Hi
My X8i was happily running Floyobread v0.3 but I decided to fiddle and installed ginger dx, all fine had a good play and decided to go back to floyo. used xrecovery to restore the backup I had made of the phone running floyo before I tried ginger.
This resulted in a bricked phone, stuck at the sony ericsson title.
So eventually recovered the phone by flashing it back to standard, and then updating using the sony ericsson PC companion. So back to a fully functional running standard phone.
I then rerooted the phone, installed xrecovery etc.
Now everytime I try and install another ROM (tried at least 6 different ones) they all install OK but end up being in an endless loop of their own logos, the one after the sony ericsson one.
What am i doing wrong?
John
Interesting...Well, the first thing that comes in mind is the full wipe. Did you do a full wipe after each installation?
when you say full wipe do you mean the wipe option in xrecovery?
If so then yes.
Also completely formatted the sd card - in desperation more than anything else!
Hi,
Ever since i moved to JB (I have changed many JB ROMs) one common problem is hindering me a lot.
My Mobile internet gets disconnected automatically and in order to get reconnected, only way is to clear CACHE & DALVIK CACHE from CWM and reboot.
Is there any way to solve this issue.
Hello guys,
So i flashed CM 10.1 on my Sony Xperia Z but i have a problem. All of a sudden the phone crashed and when i rebooted it, i had no cell reception anymore. What i've done to make it work again:
- Flash back to stock: no probel with cell reception, evertything works but back in cyanogenmod it fails again
- Format /cache, /data and /system with CWM
- Updated to the latest version of CM
- I called *#*#4636#*#* and tried to turn on the radio in 'phone information' (=> button always says "turn on radio")
- I cannot find the modem.bin file (isn't it supposed to be in the /system/venoder directory?)
Does anyone have another idea?
Thanks!
Update: I tried to create an apn with the settings of my provider, that doesn't help either
getting it up again..
Hello, ive had my Xperia Z a few weeks now, it has a locked bootloader which has never been unlocked, i rooted my device, flashed CWM, backed up my existing rom and then installed a new one, but i lost all my contact/system info so i restored my previous backup. It said restoring, then 'Failed to Mount /System.' I rebooted device, it just hangs on the Sony logo. The first time this happened i used the Update Service program to reinstall software and factory reset the phone fine, but now it says the battery is below 50% and it will not proceed.
When i plug the phone into the charger, the red light stays on, (Doesnt change colour) and it just hangs on the Sony logo, i cant access recovery menu either.. Anyone have any advice for me ?
Cheers
Switch it off and leave it charging for an hour or 2 then try the update service again

Help please. It happened to me too.
I upgrade my firware to .67, root, dual recovery, no problem. but the problem happens when i followed this thread for deodex http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458411
"Copy the rom to your microSD
Backup any important data to your microSD
Boot into recovery and do a nandroid backup first
If you have CWM: select Wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache, go into 'mounts and storage' and select Format /system, then /data, then /cache"
Then i tried to reboot recovery, but i choose "**Back** , then it reboot and have a red LED light with a Sony logo. It just stays there, what should i do? Please help...
I'll try to give as much information as I can here.
I wanted to downgrade Android from 5.1.1 to 4.4 as Lollipop in general was giving me so many issues it was making my phone unusable. So I looked up as much as I could, downloaded the latest Flashtool and the 14.4.A.0.108 Central European 1 version of KitKat.
During the flashing process I did not select a wipe of userdata as I wanted to see if I could keep what was on my phone without having to do so. I also checked the box to wipe applogs, as I wasn't sure what that was and 'what was the harm?' I thought. I couldn't find anything about what that actually was, so I don't know.
Now it is stuck in a boot loop, but thankfully phone can be turned off. Flashtool is giving me an error when I try to flash it again, so all further details are below. This was my first time using Flashtools and doing anything of this kind, so please try to be nice. Thank you.
- Customisation Version 1276-4318_R2D (Not sure if this is relevant)
- Able to enter Flash Mode and Fastboot
- No recovery mode, Stock ROM with developer options but I think it has a locked bootloader (not really sure what this means)
- No SD card, but I backed up what I wanted to keep on the PC.
- All drivers for phone are up to date on computer, but Sony PC Companion (including repair mode) requires phone to be on and connected I believe.
- I tried to flash it again but this time wiping everything, except Flashtool gives error of 'Processing of loader.sin finished with errors' and then aborts the flashing process.
EDIT: Finally successfully flashed 4.4 to the phone.
Now I have a couple of new problems.
1. The screen keeps randomly clicking/moving itself.
2. My back/home/etc buttons at the bottom of the screen still aren't responding quickly, and I get quite a bit of lag using them.
it is due to dirty flash, I guess, reflash with wiping selected and it should be OK
