Hi everyone. So I recently got my Korean SKT GS3 stolen while at a wedding in India. I have friends here who know a person or two in the police, and is in a position to help me out and get my phone back for me. However, in order to do that I need the IMEI number. I didn't write down my IMEI number before I had it stolen, but I DO have the box that the phone came with. There are a lot of different numbers on the box, and I'm not sure which one the IMEI number is. I assumed it was 15 digit number on the box, but when I checked it with www.imei.info, it gave a completely different phone. There's another 15 character thing on the box, but I think that's the serial number because it starts with 12 SSBO 4G *******.
Can anyone confirm which number is the IMEI number? And by chance.. would anyone know if it's possible to track this Korean phone when it's in India?
Thanks in advance!
Dear forum! Or a Lenovo A7000 phone, which the android on it often freezes, I re-installed. Random in the process of reformatting and download function was used in which the IMEI, Wi-Fi MAC address, Bluetooth address and the serial number of the device is lost. I have successfully restored except for the serial number. It would be important for me in the final visszaaírása serial number for the telephone sale. It would be best if we could root without the operation, but if there is no other solution, then it can meet. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello, I'm considering to buy chimera to do the job, I have no box nor dongle. But I still can't figure it out how to get a new IMEI number. should I use an IMEI of an old phone? is there a list of unused IMEIs ? How does this works ?
Hello everyone, I recently bought RN10 PRO (Indian version) and I've noticed that the Serial Number in the settings and when dialing *#06# is different from the box, however the two IMEI numbers are identical on both the device and the box
I ran CIT (dialed *#*#6484#*#*) and the Serial Number there was identical to the one on the box.
Should I be concerned or return the device? or is it something common and normal?
thank you for your time.
It's not uncommon for the software to be misreporting the serial number sometimes. Xiaomi has some bugs, but as long as it's not breaking, it's fine. My phone doesn't report the correct serial number either after update, and I know it's a genuine device since I bought it sealed and in person at an official Xiaomi store. The important thing is the IMEI, as the IMEI is unique to each network device. Though the IMEI can be spoofed, each IMEI is registered to a specific device, so if you ran a check on a spoofed IMEI, it will return a different device as a result.
Here's what you can do to check for authenticity. Visit this website and enter the IMEI (first one, then the other): https://www.mi.com/global/verify/#/en/tab/imei
Both IMEIs should show your correct phone model.
