At phone status on my phone number it say unknown number. Had same problem with old Desire before and I had to use a old SonyEricsson to add mine phone number to sim card. But now I dont have that phone anylonger, so is there any other way, except using another phone that can do it and add my phone number? On unrooted Note.

Hi, how can I change my phone number in Sim manager? It still says its the temp number I had before my old number was ported across.
My new number works fine when you ring it, but I want it to show my new number in Sim manager. Any ideas?
TIA.
not possible?
3 network recently prevented me using my payg sim so I switched to O2 and transferred my old phone number. But the phone still displays the number which came with the O2 sim card. Is this hard wired into the sim card or is there any way I can change it through the registry, or whatever?
Any help appreciated
What do you mean by "The phone still displays the phone number which came with your O2 SIM card" ???
Where does the phone display it? Make a screenshot but xxx out your phone number for privacy reasons!
Isn't the Phone Number set in Settings, "Owner Information"?

Mine does exactly the same, if you go to Sim Manager it displays the original sim number and not my tranfered one. No great shake though, unless you dont know your own number.
But just found that you can change this.. In Sim Manager go to Menu_Tools_List of Own Numbers, then edit voice line 1.. Job done.

That information you can edit yourself. I am not surebut I do believe it is somewhere under SETTINGS -> PHONE ...

Most cool. Did that restarted, after removing sim + battery, and voila it worked. Never noticed 'Sim Manager' before. You would have thought that Settings the more appropriate place for it
Most obliged - I like to be tidy/organised Knew this was the place to ask
i lost my nexus one i just received my new phone i got the sim card from the local store...they activated it and it works fine now its been 24 hours since its been on and when i go to setting under status at about phone the phone number says unknown how can this be fix or what should i do?? i called tmobile and they told me all was well??????
Been answered several times on here, so a quick search would have helped.
The number needs to be programmed to the SIM. Android/Nexus won't let you edit the field on the SIM. Get an old Sony Ericsson phone (I used a K800i) and there should be a menu option to let you do it. Put SIM back in Nexus.
A K550i sorted mine out.
dont ask me why, and its slightly embarrassing, too, but on my sim the "own phonenumber" is set to the number of my gf.
well i know the own phonenumber is stored on the sim, and theres no way in stock LG skin to change that, but is there an app out there or another possibility other than putting my sim card into a different phone to change my own number?
i changed the sim, the new one showed "undefined", and after putting in the old one it was still the wrong number
I actually looked this up for my previous phone a while back. Only thing I found was, put your sim on a very old phone, change own number from there... and pop it back into your phone.
Android seems to not be able to change the own number on the sim.. not sure why!
I have this HTC One that was connected to Sasktel but I had a problem occur with the phone and I had to get it completely reprogrammed. After I received my phone back, it isn't connected to Sasktel anymore and they have no idea what carrier the phone is now connected to. (The new programmed phone now has a new IMEI Number) All I need to do is get the 8 digit number to unlock my phone so i can re hook it back up to Sasktel. Is there anyway I can do a carrier check or to get an unlock code?
Thanks
