Are you experiencing issues with bluetooth at all? Such as disconnecting from your devices randomly? It's just my initial thoughts but I'm going to keep looking around for more answers.

For the Smart Lock location issue there have been multiple people saying it's broken in play services at the moment. Some people have gone into maps and seen that their location was way off then it would get corrected and smart unlock would work.
Something worth trying is downloading GPS Status from the play store and it can reset your GPS and download new agps files for you to get better lock ons. It's worth a shot but I think you might be stuck until they fix it.
As for bluetooth, what are you doing when you notice it go out? Also are you rooted all that basic device info stuff?
#blamegoogle lol. Smart lock has been a bit buggy for a lot of users. I've had issues with the trusted places and trusted face. Hopefully Google will get this ironed out in future updates.

Nothing I've tried as fixed that issue, to the point of I don't even bother locking the phone anymore. Only time I really have any concern about anyways is when I'm away from home in public places, but I rarely leave my phone lying around for others to snoop or use or take!

The only reason I ask is that if a bluetooth device disconnects and reconnects you have to input your password once then smart lock works again.

OOPS. This was my fault. Well actually it is still the phones fault technically. I stream music mostly so when I leave the house my wifi is being used so when I leave the house and become out of range my phone will start looking for wifi again so my streaming music will stop. I thought it was the bluetooth but in actuality it was my phone looking for a wifi signal instead of instantly/quickly switching the data from wifi to LTE.
What really made me think it was the bluetooth is that, I have Optimum hotspots so my phone will switch from my home wifi to Optimum hotspots but the signal is not very strong for the data but strong enough to hold the wifi and not switch to LTE, soooooo I would turn my bluetooth on and off which most of the time would not work but by turning off wifi the phone will immediately switch to LTE and music is back. So its the phone that cannot tell or rather gauge a signals strength to see if it is too low for data and switch to LTE.
BUT YES, my bluetooth device smart lock is not working at all. Neither is the location smart unlock and I have tried the "Right and left neighbor address" trick. Still not working. Its broken.
Try the new play services: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...d-wear-notification-dismissible-apk-download/
It fixed the home location for me.

Is anyone else having issues with apps not being able to use GPS to find their location? Specifically, the weather extension from DashClock and Notification Weather Pro. Neither seems to be able to use just GPS to find my location. I must have network location turned in in order for them to work. That doesn't seem normal to me.

OK never mind, Notification Weather Pro seems to be working now. DashClock still can't find me though. Probably something wrong with DashClock.
edit: Yep, just DashClock. I installed it on my S4 Active and it's doing the same thing.
2nd edit: First post still stands. Upon Notification Weather's next sync, it lost my location.

Well I installed notification weather yesterday, which prompted this post. I spoke with the developer of the app last night and he said it was designed to function that way. I'm going to assume the same is the case with DashClock. That said, I have zero issues with GPS or any other app that uses location, including Maps.

I've had this problem on my N4 and this phone so I don't think it's specific to this device. If I turn off network location and wifi so that it ONLY uses GPS, it takes so long to lock a location that I just saw forget it. I've had to leave the wifi/network location active basically to have any function of quick GPS polls for things like weather.
my first realization was when I did a factory reset for the hell of it the other day to see if it would help anything. By default network/wifi location was off. I opened up maps to let it load and adjust location settings and it gave me the old "enable network/wifi" jargon which I ignored and set to never remind me. I sat here for 5 mins and didn't get a lock. Turned those settings on and instant gps no problem.
If you figure it out, please update because i'd be really interested too.

The dev I spoke to last night said this is exactly why his app requires both GPS and network location to work. He said GPS takes forever to find your location whereas network location is near instant. That said, I don't think there is any solution because there isn't necessarily a problem. It's just the way it is. Now my question is does having network location enabled cause any more of a battery drain than just GPS?

That's the kicker. I feel like it's a double edged sword. Turning them off IMO would save battery since there is less polling and work being done. But at the same time, when something needs gps, it's going to take longer to get the gps lock which would be more battery. So i'm not exactly sure and haven't done any real world testing yet.
Hello,
My smartwatch LG G Watch R is connected throug bluetooth, but 9 out of 10 times teh ok google says its offline, with a slashed cloud.
I have allready factory reset both phone and watch.
Reinstall Google Now
Check settings 100 times
Is my watch broken? Or can this be another problem?
regards,
Frans
I have had this a couple of times. It is the phone not connecting to the internet. I only have had it when on wifi. Switched wifi on phone off and on and that fixed it.
Does it happen on wifi and mobile data?
Hi. Yes it means that it's connected to the phone but the phone is not connected to the Internet.

Have the same problem; it's connected via bluetooth AND voice recognition works perfectly on the phone - any ideas anyone ?
Ash
seems to be when i receive a card, directly after it wont connect
Hi all, I've registered in order to ask exactly the same question.
Every time I use some voice recognition (i.e. give an order, answer to someone...) I got these "offline" errors same as OP.
"Offline" or "Can't reach Google at the moment" even if my phone is 100% with internet conectivity.
Anyone got this fixed? Any troubleshooting around it?
Thanks in advance !
I'd expect it would happen if you have a battery saver like Juice Defender on the phone that turns off data when the screen is off, or only switches it on every 15 mins etc. I'd turn off any battery saving stuff on the phone that could be doing anything like that and see if there's any improvement
At least I, I don't have any kind of battery saving application...
Add me to this list. Total garbage. I've had this watch for a few days and I'm very underwhelmed because of this problem.
I've experienced the same problem. Watch works when wifi is active but goes" offline" when only connected to data. I believe I've come across a solution. It's working for me.
Switch on background data for Google search.(on your phone) That worked for me.
Go to settings, data usage, scroll down to Google search (should be there on the list) and make sure background data isn't restricted.
Hope this helps. Good luck guys/girls.

Nope no joy for me with this...
No ticks in any app on that list..!
These constant disconnects are really getting to me now !
Strangely I'm on a note 3 too, albeit running the leaked lollipop rom, I take it your still on stock KitKat firmware ?
I was going to flash back to 4.4.3 stock to see if it cures it but if you're still on this I won't bother.

Looks like a very common problem across all android wear watches.
Even though I have a G Watch R, I've had a nosey around and according to the Moto 360 forums they are having the same issues so I would guess either lollipop on the watch has an issue or the latest android wear app.. rather than the watch itself if the 360 is doing the same.
And I don't think it did this when the Mrs first bought my watch and let me try it out prior to putting it away for xmas.
I had a good few hours playing with it to make sure it was working ok and what I wanted for my xmas present
This was before the updates to the app and watch firmware.
Had it been like it is now I think I would have sent it back...!
Hopefully it will get fixed after the New Year and everyone gets back to their jobs at Google..
Most of the functions still go to the "cloud" to work, so if you have any battery saving "features" enabled that restrict Google Play Service, then you'll likely to run into problems.
I've seen this problem also and it was caused by my flakey wifi connection or trying to make the watch do something while out of signal (like in an elevator). But that not the watch's fault...
You can try downloading the voice recognition offline, that could help, but it still neds internet to work properly. Uninstall all batery saving garbage (I have yet to see a working one) and try again.
Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you. I had that problem on 4.3 and upgraded to 4.4 thinking it would solve the issue. Changing bootloaders, roms, android versions didn't fix it until I reenabled background data.
I was rooted running jedi 4.3 rom when I got my g watch r. Switched to PAC ROM 4.4.4 and the prob was still there. It's all good now though. Good luck and hope you find a fix. I totally understand your frustration.

Hey guys, so this has bugged me since the Galaxy s3. I use the note 4 now. I used the Gmail app and most of the time the email is delayed 1-2 mins. Sometimes it can be for 30 mins. Hangouts/ Google voice message is always slower than on my Pc. This is one thing that the iPhone does much better. I used to use the iPhone 6 plus and it's email/hangouts/Google voice messages are instant and faster than my Pc. Anyone experience this? Any fix? Thanks.
P/s: I did check auto sync and notification for every category. The issue is not my wifi because the iPhone is also on this wifi.
I doubt you gonna get a fix. We all experience this.

God this may be a deal breaker for some people especially who works with emails a lot. The iPhone does an incredible job on push service. I bought the note 4 hoping this issue gets fixed...
I don't have an issue with push services, but the applications themselves have been a bit glitch lately. Think it had to do with them being first material theme design releases. Hoping the next releases are smoother.

Same thing here. I'm coming from a M7 and I'm noticing a delay in receiving pushed notifications...
Worst thing is the delay is pretty random. Sometimes it can be 1-2 mins. Other time its 5 mins. I notice at night its significantly delayed up to over 30 mins...
I've searched google and surprised not a lot complaints about this. Google voice message on android is much less useful than on iPhone since the messages are a bit delayed ;(((
I've found the reason. It is indeed my WiFi. When I switch to LTE, email is instant ,even faster than my PC, just like the iPhone. I guess its time to get a new router or some settings need adjusting

Does it happen only on your wifi? Did you try it on another network? I doubt to be your router... It happens to me as well regardless of the wifi network that I'm connected to.
Does the note has any wifi optimization feature as HTC does? Something to minimize battery usage when wifi is on?

I can confirm that on LTE, the email is instant and even faster than my PC,just like the same speed I got on the iPhone. I've been using only LTE for 2 days and this makes me happy since it was almost a deal breaker to me.
However on WiFi its delayed, at least at my home and my school. I experienced delay on school WiFi too. The phone has no issue with wifi, however. There's no drop signal or anything. I don't know why push service is delayed on WiFi. I hope there's a hidden wifi setting somewhere....
Nexus 4 had this problem. I don't think it was ever resolved.

Wow that would suck. If it works on your PC fine then your network is OK. Some settings on your phone are not set right. Post screen shots of your WiFi settings and advanced settings. This will help someone figure it out. Also what router and ISP do you have

I searched around and found out this is actually a common issue of Android. (searched "delayed notification android"). This can be fixed with an app (need root tho). I switched to unlimited data so I don't use wifi much on my phone any more

What app?
Hey guys, time to dust off my account.
I have had a Nexus 6 for about two months now and have recently encountered a major problem: My Nexus 6 doesn't receive push notifications over wifi (and certain apps wont work).
Heres a quick list of what doesn't work:
-I get emails only when i look for them
-I get no notifications of any kind (What'sApp, etc.) on wifi
-Snapchat doesn't even load over my wifi
-Netflix doesn't even load over my wifi
-BUT Everything works over my 4G coverage
Is it something to do with my wifi, because I feel like it is.
(My Nexus 6 is on stock Lollipop 5.1 Build Number LMY47D on ATT)

Your feelings are absolutely correct. My previous job had a crappy/restricted Wi-Fi for mobile devices and I had the same issue. When I'd go outside for a break and my phone would change over to LTE, I'd get a bunch of notifications (Gmail, WordFeud, etc.). I would have complained but it was only a temporary gig for me so I didn't care. I don't have this problem at home on my Wi-Fi.

Seriously, can somebody fill me in on what it's supposed to do on our devices?
On my old nexus 5, it did exactly what it was supposed to do: disable the lock screen when a trusted device or trusted place was setup. This was really nice for when I was connected to my bluetooth speakers at home, or even just using my home address. I wouldn't have to unlock the phone with a lock pin or anything. Just turn it on and bam, right where it was before the screen went off.
On the note 5, and I've tried everything, it doesn't seem to do jack sh*t. I've checked settings and removed trusted places and devices and really added them, but the screen is always locked.
Please tell me I am missing something, as that was an awesome feature on my old phone, and I'd like to secure with a fingerprint or pink when not at home, while not having to do so in a safe environment.
Works fine for me. There is still a lock screen but all it requires is a swipe. Otherwise my fingerprint is needed.
Sent from my SM-N920S using Tapatalk
Works fine. However, go into the same setting where you turned it on and make sure it hasn't turned off. I have found, for some reason, that it turns off by itself sometimes. Usually when you first turn it on and/or after you do a battery pull reset.
When I am connected to my cars Bluetooth as a trusted device, I have to swipe and then use the fingerprint to unlock the phone. It wont even let me just use the fingerprint to unlock the screen. How are you guys getting it to work? Did it work out of the box for you?
I don't have to do that in my car - just swipe. It had worked correctly for me from daily 1...
I believe it times out after 4 hours, so I do have to use fingerprint 1st thing in the morning. But that's it.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
It's not working right for me neither. Still locks when I'm at home (my only trusted location) and is a hit or miss when it's on my body. Trusted Bluetooth works like a charm though. I think it may have something to do with the near 200 packages I have disabled, but I have neither the time nor the inclination to go testing each package to see which one works.

Strange that it works for some and drives others of us crazy. I used it forever without incident on my nexus4.
For those that have it working:
1) Is fingerprint the standard security that you use?
2) Do you have/use Samsung Pay?

This is driving me nuts. Worked so easily on my Nexus4. Things I've tried:
* changing lock type (finger, pattern, pin)
* multiple Bluetooth devices for trusted device (including adding and removing)
* enabling ALL disabled packages and bloat
* uninstalling Samsung Pay
Still nothing. Wondering if maybe this is carrier specific... I'm on Tmo, others?
same here, I just canceled my smart lock, to live normally now. otherwise I get upset.
Yeah this doesn't work for me either. I see the lock, but swipe just then brings me to fingerprint. Same with setting my GPS / home as a trusted location. Never worked for me.

No sir. The design is actually exquisitely beautiful. But I have been running into one disappointment after another with this phone. That didn't happen with my Note 2. There must be a way to recalibrate it
No issues on AT&T Note 5. I've used both a Moto 360 and Gear S2 as smart unlock devices when connected. At pairing I got prompted to set it up as a trusted device and since then they've worked perfectly.
I use fingerprint lock and both Samsung Pay and Android Pay.
Working fine for me too. Used it first with my car, a Sony Smartwatch 3 and now LG Urbane. Never had any issue and works as intended. Only time it failed was when GPS was off and was using trusted location. Have you tried a reset? And is the 'On-Body' lock detection on?
