Please post how battery life is working versus kitkat.

Mine isn't noticeably different. In fact I haven't noticed any issues whatsoever (yet). It's only been a few days though.
Going from jelly bean to kitkat killed battery life... Took the sacrifice because of GPS bug, Wife was hoping this update would help it.

Mine is horrible....weather app GPS stays on constantly...I can't get a whole day anymore. Weather app and some Daemon something says battery usage high. I even put weather refresh to every 3 hours and GPS icon constantly pops up in notification panel
I surprisingly get better battery life on Lollipop I came from Firekat and that ROM is better in terms of battery life from stock 4.4.2, but this Lollipop kills it all for me!
My battery life is better than it was, but the thing I'm really happy about is that my GPS locks MUCH faster than it was.
I am really liking lollipop. My battery life was good previously on firekat but I am sitting over 10% more battery and used it more than usual.

I wanna pull the plug on this, also from FireKat. How did you do it? Did you just accept the OTA somehow? or did you use the Lollipop backup recovery method?
I don't know what should I do.
Thanks in advance...

I flashed back to stock unrooted NC2 with odin. I did lose all my stuff though so I would backup before you do. Or you could odin to stock OC1 and save all the trouble of OTA.

Thanks a lot. I was thinking of trying to keep the root. But it's a very involved procedure. I'll just ODIN back and accept the OTA...
I would safestrap if you desire root. Worst case scenario you then use odin to stock.

Battery life has been great with 5.0, disable all ATT bloat and Greenify all your user apps. Pushing 10 hours of on-screen time with stock battery.
My battery life has taken a nose dive. I am stock not rooted and barely make it 8-9 hours before I am at 5%. Before the OTA I was easily a day and a half. Something has changed. I have disable some "Unified Daemon (EUR)" but it didn't help much at all.
Can anyone help. After updating battery life sucks. Having issue with interest as well. If I turn WiFi then 4G let won't work.
Well an update or something changed last night as now my battery life is ba c k to normal if not better. For the past week I was lucky to get 8 hours on a charge even in power save mode. Today after 8 hours I am still at 88 percent, battery meter now projects 3 days left before recharge. The offending app must have been discovered and corrected. I am on stock.
Just fyi

I am new to this phone, I have browsed through this forum yet I find it hard to decide whether to root my phone or not.
Currently I am on stock V10e with some service or pre-installed LG-ware disabled, and I have around 3.5 on-screen time with wifi and data off most of the time. My main usage of phone will be for texting and reading ebooks in text format. While the phone was in stand-by mode, it dropped 2-3% for an 8 hours sleep which I found to be superb.
My purpose of rooting would be to greenify the stock bloatware so as to extend the battery life. I found it hard to decide to root or not because I don't know if I could further extend my battery through rooting. The other concern is that I am afraid that if I XXXX up the rooting process, I might lose my warranty. So please help me with this. Thanks so much.

Rooting will not do anything to your battery but rooting to unlock bootloader and flash custom rom will surety extend your battery life.
You'll also be able to freeze or delete LG's bloatware to improve your battery life.
If you root you will inevitably lose your warranty but you do not have to worry. You are not even on V20A (which is curious btw, why don't you update to jelly been) so rooting will be very easy.
I rooted my phone at least 20 times and never had problems. I still have my IMEI, my phone is working better than ever with custom rom and kernel.
Honestly rooting your phone should not be a problem and that's the first step into the customization of your phone

I am still on V10e because I got the phone 2 months ago and at that time JB hasn't been released yet. I am the type of wait-and-see guy, didn't want to jump into JB directly after it officially released. After JB was released, I noticed that many complained about the battery draining problem in stand-by mode and so here I am still on v10e.
Thanks for the reply man~ But I am curious, I have read on some thread that SuperSU has some sort of un-root mechanism. Is there any way that I could keep my warranty using this function? Or I have heard that making a system backup before rooting can help. However, I couldn't find any detail about this like what kind of software should I use to backup and restore the backup??

rooting doesn't void your guarantee, as you can easily unroot. yes, the option is there.
I want to go back to the newest US stock ROM. Since updating to GM 1.6, my watch has been missing several app icons, like Notifications. Side-loaded apps no longer show up, even after deleting wapplist.xml.
I just don't find the minor advantages of a custom ROM to be worth the disadvantages.
I'd like to keep TWRP, though.
What's the best way to go back to stock from null21?
Just flash with odin
i experienced those glitches with Null and the new GGManager. I lost my patience and went back to stock (newest firmware tho NA6)

Odin? Ok thanks - that's what I wasn't sure of.
The way I see it stock rom is built for great batterylife if you push the watch to do anything harder that poor battery just can't keep up. things would have been different had it a higher capacity battery would cope with oc etc.

This statement is so wrong, iv seen some of my users get a whooping 2 and a half days out of there gear.
If you know how to diagnose battery drain, being on stock is completely irrelevant.
Roms dont cause battery drain, users do.

I have reflash end your rom back on again I really like it just wish I can get good batterylife anyone care to share the best settings for battery life on this rom I just got about 150 mins screen on time with bluetoothe on with my first run.
I recently updated to 5.1, re-rooted, and unencrypted via the NRT. Since doing this my battery life has been less than satisfactory. Before I was getting 12-13 hours, now for the last 3-4 days I've been lucky to get 8. I am a very light user at best. Is this a bug in 5.1? Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Same here, but I'm rooted using Chroma ROM.

I just got the verizon nexus 6 with 5.1 on it already (so i can't comment what it was like on 5.0.1). but i am NOT impressed w/ battery life so far... moderate use (not heavy) I can get about 10-11 hrs.
i did notice that the screen takes up most of the battery, with a zopim chat app taking up the second spot (i use it for my business)... i just emailed them to see if they could forward it to their developer to optimize it for the update. we shall see.
Not sure what, but you guys are obviously doing something really weird to get that bad of battery life. Mine will do **THREE DAYS*** on light use (what you are all claiming).
That is up from about 1.5-2 days on 5.0.
Hey all,
Last flashed on FireKat months ago and have been wanting to try out Lollipop but wasn't sure if it was ready yet. When I first used FireNote, mega was remarking that it would be a few months before KK was stable enough for everyday use.
Have you guys had good luck with custom Lollipop ROMs? Which ones are the "best" ones you'd recommend?
Sorta/not really. It's like smooth sailing except when you hit the new barrier reef. But it's pretty!
Latest problem is Viper4android can't possibly work until someone figures out how to enable SELinux Permissive mode. Then like something makes a noise or vibrates in a way you might have tamed with Xposed before. But there's no Xposed either. How do you fix it? You don't. I might just go back. Sucks either way for now.

How's battery life? Right now on firekat I'm losing 35% per hour during use and 3-5% per hour when the screen is off. Can't be worse than this.
Lack of viper and xposed aren't really deal breakers for me. Inconvenient, yes, but still usable.
Root WiFi hotspot still works I assume?

Running FK with them specs you didn't have something setup right. I'm lucky to use 35% in a days time just saying.

Yeah i figured that battery life was abnormal. Not sure how to troubleshoot it, though. When I go to look at battery stats (using GSam) to troubleshoot, it just shows that most of the battery is consumed by "Android System," followed closely by "Kernel (Android OS)." Battery life was pretty good when I first installed FK, but has gone down considerably since first install.
Any idea on how to further troubleshoot?

Not knowing how you flashed it. always odin back to nc2 then install ss and tr, Flash the rom. Never use battery saver. When using greenify make sure its uncheck in exposed. Don't forget to make a fresh backup of nc2 before flashing fk. But the new build v19n3 and v19n4 is running awesome. Great battery life. One thing I do is in tb is to change Google play services from system app to user app. Hope this helps. If you try this rom again and have problems jump over to the fk thread since this thread is Q&A on LP.

Yeah I installed FK according to all the instructions and it was fine at first. Battery life degraded over time, though. To give you an idea how long ago I installed FK, I have version 4 installed.
What I'm wondering is if i should install the newest FK or jump over to lollipop. Anyone have any experience with both? Curious to see all the new lollipop features and battery life can hardly get WORSE compared to what I have now.

Well I tried LP on a older Nexus 4 that I just tinker with I didn't like it. I put slimkat back on it. But the new fk builds is great. I'm not switching to LP unless Mega does a LP build for us. Like I said if you try the new builds just jump over on the threads if you have problems.
It looks like allianceROM is one of the more popular Lollipop ROMs. Anyone have any opinions on it vs firekat?
I think lollipop roms are awesome, very smooth. I did have better battery life with 4.3 then anyother
As of about 2 days ago, I have noticed a rapid drain of the battery. From 100-0 in about 8 hours.
And just now, recharged around 1:30 p.m., and as of about 4:00 p.m. it went from 97% to 55%, with "3 more hours of battery left" (I use the Dash Charger Only fwiw)
I have hardly been using it...at all. I leave the display on 50% normally, but again, not using it. And since noticing this, I even took the dispay to 25%.
I went to the settings/battery to find that right above Android is Dictionary, which I don't use. I force closed it
Dictionary 8%
Android System 6%
Android OS 5%
Facebook 5%
TypeApp Mail 4%
T-Mobile Name ID 4%
Google App 4%
Google Play Services 2%
I would welcome any help.
Try a factory reset?
I'm on the leaked nougat and this phone is blowing my mind. Just as good as the iPhone 7+ in regards to battery life and butteryness. Longest battery life I've ever used on an Android and the smoothest experience.
I'm so glad I didn't get the pixel, so glad..
Factory reset your phone and don't install any other apps for a while. See if the battery drain continues. If so, return your phone via manufacture's warranty, since you probably have a defective battery
Trying to avoid a Reset.
I restarted in safe mode, and it is much better now, only indicating is is one of my apps etc
I also have the Pixel XL which does blow this away even when this phone was at its peak. But, I guess we all use different apps
What do you have to do to get Android Nougat you said you have.
Thanks so much

Hey bro! Right now on oos 3.5.4, did face issues but I've flashed blu_spark kernel and phone's working like a charm again. You are using stock kernel right? do you have any experience with blu_spark so you can compare performance to your actual rom?
I am on stock correct. Otherwise don't root etc. Haven't for a few years with C and beat it. Cant keep all that knowledge together
So I guess I answered your question, but otherwise I am lost. Thanks for sticking with me everyone

Yup, stock everything from the leak. I haven't tried blu_spark since I'm not sure there are any kernels compatible with the leaked build

I was referring to (oos 3.5.3/3.5.4 + blu_spark) vs OOS 4.0 but thx anyway! I'll keep on MM & custom kernel untill final 4.0 is released.
Nougat is the solution
Im running the new nougat leaked and is been phenomenal here is a screenshot
