[Q] Problem with SIM2 on XT1068 after Lollipop UPgrade - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently purchase a Moto G 2014 XT1068. While setting up the phone I got the message asking if I wanted to upgrade to Lollipop and so I did the upgrade before setting up everything. Now when I try to create an APN for SIM2 I get the message "Access Point Name Services not available for this user". The sim card is from OneSinCard and I know it works because I installed it in a Samsung dual sim phone I have and I was able to create an APN and get mobile data service on both AT&T and T-Mobile. I also tried inserting a sim card from Telestial with the same error message - can't create an APN. And when I install the Telestial sim card in the Samsung phone I can create an APN and the mobile data works.
I've tried a number of solutions on the Moto G 2015 XT1068 including:
1. factory reset
2. starting in safe mode
3. taking out the sim cards and reinstalling
Any other suggestions or should I just wait to see if Lollipop 5.1 solves the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have noted in my original post that I did try clearing the system cache, but it did not solve the problem.

When I insert my other sim card to my o4x, it always shows that error and will have no signal. After 10 seconds, it will have a signal and will show that error again. Is it the sim card the problem? The error wont show when I insert other sim card. That sim card works on other phones.
Clear data and cache in phone and maybe even contacts under all apps
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S

I had the same problem, you have to factory reset.
Edit: By flashing older firmware version.

This happens to me when I flash Hong Kong FW, only factory reset solves it. make sure you backup internal phone memory pics music...etc.
Than go to airplane mode open dialer type 3845#*880# chose factory reset and there you go :good:
May I know how to flash it to the old firmware sir? Didn't worked in factory reset.

[Q] data connection issue since lollipop update

Hi All,
Wondering if you can help, since I updated my moto g 2nd gen with the latest update I cannot get a data connection, I have done a factory reset but still nothing. Checked my APN settings and they are correct. I have had a look on google and there does appear to be users with the same issue but no real fix that I can see other than changing it to a different sim slot but only one sim slot works on my device so I cant even test it! Any other ideas or has anybody else had this issue?
Thanks
delete all APN ... reboot test...if the phone didn't autoconfig the APN, you do it.
SS yours APN config before deleted... and check if the parameter of APN is correct by google in it....

No It did not work
I have tried Multiple time factory reset and Back up . But still the same issue

Ever since I changed my band priority my phone says no sim card.

I was on the latest stock Nexus 6 rom. I have ringplus as my provider and the signal hasn't been very good at my house so I tried to change the band priority by dialing *#*#3282#*#*. So I did that saved and rebooted ever since it says "no sim card". I removed and wiped the sim card clean and put it back in and still says no sim card. I never had any problem with the sim card before. I can't dial *#*#3282#*#* anymore to change the band priority or access any of the cellular network settings.
I have since installed the latest Pure Nexus custom rom to see if that fixed anything. And still the same "no sim card" error. I currently don't have another sim card to test. I likely won't get another sim card before Wednesday. Anyone know what went wrong? or if there is anything I can do to fix it? Is it possible I could wipe the band priority settings I changed in the first place?
Thanks for any help.
Download a factory image and flash it. That should completely reset your Nexus. Save everything you want to keep in internal storage beforehand.
Thanks i'll try that.

This wont work as what he did is lower then the software layer. He will have to go back into that setting and change it back.
Word of advise. Leave those settings alone. They are not meant for people to mess with and unless you are a tech for the carrier then you dont have the proper tools to test things out.
Thanks for the help you two. Flashing the factory rom did end up fixing it. I couldn't go back into those settings after I changed them. The number you dial to get to those band priority settings no longer worked.

HELP Phone can't register to network after root

Hi guys, I'm in real mess here !
I tried rooting my phone using the magisk patch method, everything went as planned except I forgot to uncheck the "Auto reboot" mark in odin.
so after flashing the patched firmware my phone went on bootloop.
I did later reflash it properly and everything works fine including root, Except it's always on "Emergency calls only"
My SIM card works fine, I can use WIFI, I can read IMEI everything looks just fine but I can't register to network.
I've tried reflashing stock firmware, another firmware, wipe cache wipe data,.... nothing works.
I desperately need help guys if anyone has any idea!
Try another SIM card if working. Also check the APN settings of your mobile network. You may have to manually enter the correct APN settings.
Hi Guys,I have the same problem in my rooted sumsung j7 prime. Someone kindly assist
