Hello, I come from a Nexus 5 and I loved the dialer and the contact application.
Is there a way to remove these Sony apk and replace them by the google one??
I'm root with unlocked bootloader.
Thanks.

Is there any S5 Dialer and Contacts flashable zip that is compatible with our Note 3 yet? I flashed one that was made for the S4 and now my contacts apk crashes when I tap on a name and my calls crash when I dial a number. Hopefully someone can make it compatible with our Note 3.
Or if you have a flashable Stock Dialer and Contacts zip for the Kit Kat Note 3, I would be really grateful as I can't view contacts or call anyone.

Hello is there any messaging apps other than the stock S5 mms one with Samsung Emoji?
I've looked and simply can't find one at all! I know you can use the emoji switcher app in the play store but most of the time it doesn't work.
Any suggestions is appreciated! [emoji106]
Anybody?
I'm not sure what the stock Samsung emoji list consists of but I highly recommend Textra SMS & their emoji package as a replacement for the stock app. Has so many features and not a big heavy app either. Check it out in the Play store, it's free. They finally updated it to allow you to view & answer texts on the Lock Screen!
8sms is a Samsung stock message replacement app. I love it.

I think I already know the answer to this, but thought I'd see if someone can surprise me: Is it possible to get the sense mail app on a non-Sense ROM? I don't like the new GMail app and much prefer the Sense app for mail.
I have done something similar with the voicemail app. I just made a backup of the voicemail app in TB, then copied the APK of that backup into the system/app folder. But, that doesn't seem to work for the mail app. I just get an immediate FC.

I've never tried it personally, but the one idea I can think of is that you may need the HTC Service Pack installed from the Play Store. I know that allows their Sense apps released to the Play Store to work on any ROM.
This may not help for the mail app since it hasn't been released to the store. The other idea is that there may be some libs that you would need too.
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the built in dialer and contact app with the standard Google app?
Also, does anyone know if it's possible to configure Gmail so that when you press a phone number it automatically opens it in the dialer?
Amongst other things these are two features I miss from my recently departed Nexus 5.
Thanks all.

Yes, you can replace contacts and dialler but you'l have some issues, some messages will appear when you are tring to call someone asking you to choose the apk (google one or built in one ), i recomand you to install just google messages
I just changed from Xperia 1 to Xperia 1 II, and I had yet another surprise from Sony: the contacts app is missing, and the Google Contacts app replacing it, is, well, crap. I tried installing the Sony Contacts apk both from apkmirror and also an extracted version from my old Xperia 1 (v. 1.7.31), but when trying to call a number, I get a message saying there is no app to make the call. The Sony Caller app works great, the Google Contacts app uses it as default, but I can't get the Sony Contacts app to work with it. What am I doing wrong? Is there any fix for that?
I would not like to use other Contacts apps, if possible.
Please help!
Thanks in advance!
Hello -
Same issue on Xperia 5 IV. I installed Sony contacts apk, so much better than Google Contacts. The app works well, emails, sms, WhatsApp all work well but when trying to place a call I get the message: "No app found to handle this action". I also installed Sony Phone 23.0 apk (which works on its own) but I still get the same message from Sony Contacts.
Any solution?
Thank you
