Hello
On Wednesday, I was sending and receiving multiple texts all day just fine.
Now starting Thursday morning, i sent out some texts to 15 different people, all said they received it and texted back.
My phone has not received a single text since wednesday. It can do everything else, send texts, phone calls, etc.
I'm on cognition 4 ROM, i've tried hard resetting it multiple times, called ATT and they said I should be getting them but I am not. I have full service. They also said i'm not the first person to call about this problem. I've also put my SIM in another phone and still no texts received.
Any ways to fix this?

If you put the similar in another phone and you are still not getting them then it is a network issue. Are you using a 3rd party text app?

Nope. Stock texting.
That's what ATT is apparently telling me and it's pretty frustrating.
ATT needs to "re-activate" your phone.
I've had this problem 3 times. Sometimes it will take a few hours for all the old texts you missed to show up.
I had the same issue. Went to the ATT store told them I called customer service and that customer service said i needed a new SIM card. Got a new SIM card - problem solved. Then almost immediately all my texts started showing up.

I agree. Sounds like a bad sim card, especially considering you didn't receive texts in the other phone you put your sim in.
I got the phone yesterday after work and started my set up and after messing around all night and today I noticed I was unable to send or receive text. After talking to Sprint it seems it is my Airave that is keeping it from sending and receiving. Once unplugged it sends and receives just fine.
Has any else had this issue and found a way to correct it?
I have the same issue, called Airave support yesterday and they were gonna look into it and call me back today.... nothing as of yet. I also can't even make phone calls on the Airave either though, get some goofy message when trying to make a call.
That would explain my crappy text service last night. Roam widget won't work either, don't know if roaming is working. Anyone else (not to derail the op)?

Airave always has issues with texting. I have one at my house and it would always mess up my messages it sent like 30 of the same message to the same person

Yeah my Airave had the multiple texts issue if I was texting "too fast", but I've learned how to work around that and just not text too much too fast. However, when my ONE was on the Airave, it wouldn't send at all, just gave me the red exclamation point. I also tried making phone calls and they wouldn't go through. Works find on my old EVO 4G. Will keep posted on anything I can find out.
Yea with my Evo Lte I got the multiple text issue, but with the One I too can't send with the Airave plugged in only thing I could do was unplug and then I could send text.

Had same problem with my wife's phone day I brought it home called Sprint and they zapped both my air rave and phone. Then reset PRL and all is well. Funny thing is tech on phone said "Oh you live in Texas you should regularly update your PRL."

Interesting, I thought they did the same for me but to no avail. I'll try it again tomorrow. Good info!

I had this issue as well on Friday night when I got home with two new HTC Ones. The issue comes down to the Airave and the MSID of your phones. The Airave tech I spoke to told me that the Airave was holding on to the MSID on the old phones. Here is how they resolved it:
Airave support first wanted me to modify the MSID on the old deactivated phones. Unfortunately, the old deactivated phones were running CM 4.2.2, so the EPST codes they wanted me to dial would not work. If you have a semi-stock ROM running on your old phone, you may be able to solve the issue by following the Airave support instructions and resetting the MSID on the old phone.
With my scenario, they had me modify the MSID on both of the new HTC Ones. Call into Airave support (866-556-7310), and they should be able to walk you thru changing the MSID on your new HTC One.
After completing their steps, both of the NEW HTC Ones are working great. Airave coverage now works for calls, text, and data. When I leave Airave coverage, everything works as it should.

Only way I know how to stop the repeating messages is to reboot your phone. The other person would tell me that it was sending her the same message more than once so I just rebooted and that seemed to stop it

This seemed to fix it for me:
1. Unplug Airave.
2. Update PRL on phone; reboot it.
3. Turn phone on airplane mode.
4. Plug in Airave and wait for it to boot completely.
5. Turn off airplane mode and wait for it to establish data connection.
6. Test.
Sending & receiving texts worked, as did making/receiving calls.

I tried that as well on Friday night but did not work. Calls and inbound texts would work, but still could not send any outbound texts. Airave support was great though and got it all squared away.

What steps did they take in your situation? I usually just had to update my prl, profile, and power cycle the Airave with no phone call to tech support. I just got mine yesterday and haven't had any issues sending or recieving texts or phones calls inbound or outbound with the HTC One so far at least! My GS3 used to receive multiple texts and not send them out when sent. I have the 2.5 Airave in my home. Which Airave do you have??
Worked for me, good find. Still never received a call back from Airave tech support, shocker

i have had nothing but bad luck with my brand new s6 on tmobile.
the main issue:
outgoing sms messages take at least 45 seconds to either get marked as send, or fail. when the fail, they are actually being sent. when they send, they send twice. 30% of the texts i send from my phone and to my phone do not make it to their destination at all.
fixes i have tried:
disabling volte, disabling wifi calling, switching back to stock messaging, factory resetting
tmobile support swore that a new sim card would fix the issue. it did not.
then support guaranteed me that a factory reset would fix the issue. against my better judgment, i reset the device. naturally, this made it worse; when i turn my phone on now i have zero bars of service for at least 5 minutes. literally no service. i am in nyc and normally have 5 bars of LTE.
nobody will recognize that this is actually a problem with tmobile, yet when i google "tmobile can't text over wifi" i get pages and pages of people with the exact same issue over years. reading through those threads there is no solution because tmobile support closes every one of them after 36 hours of inactivity, assuming the problem has been solved. what the **** kind of customer support is this?
texting is my primary form of communication and i am unable to use it. this is unacceptable behavior for any phone, let alone a brand new $700 super-hyped phone. i was on verizon for ten years and it never lost a single text. it's worth noting that there were similar issues with my last phone, an s4.
is nobody else having these issues?

I have the S6 on T-Mobile. I can text just fine using the stock app. Both SMS and MMS. Play with your APN settings, OR, use textra SMS. There is an option under MMS specifically for sending MMS while using wifi on T-Mobile.

When i left Verizon a few years ago for t-mobile, i had had plenty of texts not making it to their destination, so trust me, verizon is not perfect. (they should be though with the amount that they charge)
Try using IP v6 in your settings...
Then try IP v4 in your settings
Then try IP v4 / v6 in your settings and see if that helps with
Native texting App text to yourself to test.
Restart each change of APN.

Use to happen to me at least once a month on Verizon. T-Mobile hasn't lost one text for me yet. I keep asking myself why I stayed with big red for so long.
Reflash the original firmware - wipe everything start over. My GS6 works fine for me

IPv6 is what newer phones are coming preset with as opposed to IPv4 since that is what is correct going forward, per T-Mobile.

still waiting on my replacement device, but here's an interesting thing i realized today: this problem only occurs in my apartment. BUT i am not connected to wifi (it's turned off and i told android to forget my home network), and i'm on a 9th floor apartment with no other buildings around me. i've never had reception issues in the past here...this doesn't make sense to me at all
I'm using a T-mobile S6 since April 10th. I use Textra also over WiFi with 0 issues. All sms and mms come and go without issue.

Same, guess we're fortunate lol. I haven't seen or heard any text related issue specific to the S6, I know MMS is sometimes wonky with T-Mobile while connected to WiFi

For past week or two I have been having sms issues. Some of my friends send me sms and they dont get through. It not related to specific provider ( I had issues receiving txt from Sprint and T-mobile and also at&t) Any ideas what could be causing random missing texts ?

already tried that several times - no luck
I had the same issue. I have Google Voice integration, so I can check through the app if my text messages were coming in.
This is how I fixed my issue, but your milage may vary.
So a few weeks ago I added "DUN" to the apn to get the hotspot mod working on my phone so I could tether my laptop while on the go. Then I realized some MMS messages were coming in up to a day late. Then I realized I wasn't getting many text messages, so I checked Google Voice and it showed many unanswered replies. I connected the dots, after updating the profile, prl, clearing cache, doing data diagnostics, and many hours of hair pulling. I use texting for work often, so I needed to fix this.
Then I realized that I did the hotspot mod, and gave it a random chance that perhaps this was my problem. I removed the "DUN" from the apn and rebooted, sent a few test messages, and I started to receive all the messages just fine. I doubt changing the apn would prevent texts from showing up, but I've seen phones do crazy things before.
So if you did the hotspot mod, disable that/undo it/revert it back to default apn. And go in and manually check that the "DUN" is no longer there. If you didn't do the hotspot mod, then I have no idea how to help ya bro.
But give this a shot, because that's what helped me.
Call sprint. Have them turn off your phone. Let them reset the data and voice for your phone. Then you turn it back on and dial ##72786#. This should fix all the data on your phone.

Interesting thing going on with Messages.
I have my AT&T Sim in my Huawei Mate 20 X. My Pixel 4 XL is on beside me using WiFi. But I'm not using it. It's just on.
I texted my wife a minute ago using my Mate, but her replies come to my P4XL, even though it does not have a sim in it. I tried to respond to her text using the P4XL, but it won't send. So, I replied using the Mate. All of her responses come to the P4XL, not the Mate with the sim that my texts originate from. Weird.
Not really a bug, I guess. Just an interesting thing.
Same thing happens here
Even if I have no service (international) but connected to wifi I can make and send calls and text
You're probably using RCS, or something is stuck as though you're using RCS.

Dunno. Theoretically it should work. I send and receive text messages (and calls) all the time with only a Wi-Fi signal, but I've never pulled my SIM to test it. Hand in hand with Wi-Fi calling, RCS is a great thing. Not sure why one would want to switch it off.

I turned it off on the phone I'm not using. I have it enabled on my 20X, although, it doesn't work all the time. It gets stuck on "Connecting" a lot.
