Email notification help

Hi
I have my galaxy s on the latest jph firmware and rooted and ryans lagfix applied. I am really pleased at the moment with the phone apart from an issue with email notification.
I have created shortcuts to my email acounts on my home screen but when i get emails it does not notify me on the homescreen only in the task bar. On my htc desire it tells me how many i have in each acount. Any ideas what im doing wrong or how i get around it.
Thanks

[Q] how to question regarding an icon

My friend has Galaxy S and due to an error she erased some of her icons from the Home screen. While most of them could be restored, I cannot find any way to restore the "compose message" (or was it "write message") which used to go directly to send an SMS. I'm not looking to add some specific contact, just the shortcut to send sms.
Well I'm not sure about this because I myself cannot find what you're looking for. However, why not use the text app shortcut?

[q] linking market sms app to lockscreen

I think only Orb Unlock (Puzzle Unlock) and Glass Unlock (Screen swipe) are able to display stock SMS notifications on the lockscreen.
Since I'm using GoSMS, is there a way for when I unlock with the "Missed text" icon on the lockscreen it brings me to GoSMS and not the stock SMS?
I don't remember if it was an older version of the ROM I'm on (Serendipity) that when I unlock the Missed Text icon when it has 2+ missed messages, it asks me what app to open for it. But that doesn't happen anymore. And when you unlock it with 1 missed text, it automatically opens with the stock SMS. <~ Might even be on a different ROM but I don't remember which, either way... I can't figure out how to get it to work the way I described.

If anyone is using serendipity and the orb/ glass unlock that enables stock SMS on the lock screen, any of you having a problem where the stock SMS opens quite slow when you open it through the lock screen?
Also still wondering how to link after market SMS apps to be used in lock screen as well

Hi:
I too would like to use Handcent with the stock (AT&T) puzzle indicator. I have found several threads with this question asked, but none have answers. Does anyone know if this is even possible? If so, how?
Or is it just impossible?
Thanks!
MikeyMike01 said you would need to hack the sms app. Since they aren't open source, I don't think it's possible.

Unread message count bubble on mail/sms?

Hey everyone,
I googled around but I cannot find an answer. My boss also has an HTC one since yesterday, and his shows an unread messages number on the email icon on his home screen (default HTC e-mail app). He says it was there from the beginning.
Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this? I am running stock Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 (unrooted).

I use Nova Launched with Tesla Unread
Yes that is an option, but I use a lot of HTC widgets which I can't use with Nova right? I also use Blinkfeed a lot. Any other ideas?

You mean this (screenshot below)? It should show the unread count, but if you swipe away the notification in the status bar, the unread count will also go away.

[Q] Tasker "Received Text" Event Doesn't Work

Hi, I just recently switched to this phone from xperia s. I noticed that the "received text" event on Tasker simply doesn't work with the stock sms app. I am currently on .534 firmware, rooted. Is there any workaround for this issue?
