[Q] How To Get Better Batterylife On Z3C - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I wonder, how to get that 2 day battery as promised? I see people posting 11h OST and wonder how do they get it? And Does Root Improve or worse the batterylife? I get on stock .77 5h OST And offtopic does phone factory restart delete root on Z3C? Back in .97 i had really nice batterylife, but now it looses 1% per 1-3 min. I flashed back to 97 but the batterylife didnt change, so I OTA uptated then.

[Q] ROM with best battery life

I'm searching for custom ROM that has at least a decent battery life.
I'm on Darky's v10.1, but I'm getting Android OS bug very often (and then battery lasts for 5-6 hours), and when I'm not, battery life is around 10-12 hours. I'm pretty annoyed that my battery can't last for whole day and I'm looking for ROM that will give me at least 16 hours of battery life. Also it's preffered that ROM is pretty fast too. Thank you
Try XWJSD, the latest 2.2.1 firmware. Batery life is prety good and it is the fastest froyo so far. On my phone about 35 hours on normal usage..
Oh, I would like to have Gingerbread firmware, I don't feel like degrading my phone back to froyo :/
That's strange cos I'm on Darky's v10.1 and it's the best I've found so far. Battery is lasting me about 16 hrs on average, depending on what I use it for. Day to day use of calls, lots of texts, some internet and some pics can see 16hrs.
There is always this option: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1930mAh-REPLACEMENT-BATTERY-SAMSUNG-I9000-GALAXY-S-/250807245269?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a6546d9d5
Well, I guess it depends on what you use it for - but it's not enough for me. And I heard this battery isn't making much difference...
Ok, thanks for letting me know about the battery replacement. I was considering one of them for myself
Hey, unsure if this will interest you or not, but I use Juice Defender ultimate and it is absolutely amazing!
Depending on your usage (much of the time my phone is idling) and whatever settings you set, this app will make your battery last a very long time.
I've just check my phone's battery usage and after 15 hours I'm still on 78% battery.
Obviously these figures would change dramatically with more usage but just thought there wasn't any harm in letting you know about it if you didn't already know. 8)
PS: I'm using Darky's ROM v10.1.
I have the following ROM and battery consumption is very low. Try it and comment.
PDA: I9000XWJVH
Phone: I9000BUJV3 from BUJV9.
CSC: I9000OXAJVK
KERNEL :Voodoo test 6.0 de supercurio.
If you prefer, you can change the CSC file for another.
Greetings.
juwe's rom, always wifi on, with aggressive use more than 1 day,
moderate use 2 days
only calls and sms more than 2 and a half day!
try "Advance task killer" app
keep it to stop all program when screen off
and you will see the battery, better than before

Better battery life and performance!

Just wanting to see what mods/apps you all are using to get the best battery life and performance out of your s5 I'm currently using
Rom: DynamicKat 2.0
Greenify with boost on
DS battery saver custom profile
Lux auto brightness
I'm getting a benchmark of 37000
And I'll attatch a ss of my current battery, i normally go 5-6 hours before I'm below 20% but I'm over 4 now and still above 60%
How much screen on time are you getting? 4&1/2 hours on battery and already down to 64% doesn't seem very good. I'm getting much longer times than that. I'm on Stock Rom, rooted, running Greenify.
same here, i get pretty good life. on very low use day, about 2.2%/hour. on heavy usage about 3-4%/hour. 4%/hour = about 20 hours give or take (gotta figure that screen on time is going to make it less than the actual maximum %/hr)
some days im at about 40% when i get done with my day, others im at like 55%. but still its from about 9am to 12:30am, about 16 hours-ish.
before i bought my zerolemon 8500 battery. i tested stock battery and for every 1 of screen on time, that would be 25% of the battery on stock.is that good or bad?

I keep my screen on pretty much all day it's very rare that I go 30 minutes without it being on
Battery life
By the end of a work day, my battery is usually around 50-60%. On weekends I don't recharge it at all, including this last 3-day weekend. It was at 43% Monday night. I never turn it off, I check it often as I get a lot of email.
I am running Dynamic Kat, just upgraded to 3.0. I use no apps to extend battery life. I turn off my wifi when I go to bed, turn it back on when I get up. Note that I NEVER turn data on.

[Q] Battery drain after i applied new system update

My phone is draining very fast after installing the 23.0.1.a.5.77 update, was so happy with the good battery life i had before. Now its like all the other smartphones i had in the past

Hi benjih!
I double that. Before update I had about 1 d 10h on a full battery charge without Stamina, etc. Since update full battery charge lasts for only 20-21 h. Seems like a significant drop.
Anybody else having the same issue after update to 23.0.1.a.5.77?
First charge cycle after updating didn't last as long as usual, but now back to normal. 50 hours on current charge with 4 hours screen on and 22% remaining.
Don't know why but when you flash your phone with new firmware or update the firmware the battery needs a few charges to stabilise. This is a known fact and happens in most cases that's why many people are stating bad battery life after a update but back to normal after a while relax guys.

4.1.0 battery drain

Since update to 4.1.0 - quite heavy battery drain. From 100% to 35% in about 8 hours which is very unusual for me. I usually get 36 hours.
Am seeing in battery usage that says Android OS 11% and Android system at 9%, phone idle 6%
I'm not rooted or bootloader unlocked. Just updates via OTA from 4.0.3
I've tried clearing cache from recovery and cache from phone storage.
Any suggestions or is it factory reset?
Hasn't happened to me since the update. You should at least try with a factory reset before worrying about anything.
Just let it settle for couple of days and check then again.
Don't clear davlik/ART from recovery if suffering from battery drain. Remember on past android versions after doing that or clean flashing? It would spend a lot of time "android is optimising", Nougat now processes this in the background at a lower level of CPU over god knows how long.
So i would just let it settle for a few days and then judge.
Saying that i clean flashed 4.1 over OB3 and recovered my backup and it's not too bad on my side.
Running 4.1 stock with blu_spark.

Oh yes. If anything, battery life has gotten worse and worse for each new release of Oxygen.

The best battery life i had was on 4.0.3 with Franco, I had no Android OS or system drain. Somehow managed to get 7 hours and 41 minutes of screen on time. 4.1 has frequent drain of about 4% every hour but if anything its all the things settling down. I will update after few more days.
I have a real problem with WhatsApp and social apps in this release, their consume are huge...
It oddly got better, I'm doing a little worse than 4.0.3 at the moment but i'm sure it will get better! I took off my phone from the charger before going to bed and when i woke up it was at 92% ; I slept for 11 hours. Its rather odd that once i turned off my finger print scanner, I was able to get even better battery life. I managed 6 hours and 52 minutes. Can someone else confirm if the fingerprint scanner plays a role or not?

Battery life question

When I got this phone battery was amazing. I Always got about 6-8 hours of SOT, but now it seems worse. Now Im barely getting 5 hours and sometimes worse. Should I be worried or this is issue of somekind? Phone is about 1 month old.

SOT depends on various factors liks singal strength, usage pattern, softwares installed etc. It wont be same as before. Are you running completely stock or rooted? I am getting descent battery life with custom kernel (franco) and freedom os. But again sot changes based on my usage. And 5 hours of sot is good i would say.

Thanks for answer. Its completely stock, no root, no anything. Guess it's my usage that changes from time to time.

Make sure your phone has been or still is set up correctly for power savings as your settings may have reverted to stock after performing an update. Go in to your settings, battery, menu (3 dots), there you will see auto close high usage apps (turn it on if not on) and aggressive doze...(turn this on and go down your list enabling it for everything as if it causes problems with apps you can always come back and disable it for that app). Presto you should see your phone go from approx 5 hours left to over 8 hours left.
