SuperSU no longer working? - Verizon LG G2

SuperSU stopped working on my device any ideas why and how to fix it?

It more than likely stopped working because you took the OTA and lost root.

No I rooted after the OTA. Anyways I figured it out. There was a root toggle. Never had a rom with that before.

OTA won't install

My wife's phone was rooted and a couple of xposed mods, but I uninstalled xposed (I think), and re-enabled all the bloatware, but the OTA keeps failing. Any ideas?

Btw, I don't care about keeping root on the phone. Just looking to get KK stock.
You sure you didn't delete any system apps that came with the original Rom? What's the error message?
xdabbeb's 24 a rom

What error are you getting when trying to run the OTA.

I had the same problem and solved it by running the Verizon updater that is on the phone:

ISIS app and root question

Hello,
I was rooted on 4.3 with Kingo. I never used the ISIS app before. But after I did the upgrade OTA to 4.4 I of course lost root. But the app is still saying i'm rooted..? Is this some kind of flag that it detected that I have been rooted before? I did some searching on how to enable it but I need root access again lol
Thank you,
reset phone!

You still have the superuser app installed probably because you didn't unroot before the update and it can't be uninstalled till we get root

You are one of the many of us who simply didn't unroot before we either patched or received the OTA update.
We're waiting paitently for root.

Aw figured as such. By resetting the phone what's the best way to get everything back the way it was before I do a reset? Is there a simple backup app?

resetting wont fix it only way is to reroot then unroot to remove superuser so your stuck till we get root on 4.4.2
The only thing you can do is go to the Samsung Experience at Best Buy and ask them to flash the 4.4.2 ROM over what you have now, do a few factory resets after that and the Custom issue will resolve itself.
Same here, was hoping to find a solution. Want that $50

Open SuperSU, click Settings, scroll down and click Full Unroot.
I don't know why you would want to unroot.

As far as I know all you have to do is download SuperSU from the playstore after your phone reboots from clicking "make it rain".
I personally have not used this method to root my phone because I was already rooted.
UPDATE : After watching videos online, it seems that SuperSU is not needed with this root method. Without SuperSU, there doesnt seem to be a method to unroot as of right now. I'm sure Chainfire (maker of SuperSU) has already heard about this and is working on a fix for SuperSU. He personally hasn't posted anything about it though.
UPDATE 2 : Apparently the latest SuperSU 1.99r5 fixes this issue. Problem is, that isn't the version on the Google Playstore.

The SuperSU from the Play Store will not work. You need to get version 1.99 and it will work fine.

I just private messaged you a download link for the SuperSU 1.99. Let me know if it works
All I did was extract the apk from the zip file and uploaded it to my dropbox. I tested it on my phone and it worked.
UPDATE : Chainfire just updated the apk listed on the playstore. So just go on there and download that version and you will be set.
Thank you guys I got it works great I how geo can get the bootloader unlocked next that would be amazing thanks again guys.:good:

Randomly Lost Root? - No Updates/OTAs applied

Last night I went to open Titanium Backup and was notified that I didn't have root. I've been rooted with ioroot for over a year now without issues. Root Checker app confirmes root was lost. SuperSu gave binaries error.
HOWEVER, in About Phone > System Status it was still showing as 'Rooted'. I'm still on 4.2.2 / VS98011A. All I've done is update the same ol' apps I've had for months.
What gives? Anybody have any ideas why this would happen?
The only thing I can think of is when SuperSu updated recently it asked to use TWRP (instead of the 'normal' method) to run a script to update binaries which I obliged. It seemed to struggle with that.
Anyway, I did use TowelRoot this time since I was too lazy to refresh my memory on the ioroot process. It worked fine however I've had a few random locks and a random reboot. I never had those issues before.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Do you have TWRP installed? If so try to get it to reflash the binaries again.

After rerooting with towelroot, i uninstalled SuperSu. Then reinstalled SuperSu and choose install binaries via 'normal' method. That appears to have worked fine.
My question relates to why did I lose su/root functionality in the first place? Is this known to happen sometimes with app updates, (not just system/os/ota updates)? That has me concerned.

I would assume not installing the SuperSU binary updates correctly broke SuperSU. You didn't lose root per say, you broke SuperSU which apps need to be able to run as root.
