I tried 3 ways.
cellphone: Samsung Galaxy s3 gt-i9305 android 4.3
1) Kies3, kies to connect the computer recognizes that there is a upgrade and follow the steps. do the backup, press on with the update and after spending hours downloading files from the update tells me it does not recognize the device even re-installing the drivers. (That and I have done several times and always wasting time waiting hours while kies download again and again the firmware).
2-) OTA, is the upgrade for the phone right? Good tells me there is a new update android 4.4.4 OS weighing 592MB, unfortunately I have no wifi so I tried to update it with my telephone mbs plan. But there comes a time when the download is falling and losing 64% mbs.
3) Odin online there are many tutorials and I've tried several times also, the version I've used is the v3.09, the tutorial says it must recognize the disposito yellow leaves me but I like light blue. Similarly I follow the process but always remains in "odin get pit for mapping" after a few minutes out failed.
Well I tried these 3 ways to upgrade and I could not, now I have several problems with the phone the greater is that sometimes get calls and sometimes not.
please help.

Hi folks, looking for some help here please.
I have a samsung galaxy s on the three network in the UK.
I have not rooted or applied any lag fixes to it at present as i dont want to invalidate the warranty at such an early stage.
The official Froyo update became available via Kies this morning and i tried to update.
The phone connected to Kies alright, it downloaded the binary file OK and then stated it would start instal.
The progress bar did not move but my laptop made the sound when a USB device disconnects, then a second or two later made the same sound which i was taking to mean that the phone had reconnected, however Kies came up with a message that the connection had been terminated and then another message stating there had been an unexpected error and that the upgrade had failed.
It then offered to recover the phone.
Instructions were to remove the cable, remove the battery, start phone in recovery mode and then to reconnect cable. I did all of this but when i reconnect the cable, my phone is not recognised as having connected and nothing else happens.
If i restart phone it works OK on old firmware but if i try upgrading again, Kies gives a message that a previous upgrade failed and i should attempt recovering firmware. I have been at this for hours now with no joy.
I have two options in Kies, either to attempt upgrade again which always ends in error message that unexpected error occured, or to attempt recovery and in this case my phone is not shown as connected. When i start in recovery mode should i select any option or just leave it at the screen that appears.
At this point i really dont want to try any other firmwares or fixes so would really appreciate if anyone has had similar problems being able to throw me a lifeline.
Thanks for any help.
Sorry i cant help you but are you on payg or contract with 3?, im on contract with 3 but kies is not showing any firmware upgrade for me
I have had a three contract since they began, however i bought the samsung galaxy s about a month ago to replace my Nokia N86 as i fancied a change and didnt want to wait almost a year. So basically it is my contracted sim into a bought PAYG phone.
I have been following the posts at blog.three (sorry not able to post full URL) and they reported on Friday that the update would be here soon. Logged in to Kies this morning and it stated an update was due. My head is bursting with this as i have read so many posts and tried so many instals, and reinstals of Kies, i have tried upgrading with Sim card and SD card removed, still no joy. i am beginning to wonder if there is another flaw with the three version of froyo. Good luck anyway.
p.s, asking if i was on PAYG or contract made me think, so i tried putting the PAYG sim card in that i got with the phone, connected to Kies and upgrade still available however same error when trying to upgrade. The rollout may be by region or by banks of phone numbers, so you should get it shortly, although heres hoping it works for you
Thanks for the reply Doc, could you pm me that url pls?
Good luck to you with solving your problem.
Doc, just to let you know you aren't alone - I too have the same problem - tried it on both computers - says the update is available, it starts the download, the knocks the phone into download mode before coming up with an error message. I have tried to put it into recovery mode and it still fails - however I can just restart the phone and the old firmware is still in place.
No lagfix/root etc. Just a bog standard three phone.
Anyone who could help please!!!!!!!!
Ok, I was at the stock Froyo 2.2 update yesterday and saw 2.3.5 GB and installed using ODIN. There's a couple of aggravating features, mainly every time I plug in via usb or AC, the tethering process crashes. I don't even use tethering and don't know how to disable this process.
Anyways, all I want to do is return to the stock AT&T froyo. I've tried several one click packages for ODIN to return to stock, I CAN get into download mode, but once its plugged into the PC it says its installing device drivers, then it always fails. I tell Windows to search, and of course it can't find any.
How can I get this to work again, all I want is my 2.2 back
Read this thread
I have a rooted GT-P6210 that was working perfectly fine and last night I updated Busy Box Free from Google Play. Busy Box Free reported an error with the install and shortly after I noticed that my Wi-Fi would no longer connect. It just reports "Error" after trying to connect to Wi-Fi.
I tried re-rooting my device but that didn't fix my Wi-Fi issues. I researched everywhere I could think of to unroot my device but all the threads seem to refer to guides that I don't see and firmware links that no longer work. I managed to find a copy of Odin3-v3.04 but I still don't have instructions on how to do it nor do I have the firmware that I need.
I decided I would try going back to factory settings by powering off the device and booting into system recovery. I have done a wipe data/factory reset multiple times but Wi-Fi still doesn't work and I don't even know if that removed the root job I did.
When I plug my device into my PC and run Samsung Kies it reports that I have the latest firmware PDA:LA3 / CSC:LA3 (XAR)
So I am stuck and not sure what to do at this point. I have a pretty useless device that won't connect to Wi-Fi. I don't know if I wait around for ICS and install that if it will fix my problem.
Is there anyone that could help me restore my device to factory settings with actual guides, and provide working links to the firmware I would need?
Thanks for your help,
Bryson
You are in the wrong forum.
This is Galaxy Tab 7" not plus.
Might be better asking at the right place

I've been wanting to upgrade my Gear to Tizen ever since I heard it was coming out. May 30th comes and goes and it seems that every country in the world except the US received the update via Samsung themselves. Fast-forward a month and a half and I'm getting impatient.
I have a Mac. I downloaded the BTU firmware from SamMobile.com. I tried flashing the update using Heimdall without any luck. I decided to use my mom's PC to try flashing it via Odin (using v3.09, if it's relevant), except because I'm so used to Mac, I didn't think to update her USB drivers. Needless to say, things didn't go smoothly.
Now, I'm stuck with a Gear that says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." Kies is stupid and won't give a stock recovery unless Kies itself tried installing the upgrade.
So, how do I get my Gear working again? At this point, I'd just like my Gear to be functional again and I appreciate all help anyone can give, though if anyone can help me out with getting the Tizen update as well, that'd be great.
EDIT: Read the rules, did a search. Seems the problem could be that I used a NL1 ROM instead of an NE9. I'll try that again when the file downloads. Now, my bigger question is, do I need to go through any recovery procedures before trying again?
EDIT 2: Looks like the NE9 ROM did the trick. Sorry for wasting anyone's time. That said, all of SamMobile's firmwares for the Gear are NL1, so anyone else looking to update, be sure to find a NE9 ROM.
I am running Android 7.0. I noticed that there has not been a security patch since 2017. I check for software update and there is one available that's almost half of a gig. I go through the steps to update. During restart, the progress indicator stops at 35% and phone starts up with the message that the update failed as it was interrupted. I have tried several times with same result even after factory reset. Also tried in Safe mode. Also connected to PC and SmartSwitch and says software is up to date. Phone works fine but it should be able to take the update. Any help would be appreciated. Considered a root but apparently AT&T version can't be rooted.
