My tmobile note 4 is in a bootloop - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just like the title says, I'm stuck in a bootloop on my tmobile note 4, this is what happened, I got sweat in my phone, screen went out, let the phone sit for a day, screen is back on but it says galaxy note 4 with the blue recovery at the top, I can get into download mode and I've tried all of the firmwares for this phone, the ank4 anj7 and the anih, it says passed but still never boots always bootloop at the galaxy note 4 screen with the blue recovery word in the top corner, but never goes into recovery, any help would be highly appreciated

How much sweat did you get in your phone? I have had my phone in pouring rain, got water in the sensor, and rubbing alcohol the whole nine and my phone functions just like it came out the box. Are you running a custom recovery?

@BACARDILIMON is correct, get it replaced!

Definetly leave out the sweat part. U plugged it in last night and when u woke up phone was off. You powered it up and u got a weird blue screen. Done
BAD ASS NOTE 4

Lets just say when I woke up the phone was under me, and its not a blue screen, it is saying Samsung galaxy note 4 with recovery in blue at the top, phone didn't work for a day, now it is at least doing that, but yeah maybe something is ruined on the board but thanks for all of u guys comments, positive and negative, that's what this site is for, people who voice their opinion so I will wait a few days to see what the phone does then eventually get another one, thanks again guys

So let me get this straight, you are in bootloop (phone not broken) and you have the tiny blue letter that says going to recover but you never go into recovery? Your recovery is messed up...
So when you ODIN, assuming you are doing it properly (bad wires can give false "passed" status and you will bootlop) If you have a bad Odin, you will bootloop.
Make sure to ODIN and uncheck "reboot" and once odin is done, try to go into recovery yourself and wipe your data.
I will suggest better wiring as well. A simple good ODIN will get you back on track my friend

I will try it tonight, thanks

Your recovery didn't stick. It shouldn't be a huge deal. You need to start over. Flash TWRP via ODIN. The phone won't let you boot into any ROM if it doesn't think a recovery is installed. By trashing to flash the stock firmaware it tried to flash the stock recovery over TWRP and it didn't work. If flashing TWRP in ODIN doesn't work, you may want to try to flash the stock recovery image by it self. My guess is that once you get a working recovery installed on the phone it will boot up just fine.

This is my thought. I had this same exact mess happen, on the note 3 though, and it was from a borked recovery. Once I got that part corrected I had no more problems. Flashing a stock image didn't work but forcing TWRP to the recovery partition did. Took me a while to decide to go that route for whatever reason.

Use ODIN 3.09 or above, the other ones were giving problems. I read that somewhere.

[A]Unbrick galaxy note (wrong rom)

Let me give you a tip if you bricked your phone.
I accidentally flashed Checkrom for galaxy s2 into my note.
The phone was bricked, i couldn't get to the recovery mode. Using the volume+power+home key combo only displayed a f*** up screen and then rebooted.
I noticed that if I did this with the phone plugged into the computer, my PCwould actually recognize something being plugged.
What I did:
I ran the already-rooted.bat that came with the rooting toolkit (zergrush)
And thank to god my phone booted (as a Samsung galaxy s2!), well it did not boot at first, it was stuck loading but i could go into recovery mode. After that my phone actually booted as an s2 (all messed up), but I could eventually wipe it clean.
So, if for any reason your phone gets bricked you might want to try this (cause removing battery doesn't do s**t)
I'm glad you solved it. But have to ask how the Fu** did you flash a. Sgs2 rom. Do you not read?

I did the same
I was selling my SGS2 the same day as I received my note. Was bussy rooting and unrooting and moving files from SGS2 to Note. On that time Chekrom for note and SGS2 was both v.4 "do i need to say more" some kernels swits internal and external SD in CWM. and i was using my sd to move files, I lost my IMEI in the proces, I had a struggle getting it back
In my defense, the checkrom rom was labeled XWLA4_CheckromRevo_HD_V6.zip for the s2 and XXLA4_CheckromRevo_NoteHD_V5.zip for the note. I was doing a bunch of stuff and its not like the file names are totally different.
I made a mistake, and I won't be the last to make it. Someone might benefit from my experience.
I have exactly same problem !please tell the toolkit method

[Q] My GNote hard-bricked?

Things I did:
1. Want to try out the JellyBAM ROM
2. Installed CWM and rooted the phone
3. Wiped user's data
4. Began flashing the ROM
But then I remembered that I haven't clear the dalvik cache yet and when I look at the ROM installing progress, it wasn't moving so I think something really did went wrong. Then I tried to reboot it into recovery mode again but it won't switch on any longer. Plugged into the pc, nothing, no charging sign, nothing at all! I can't neither go into recovery mode nor the download mode as well...sigh......
Is there still hope for my phone?
how did you install CWM?
If nothing works, try to get it repaired under Warranty, else as a final resort try jig.

Well, the phone was bought some time in the second half of year 2011, so I'm not sure whether or not the warranty still valid though…sigh. As for the jig, I've read that it won't really work all the time?
Warranty normally covers one year, yet check with a samsung dealer.

NON ROOTED brick

As the title says the phone has not been rooted and has bricked itself. It can get to the download screen but that's about it. Odin doesn't recognize it and not sure how to flash the stock rom back on it to get it back up and running. Anyone run into this issue before.? See image for what shows up on the screen. Thanks.
update: was able to hav odin recognize the phone. I've tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006 with both the .pit and without plus the 4 files with no luck. still just restarts to same screen.

Somethings not right. If you flash the pit file make sure you flash all 4 files. I dont see a reason why it shouldnt work. If it still has that after you flash boot into recovery and factory reset. It should work. Its easy to soft brick than to hard brick. As long as you can get into download mode you should be fine.

I dont know then. Only thing i would suggest is make sure you have downloaded the latest samsung drivers. Last time i couldnt get it to recognize i downloaded the latest samsung mobile drivers and tried every usb port. I also gave it a break for about 10 or 15 minutes with the phone off and it worked too. Dont know why but it did. Hope that helps. Cheers mate

It goes straight to download screen or before this you got option to press volume up or down? Did you try to get to recovery mode by pressing combination of volume up , home button and power button then let all go when samsung logo show up with little blue writing on left top of phone. If you get to recovery try to clean cache. If you can't and after you try to flash back to stock still going straight to download mode must be hardware issue.
Why do the newer users call anything that doesn't boot properly "Bricked ?"
Believe me you'll know when and if your ever able to successfully achieve it....
Your not even rooted..lmfao

Flash a rom if you have it or use Odin to get back to stock and start over.
Or if your lucky to have a backup to revert to?
Or copy the rom zip file onto a micro sd card and install it from there.

Long story short, I got a replacement phone and odin'd NK4 from sammobile. I never tested it at all, first thing I did was go straight to NK4 and then I noticed there was lag every 4 seconds. I think you posted on my thread and told me I needed a replacement phone. I redownloaded every file and went back to stock and still lagged
So it looks like I'm getting one but have to wait till January 2nd till it arrives. They told me they override something so I would get a new phone. When I get this new phone, should I just update to NK4 through OTA? Once I'm in NK4, cd autoroot and install twrp and Custom rom. Can I go that route instead of going through odin with the Nk4?

The only thing I can think of is to flash twrp with Odin, then flash a custom ROM with twrp.

You can flash another firmware with Odin. Or you can download this zip and boot into recovery and transfer this zip which you can download. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59164015
Just factory reset in twrp and install the zip.

Thing is your problem has been covered a million times with the solution posted just as many times. there's no need for repeat threads.
The little search button is your friend or even read the actual lollipop thread.
I advise any happy flashers out there to read the WHOLE thread, skim reading will land you in trouble.
