Hey guys, i need your help. I decided to install Windows 10 TP today, but i was really disappointed. It started to lag, buttons were not working correctly. So i read a guide how to go back to WP8.1 I connected my phone to PC, after downloading I've got an error at 11-12% It was booting into a strange looking red screen with NOKIA sign on it(i guess it's called UEFI mode) After few errors i connected my phone to another usb port, and it wasn't even booting:crying: Phone is just bricked(it was charged up to 100%). Is the phone completely dead or it's still a chance:angel: Please help me, i am android nerd and... WIndows Phone noob
If you don't have any important data on it, I'd try a hard reset: http://www.hard-reset.com/nokia-lumia-520-hard-reset.html
You need to press those three buttons for a really long time (about 10 seconds) until something happens.
i have a similar Problem. i wanted to reset my phone from the info menu in the tech preview 10, as i thought after that it would be just in stock Windows phone 10 Settings. now the Problem is, that my Lumia 1020 can turn on and boot but after the boot i only have a empty black Screen. the lockscreen and the volume menu is still here but nothing else. any suggestions what now ?
same problem
I tried every possible solution on the internet and yet my lumia 520 is dead.:crying:
Yep I just had the same thing happen actually. Windows Phone Recovery tool failed very early on after flashing its custom bootloader . . . and now the phone refuses to turn on or be recognized by phone recovery tool.
Yay Microsoft!
microsoft has pulled back tp 10 for 520 because of this

I got my HD7 this morning but I have a couple of issues...
Main one being it keeps crashing! Software keeps kicking me back to the start menu! I tried uninstalling the software that crashes and master resetting the phone but it still does it.
I am gonna try and get it swapped over shortly (assuming any stock remaining tonight!) but if I can't is there anything I can do to restore the software?
I did download the O2 UK Ruu software but it won't see the HD7 and asks for it to be connected by active sync which windows phone 7 doesn't use! (as far as I know).
(I also have some dead pixels on the screen in case anyone is wondering).

it is a long shot, but if you know how to put the phone in bootloader mode ( I don't know it for a hd7 ) and than plug in the usb cable , maybe you can flash it than (the same as you can do with a wm 6.* phone ) .
My HD7 keeps turning itself off and back on automatically. Haven't done any sort of reset yet as I only got it from the O2 store this afternoon. I just feel it vibrate on my desk and then I see it restarting (I'm doing work on my laptop and I catch it out of the corner of my eye, so I'm not exactly doing anything on it!).
Hopefully it'll stop...
Unlucky man with the dead pixels on the screen. I guess you can rely on O2's 14 day return period if you're not happy with the phone supplied and they won't issue you with an exchange!

Hi
Im new here and first time on doing anything like this to a phone and would like some help.
Im having a problem with it which is one of the reasons why im here to fix it,
the phone goes to the htc boot screen and vibrates 7 times, im guessing its overheating from what iv read on here and the phone it self works if left off for while you can get the phone running normally but after approx 20mins of using the phone it reboots a few times then stays on the htc logo at vibrates 7 times. (my pc detects the phone normally and in usb mode just fine)
from what iv read the only way too fix this is to install a nodo rom but there are so many different ones i have no idea which ones i need to use
so any help here would be great
Hello to everyone!
I have read everything I could find and tried a long list of things but unfortunately I am at a loss.
So I've come to you, as I can see that here there are a lot of people that have been through a lot.
Long story short: my Lumia 620 had Windows 8.1 GDR2 on it. Some cool thought said: install Windows 10 Insider Prev.
Well it installed, but I then wanted to revert. I first tried to do a hard reset using the button combination and the phone got stuck on the spinning gears.
I managed then to get the phone into the thunder logo mode. Unfortunately Windows Phone Recovery Tool did not recognize my phone.
There were a lot of tries until i came across the way with Nokia Product Support Tool.
So I did what was said there. And my phone got to reboot into a red background with NOKIA logo and a progress bar. It made it to the first quarter and then Nokia Product Support gave an error. I tried restarting the program, the phone, etc... only God knows what I did not try...
Now my phone is stuck at the NOKIA logo with red background and will not be seen either by Thor2, PST, WPRT and I can't even find it in the device manager.
WHAT ELSE CAN I TRY?!
LATER EDIT: I know why it died now.
I recently did the same thing with another 620, but this time the battery was full. I think that the other phone's battery died in the process of rewriting the firmware thus resulting in a hard brick. - mystery solved.
flash your phone
same problem with my lumia 620....flash your phone
Yay, I didn't think of that!
But seriously, I can't - the PC doesn't recognize it at all.

check device manager, does it flick when you connect the phone?
use a usb viewer to uninstall all the drivers related to your phone.

It flicks only when the phone is off, or the battery is out.
As soon as the phone starts up and shows NOKIA in white over red background, nothing exists in Device Manager related to the phone.

Yes, but can be reflashed
How can it be reflashed?
Can you do a how-to guide?

Yes you can reflash with nokia flash tool
Turn off your phone.
Note If your phone is currently stuck on the manufacturer's logo, try removing the battery to turn it off.
Disconnect your phone from the USB cable.
Hold down the camera button.
Continue holding down the camera button and connect the USB cable between your phone and computer.
Continue holding down the camera button until you see the connect-to-computer screen.
Release the camera button.
Leave the phone restart alone, will take around 4/5 minutes.
I hope this will surely works for you, if not then visit Nokia Lumia 620 Manual- guideusermanual.com/product-name-lumia-620-manual&po=672223&lang=English for help.
Hey guys,
yesterday my brother gave me his old Lumia 820 because my Nexus 4 is broken. He did a soft-reset before.
It seems like the screen wasn't locked, so i had the phone in malaysian.
No problem i tought, a hard reset will do.
The point is that the hard reset runs ~ 1 min (spinning gears), after I see a sad emoticon : - (, it restarts and goes again into hard reset with the same results.
When I turn the phone on again (just power button) after it was off, i see those gears with the sad face again.
The only other way is to come to a screen with flash and a gear, connected to a PC it's recognized as Qualcomm MSM device, neither Windows Phone recovery tool or Lumia recovery tool recognize the phone.
I guess my brother had installed the latest Windows Phone 10 developer preview.
So... any idea?
Thanks
Sebastian

I got a bit forward,
i used the Lumia Recovery Tool while the gear and the flash was showing, after some minutes, i really got offered to flash the device.
I ran all updates until I was shown that there is no update available, then I used the Windows Insider App and the fast ring to upgrade to Windows 10.
Again an update was found then and it was working on the update.
After I was away for an hour, came back and found the device in a boot loop. Nokia logo, two gears, progress bar (no progress), after seconds a black screen and a reboot... Looks like im not able to try WP10...
Ok guys,
as the title says Lumia 710 is bricked.
It had last factory update and everything was working fine. Then i had to mess with it and to try to install Rataplan V9.1.
The process was working ok. By default, bootloader was in DLOAD mode, so in order to install custom ROM i needed to upgrade to Qualcomm. I have upgraded it and installed Rataplan .nb rom to the phone with NSSPro V0.54.
This is when my problems start.
The phone starts with one long vibration followed after few seconds with one short virbtation and thats it. No screen, no system, zip!
When i try to connect it again by usb to check it with NSSPro, it always starts in NAND disk mode. It does not matter do i start it normally on power button or with volume up. Its always in NAND. And it is always stuck. While the phone is connected to USB i can see Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM device in device manager but it has yellow mark like the driver is not installed.
I have tried several other roms, and NSS always shows that the rom is successfully installed, but the phone (other than vibration and NAND mode) is dead.
I have also tried all the solutions i could find on the net but no help. Tried, nokia recovery tool, WP recovery tool, Chimera e.t.c. Nothing works. Now i have a problem with NSS. It keeps stucking and beeing unresponsive for every option except Custom OS flash. Whatever else i click it either says tha phone is not detected or the app stucks and shuts itself down.
Is there other tool i can try?
Can i do anything to recover this phone or did i kill it?
PLEASE HELP!!!
Well that sucks and it sucks no one has tried to help here. I'm fair with Android but too new to WP's to probably be much help. Can you pull the battery out of the phone? Might pull it and leave it out a couple minutes then retry. You also might try from a different computer in case something has gone wrong on your computer in terms of port communication or maybe even a virus of some sort. Good luck.

Tried allready every solution that i could find or think of, including things You described. Nothing. I was left with no other option but to send phone to service. They have a box unit with which they should be able to recover phone.
That was 2 days ago. today is third day so i am thinking that my phone has gone beyond repair. Only thing i can do is to wait and see...
Why not...?
Why not send it in real life to a windows phone expert. There should be a place to get phones repaired But, if they say that it isn't possible for them you may have rendered your phone useless. Google should be your mighty friend in this case :crying: I wish you very good luck.
