For some reason the HD7 doesn't seem to charge from PCs. I've tried my HD7 and another unit, and while both show the orange light when plugged into a PC, they're both depleted the next morning if I leave them to charge from a PC.
I've tried multiple PCs' ports, all of which charge my HD2, iPhone, and such just fine-- only the HD7s seem to have an issue.
The only way to charge them seems to be to use an AC adapter (putting out 1A, unlike PC USB ports, which are usually specced at 0.5A).
Anyone else able to charge from a PC?
that's odd. I've been charging my HD 7 with my laptop just fine.
Can't be that all those other sources don't work. Something is wrong with cable or the phone.
Confirmed this with one more HD7 and four more PCs-- not an individual device, PC, or cable issue.
What happens is that the HD7 will charge while the connected PC is on, but then if the PC goes into standby mode, the HD7 stops charging (while all other phones - HD2, iPhones, etc. - continue to charge).
To get the HD7 to start charging again, you need to unplug and plug it back in (it'll resume charging even though PC is still in standby) or wake up the PC.
When I plug in the phone to any computer there is no indication that it has been plugged in. The computer doesn't show that there is a device connected when using usb view.
Comments or solutions greatly appreciated
Try turning off and removing battery for like 30 seconds, same thing happened to me (wouldnt charge or connect to anything)but after I shut it off it worked
Hi,
A few days ago i tried to connect my phone to the computer but the computer started making connect and disconnect sounds repeatedly. The phone wasn't able to connect to the pc and it didn't charge. I tried another pc with the same result, i also tried other cables again with the same result. But the phone still charged when I connected it to the charger.
Last night however my phone also stopped charging(AC). It was 1% when i woke up and it refused to charge (tried different chargers/cables). I only got it to charge the second time i turned it off and connected the charger. So, the usb port does still work, sometimes when i shut the phone down.
Is anybody familiar with this problem or do you think it's a hardware problem and should I bring it to the store.
Thanks,
Hello guys, about two days ago after charging my phone normally I used it for the day, when I got home I tried to connect it to the PC to edit some files and it didn't connect, tried plugging it to wall output to charge, nothing. I tested it with 3 different OEM cables, and nothing... after a while of being connected it started connecting, disconnecting, and so on... a couple of minutes after I disconnected it and connected it again and it started charging normally, this happens while turned off or on... but sometimes when I disconnect the cable and plug it back in again it will stop charging again and repeat the same story.... a weird thing is that when i try to enter flashmode or fastboot mode on pc it will work at the first try so, is this a port problem, battery problem or software problem (i don't think it would be a software problem though) since it has been charging normally before this happened)?
water can cause these problems check inside the flap if a white sticker exists
try using another charger not just the cable
Hi. I have a Xperia Z c6603 that suddenly started to charge only when turned off. And even that, only sometimes.
If I have the phone turned on, and connect the USB cable, the phone won't detect it, so it won't charge. And won't even be detected by a PC with ADB. Also, trying to charge it by using the side golden contact won't help, neither.
If I have the phone turned off, and connect the USB cable, the phone will always detect the USB cable, the LED will go red, the screen will show the SONY logo, and then will show the battery icon with the current charge level. And then, sometimes it will start charging. But I will have to try to connect and disconnect the USB cable several times until, maybe, it would do it.
The USB port was replaced sometime ago, and it has been working with no hassle at all. I don't want to get a new battery delivered, if I'm not 100% sure that the battery is the problem.
Can be an electronic trouble with the charging circuit? Has anybody been in this very same situation?
Thanks all.
