GPE and AOSP. The inscure boot.img replaces your stock ramdisk with a tweaked one that disables write protection.

I don't know if thats the case but I had the same issue. Solved it by TWRP backup stock rom and flashing custom rom and restore the backup without boot section. Maybe you could do it on fastboot command too. It will be easier, but I'm not sure.

How do i enable DT2W and S2W ???
Found some apps on Play store that claim to enable these features, but all of them tell me that the kernel does not support it.

I used fastboot: fastboot flash boot [boot.img]
(Extract the image file from the .zip first)
For those who can't/don't get an app to control the functions, just edit the init.d file. It's located in system/etc/init.d/01Elite
Can someone post the CPU governor profile definitions? "Ondemand" & "powersave" are pretty self explanatory, but what is "optimax, smartmax, user space, & msm-dcvs"?
Thanks

Q: Will you add feature "X" to your kernel?
A: There is one chance that I add it to my kernel. simply post this question in the thread and if I find it usefull, I will implement it. Otherwise not.
Q: What are the best settings for a balanced using between battery saving and performance?
A: This settings are already the default ones. Because this default values are my personal settings, so this will be the best balance between power and battery .
Q: When is the next update coming?
A: As soon as possible. I am working really hard on bringing you a good update. That means also I have to test everything etc. I wont deliver you updates with big bugs! I better take my time and make everything working

Smooth ( using smartassV2 ) but doesn't have too much customization options
I mean Only 6 governor ( smartassV2 , performance , interactive , conservation , ondemand , powersave )
Overclocking limited to 1300
No new I/O Schedulers ( cqf , noop , row , deadline )
advantages: Z-RAM , UKMS
What suggested configuration?

use kernel adiutor app to control the kernel
i will not going to add all that fancy stuff which might break the kernel in my stable releases(why anyone would use my kernel if it breaks things ) i have added the most stable stuff in this and for governers take this example i will add 15 to 16 goverers some is causing random reboots ,some heating up the device and some just behaves strangely so will you use my kernel for that? i am not saying i am not going to add the features,i am just saying i will add the feature which i think would be stable but still if you want that stuff i will make some experimental builds

Please add swap ram support and GPU tweak
@coderdroid
Quick personal opinion, is it better to have standard CPU steps (350-600-800-1200...) or will it be an advantage to have more steps (300-400-500-600...), and how about under clocking, is it possible for our device? As I can't find any kernel did it,yet. Also the GPU tweaking, seems like mostly non doable on our device?
BTW, am dloading your kernel, will report if none did yet(any bugs or anything).
Osm kernel plz add swap support too

Would a boot.img backup in this case suffice? I haven't flashed the kernel yet but a boot image backup would contain the old kernel as well. The question is mostly if there are any other modifications that are being done.

If you don't have the zip file, I would say, you could restore the boot and system partition from your backup, this should bring back the backuped kernel.

Kernel works great so far. No issues and performance feels good.
What's the best way to switch between SELinux permissive and enforcing on this kernel should one want to experiment with that? Some solutions don't seem to like KNOX but it should be disabled on the kernel, too, right? I'm still struggling to get Magisk Hide working so I'm feeling experimentative.

I am a happy camper.
I was hoping for ElementalX. I have has ElementalX on my Nexus 6P then my Essential PH-1.

WOO! ElementalX! So @flar2 I'm coming from a Nexus 6 (shamu). Do OnePlus phones have forced encryption like the shamu did? If so, is it a simple flag set in the kernel? Thanks!

You may block some wakelocks.
I wouldnt recommend it but, you may underclock cpu frequencies to get more juice at cost of performance

Hey bro, I'm on havos OS (pie). Been on havoc for as long as I can remember (for months) and I love the ROM. Never had this issue until I flashed the kernel last night. Sure its not related?

It should be easier to use adb and fastboot on linux. I do all my kernel development and flashing from a terminal in Linux

Adb and fastboot works just fine. But i am no expert to use that stuff. I have no I issues to say that some people like you are better than me at that those things
Thank you, all is working fine! Great!
Thanks!! Flashed now. Can you please explain, what means touch boost? Is it supposed to help with typing on display etc. ? Cause calibration of display is horrible on OP8 Pro. My OP7 Pro was MUCH better.

Touch boost is a short boost to the CPU's clock speed when the device detects a touch. Nothing to do with display calibration, but it might help. By default, touch boost is enabled, if I'm not mistaken.
I tried to use the built in colour calibration tool to help with the slight green tint what I have at lower brightness levels, but it just makes everything more red and blue and that's not better either.
I'm not sure what is K-lapse supposed to do though.
i always disable touch boost
Thank you for this ?

One last question ?.
I'm using a custom kernel now on OOS 10.5.6. can I flash your kernel over it, or should I go back to the stock kernel first?

Flash the stock boot.img first, as the other custom kernel might have changed the ramdisk
