Thanks not what I wanted to hear, I was hoping someone could dump their rom or something for me to odin flash it.. but ok Thanks I appreciate your response
Fixed --brick fix
:angel:FIXED!!! NO BEST BUY NEEDED!!! THANKS TO NIKEDROP FOR POSTING THIS
If you need help I solved my soft brick. Put your phone into download mode then flash the stock kernal using odin. Reboot then flash using odin the stock partition. While this wont downgrade to 4.4.X because you are on ota 5.0 you will be able to get your phone back to 5.0 lollipop. Thanks to Fitz110 who uploaded these files and for the solution. I posted the correct links. If they have been removed, best of luck to you. But what I did was reflash modem and kernel that should work if you brick it.
I'm also lost as well. I have my s5 for AT&T still on lollipop 5.0. I tried to downgrade before reading this and so far still don't have a working phone. Kies doesn't register the phone but I do have odin working and the stock recovery works and have already flashed the kernal plus stock partitions and still not working. Noth flashed without issue. I've also tried flashing the oc4 with built in odin and it fails every time. What else is there to try?

Hey these files no longer exist

Hello,
New to XDA, and a noob.
I have a newly acquired GT-I9305T from Telstra Australia Very happy with the device, even the stock ROM, just want root to make some tweaks, uninstall some bloat, adblock etc.
I have read through the forums and think I have a good course of action for backup and rooting ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967124 ), just want some clarification about returning to a stock state before proceeding.
Current device state
Android 4.1.1
Basband I9305TDVAL15
Kernel Version 3.0.31-178410
Build JRO03C.I9305TDVAL16
I am happy to purchase Triangle Away to remove the counter if I flash custom ROMS etc.
Will the following procedure return me to stock state for warranty reasons....?
1. Revert to a nandroid back-up of stock rom taken directly after CWM/rooting
2. Use Triangle Away to remove "!" and counter
3. Put phone into download mode and flash the files from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971265
Some extra q's
Does the order of flashing in step 3 matter ...?
Am I better using stock ROM from http://www.sammobile.com instead of nandroid backup...?
Alternatively if I use CWM and flash the files from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947920 as step 3, will the counter still be 0 after using Triangle Away seeing you have to boot into recovery...?
Thank you in advance for any help and advice. I realise that this question is mainly answered throughout other threads, but I have read so much different stuff I would just like to clarify.
Thanks again.
You would be better off Downloading the Stock Rom with Odin and keeping the Files in a safe place.
I keep mine Burned to a CD and on a 4Gb USB and keep it with the Original Box.
Flashing a Stock Rom will also Flash the Recovery and Kernel.
I know people that have tried to do a nandroid restore and full Bricking their device.
And Use Triangle Away just before flashing Stock to remove the "!" and make sure Flash Counter is Reset to Zero.
Thank you so much...
Could you point me to a reliable guide for downloading the stock ROM, or give me a quick run-down.
I have Odin3 V3.04 in preparation for flashing CWM/root.

The Best place to Download Stock Roms is SamMobile. http://www.sammobile.com. Free to Join.
I can see they have the Telstra I9305TDVALI6, which is the same Build as your Stock.

All good man.
When you said " Downloading the Stock Rom with Odin" in your first reply... I thought that meant you could somehow download the current ROM of the device. Which was news to me lol, though I might have been missing something.
I have registered with sammobile and am currently downloading the firmware.
In the meantime I have backed-up IMEI/EFS, CWM'ed, rooted and nandroided... so should be all good
Thanks again for the advice, all the appropriate data and instruction is safely tucked away in case needed in the future.
Cheers

I have my G900a and I had to reset it, and whenever I downgrade the kernel to use towelroot my phone wont boot, it freezes at the Samsung logo and then goes black, I was wondering if anyone can give me a rooted stock rom (Doesn't matter what version) download so I can flash it on my phone using odin.
If you can solve my problem with downgrading the kernel without it getting stuck let me know please.
I'm on 4.4.2 but I'm using oa1 kernel, its the only way I could get my phone to boot.
Thanks very much for the help.

If you have 0a1 kernel i believe that you can't downgrade to a different one. I might be wrong but i think i read it somewhere on here. Might try to search it.

If you have OA1 bootloader or lower, which seems to be the case for you, you can download the downgrade to NCE tar file from the first post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-update-to-g900aoca-5-0-keeproot-t3076803 (thanks to @muniz_ri) and flash it with pc odin and take it from there.
EDIT: I tried this and there is some additional steps to make it work. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60135975&postcount=290
Please see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...-downgraded-baseband-fixed-4-4-2-lag-t3065973. I had the same problem.

You cannot update to lollipop using twrp.
It has to be done using odin.
If you want to stay 100% stock and rooted then you need
to odin flash twrp and cf-autoroot.
If you want to flash a custom lollipop rom then you will
need to odin flash lollipop official firmware and odin
flash twrp.
All custom roms are pre-rooted so no need to root them.
Good luck!

Thanks.. So can I just straight up update from what I'm on now?
Just put phone in download mode and update via Odin correct?
Will this erase my stuff internal memory? Movies/pictures
Yes you can. You should back up your stuff though because you'll want to do a factory reset or erase data to get the best results with lollipop.
Although, I did all that and I've got my movies and pictures.

Be sure you get the proper version of the lollipop N910T tmobile
firmware from a reliable source like http://sammobile.com and
flash it using odin.
Before flashing new firmware it's always best to do a factory reset first.
Back up all your important stuff first.
Good luck!

That's totally safe.
I just odin flashed.
I didn't erase data till I flashed my rom.
Admittedly within a minute of going through the process.
Mega's instructions are good. You just stop at 5

You need to navigate in odin and find the location where you saved the firmware file.
There is a box next to the PDA slot and you need to click it and use it to locate the file.
Good luck!

Yes it's perfectly safe and doing it that way you will not loose any data,
passwords or settings.
It also is a lot faster than downloading the firmware file.
I am not sure if rooting makes a difference, when I updated using kies
it worked fine for me, kies did tell me that I have un-official firmware
but it gave me the option to continue which I did without any issues.
With kies it takes less than 1/2 the time for it to complete the download and
install/update the firmware compared to a standard download and flash..
Good luck!

Hey guys, after updating my phone to lollipop with the flashfire method to keep root, I (stupidly) used the settings->delete all data to do a factory reset a week later. Now my device bootloops. I can get it into download mode, but I was unsure what I should flash. I didn't see a 5.0 stock firmware that I could use with odin. Can I just flash an old kitkat firmware and be fine? Thanks in advance, everyone!
Edit: ANSWERED!
If u used @muniz_ri way to update ur fine to redo.
If u did ota u can't on 900a.
Yeah I used his method, thanks I'll try that now.
Thanks, that worked and all is well!
Now how to mark this as answered...
Ur last post .
i had googled the stock firmware(5.0.2) and i found it
but when i flashing on Odin, i just saw the filed message.
i think i get wrong frimware.
is there anyone who know about the place i can get stock firmware?
i can't fix the vibration issue(my previous thread).
so, i want to back to initial firmware.
plz help me
If you have 5.1.1 you can't go back to 5.0.2 until the phone is rooted.
