[Q] Can't set screen timeout on any rom - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So far I have tried Chroma, Benzo, Slim LP, CM12, Euphoria and maybe couple of more. But same problem with all roms. Due to some reason I cannot fix screen timeout values to my desired ones. I go to settings and set e.g 30 secs or one minute, after I exit the setting and come back to see, it's either set to 30 mins, or 220 secs or 2 mins, Or the value are blank. but it doesn't work as these values too, it just stays on. Have used few timeout apps from play store but didn't work . I have included the screen shots. Is there any way I can override the value manually.? Or any work around? Please.

Screen timeout works fine for me on chroma. And worked fine when I ran benzo

UPDATE : I used toolkit to install stock and then flashed custom rom again (after unlocking the bootloader and installing recovery). That fixed my issue.
Thanks anyways

[Q] Screen not timing out

Since last night, my screen stopped timing out. I've been playing around with trying to get wallpaper to look right, and have installed Wallpaper Set & Save (didn't make it look right) and WallpaperCASA (can't figure out how to use custom wallpaper). Not sure if installing them is related, but a few hours after, my screen no longer times out. Eating battery charge. I can't find a setting in either one of them that has anything to do with this. And the screen was timing out fine immediately after installing them.
Timeout settings are set to 2 minutes. Does anyone know of another setting that controls this?

Phone book access or dialing phone option is very slow

Hi,
I have tried many custom roms. But whenever I click on the phone book or use the call log, it takes atleast 15 secs to load it. I use google sync to sync all my phone no.s to google. This causes a lot of frustration, when basic phone functionality takes lot of time.
Also at times, after I click on the call button, it takes 10 secs to display that it is calling the person. Also it takes 10 secs to hang up, when I press the end button.
Is there anything I need to do to boost this? The only ROM I have seen it works better is OMEGA rom.

You could try setting min clock speed to 245Mhz, and max to 787~806Mhz.
And which ROM are you using? Gingerbread or ICS? Stock or CM?
Max-806
Min-245
Governor-smartassv2
I/O - cfq
It's my personal configuration.... Experiencing no lags...
I m on cm7

[Q] Accelerometer sensor with screen off.

Hello guys, first of all thanks to xda for making me redescover and love my phone! =)
My problem is that i'm using the sleep time app to wake up in the morning. This app uses the accelerometer of the phone to decide if u're in a deep rem phase or not and wakes you up when you're not. Until i was using the samsung 4.1.2 rom the app worked ok, but on other roms like all the cyanogenmod roms (tried all of them, 10.1, 10.2, 11), pacman, paranoid, carbon, ecc. the app stops receiving data from the accelerometer sensor when the screen goes off and it becomes a simple alarm clock. The only workaround that i found until now, is to enable the "keep the screen on while loading" in the developer settings. Is there any way to solve this problem, maybe to find out why in the samsung stock rom it's working and put that in the other roms.
Thanks in advance to everyone and sorry if i made any mistake in english, it's not my native language.
ps. A special thanks to all the developers here (i owe all of you a beer =)), love all the roms i found here, and keep up the awesome work:good:
Accelerometr works fine while screen is off. I am using sleep as android - similar sleep monitoring alarm as you, and it works fine while screen os off. I was using it on CM 10.1, 10.2 and now 11 by maclaw.
Check app settings. My app have sth like 'monitoring while screen is off' and when I run this option it checks if accelerometr works with screen off for like 2 minutes. Then it shows 'supported' or 'not supported' as test result. Mine said 'supported' and I can see nice graphs of how well I slept during that night when I wake up in the morning

i guess the problem is the app then. thanks for the answer :good:, i'm gonna try your alarm clock
Were you able to keep getting the accelerometer values after the screen goes off? I have an app that loses the accelerometer values about 2 minutes after the screen goes off. Is there a way to keep getting the values after screen is off?
Thanks,
Norm

Maybe set deepsleep to 1. You need to be rooted with CoCore kernel or on some of CM based.
echo 1 > /d/cpuidle/deepest_state
But it will drain your battery faster. And I am not 100% sure if it will work. Reboot resets value to 3.
If it is working with 1, try 2 too.

Thanks for the response.
I don't want to "root" my system. There is another app: Shake that is able to do what I want on my system. I was hoping to be able to do what Shake does, but with less battery drain.

stock AT&T MotoX not locking after timeout.

Two week old device, running 4.4 build number 13.11.1q2.x-69-3
Daydream is turned off, timeout is set to 30 sec (but have tried 15 and 60 without change)
The screen will dim at that time but remain unlocked and on.. it first started when charging but now happens nearly daily. Restarting will fix it for a couple minutes. Any ideas? ? Should I warranty the device?
Bump
Anyone? This is stock launcher, no widgets as close to out of the box as possible really..
I tried Battery Stats+ but with KitKat requires Xposed so that isnt an option..

[Question] EuphoriaOS 1.1 Freezing/Restarting/UI Unresponsive

Hi. I tried to post in the EuphoriaOS thread, but I don't have enough posts to say something in the development section.
My Nexus 6 is currently using the latest official EuphoriaOS 1.1 and everything has been great up until about a month ago.
This happens sporadically. My phone will start to freeze in the middle of doing anything.
Ex1. I'm listening to Spotify and my music will freeze every 10 seconds or so. Instead of being like a normal skip, it picks up exactly where it left off.
Ex2. I push the power button to wake my phone, but nothing happens for ~3 seconds. Pushing it again will bring up my lockscreen, but my lockscreen is totally unresponsive, so I can't unlock my phone. I can use the power button to turn the screen back off. Then I will wake it again like normal, and It unlocks just fine.
Ex3. My UI in general becomes sluggish and at times completely unresponsive.
Ex4. My phone will just restart randomly. It has done it numerous times each in different applications. I haven't been able to pinpoint a cause.
I enjoy using Euphoria and do not want to update to any Marshmallow ROMs because I have everything the way I like it. My battery is great and Marshmallow currently doesn't have Xposed.
I haven't really installed anything new since before these issues started. They just happened out of the blue.
This stuff happens maybe every couple days at totally random times.
Could anyone help me in trying to fix the issues I'm having?
