Exactly same thing happened with me , touch buttons not working and bottom 2 cms not responding . Can you tell me how are you getting it fixed?? I am from India and here the service centers are telling me that I might need to wait for 2 months , and the price is 6800!!.
I am thinking about fixing the screen myself ( already ordered the screen online ) .

Hi everyone!
Sad thing happend with me, 4 days ago i fell into a river and sadly ma diamond was in the pocket. I dryed it for three days, turned it on, everthing else works, besides the screen light. So i dissambeled the phone to bits and pieces, only i didn't took the LCD out(read it from somewhere that you can't put it back on afterwards so it will work). I reassambeled it and still same situation. If you look it from a angel you can see the icons and even touchscreen works. Only problem is still the backlight. So is there something i can do to make the backlight work again or i have to buy a new screen and is it hard to swap the screen ?
Hi,
Not sure if you will need to replace the screen, if you can get to the power settings you can see if the backlight has been manually turned down. If this fails and a screen replacement is required i will tell you how easy/difficult it is once i have replaced mine, due to unfortunate circumstances.
yeah, i got into the power settings, everthing is okey there like it should be , so i have to change the screen. Is there some kind on intrcutions for changing it? it would help me a lot
my diamond's touch screen started not to work anymore.. and i though maybe its the rom or something.. i flashed a new rom and now i stucked at the screen allign thing.. when im touching the the plus shaped thing, phone is not responding.. when i touched several times, it respond like 2-3 min later.. but i couldnt pass the allign screen thing.. any idea about the problem??
up.. any ideas?
Speed up the phone through changing the touch screen
Hi guys,
today it is rany sunday. So i changed my ugly scrached touch screen of the Touch Diamond. I bought it for about 10,00 € at ebay. It was coming with tools for screws with Torx. But my phone has only cross slot screws with size "Philips 000". You can buy the glass for about 5,00 € without the tools. I was glad to find this tool in my own box. I used this tutorial: http://erkinson.altervista.org/de/htc-touch-diamondsmontaggio-e-sostituzione-touchdisplay/ It's original language is italian but the google translation was great enough. The brazing for the cable of the touch glass was easilier than i thought. The two connectors from the screen and from zhe key pad i must connect two times. The first try the screen stay blank after switching on. For this two connectors read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657514
Now everything is working fine and it seems that the phone is much faster after the repair. The steering over the screen is much more smoothly and all movements are more exactly.
Is it possible that the scratches on the screen require mor calculating power while the movements with the tip or the finger?
Try it and share some results with me.
Rudi
Add 21.09.11: Now the phone is running well some days. The only thing that is not working anymore is the power consumption out of the battery. The Phone is getting hot and the battery is empty very fast. Also when the phone is switched off (not in standby) the battery is empty after about 3 hours. I disassembled and assembled again but with no new results. I was looking for some fibre of the metallized tapes. But i found nothing. Has someone experiance with that behavier?

Hi guys.
Had a galaxy s for 3 months now. Everything seems fine, till yesterday night. The lower part of the screen is not responding. The letter "F" on the keyboard is un-pressable, but went back to normal a few mins later.
Later....
The next morning(Today), had notifications for sms, and this time, the jigsaw notification is un-pressable as well. Its on the same part as the letter "F" in the keyboard. However, its back to normal after a few mins.
I have a hunch that its software error, but might even be a hardware one since its on the same location. Would appreciate any help/experience from other users. Im just afraid this would happen again in a time of need...
Sorry for bad english
Bump for more people to see
i have a similar problem, too
a little part of the touchscreen doesnt work
think about a line from left to right in 0.5cm thickness just below the top of the screen that doesnt respond to touch
i checked with *#*#2664#*#* and that part does not respond
im curious if this will end up in a whole screen replacemnet
did you solve it ?
Hi, I have the phone for a month now, its 4 months old. This problem is on since I bought it.
When I try to slide notifications roll-down panel from the top, it is sometimes almost impossible to do. When I do it with whole thumb, it goes down normally, but when I try with other smaller fingers, it wont respond. Also in chrome, I have problems editing www address bar, because it just wont respond to touch. It responds immediately when the phone is in vertical position and I tap there with my thumb.
Since rest of the screen works fine and that particular area works well in certain conditions, I am wondering, if there is some kind of calibration app or setting for digitizer. Phone has not been dropped down, nor it has scratches or anything on display. I have screen protector and so I assume it can be somehow related to it. I have almost simillar issue with old HTC Touch Pro years back, but there was an option to calibrate touch screen with stylus. So I am just wondering, if someone can advise something to do. I really dont feel like waiting 30 days solving it by dealer.
Nexus 7 responds way better on the edges than my One. Also, bottom edge and sides are working fine.
As I am trying to do this over and over I have noticed, that when I click digitizer in chrome on text in adderss bar, there is no respond, but when I click just a bit above the text, it responds with any of my fingers, So it seems like its moved up or something (if you know what I mean, I can not really explain this any better

Not normal, I woudn't bother caliberating it. Just return it to the store, or try warranty via the htc website.
In my case htc always came to my place to get the phone, and they always brought it back after a week or so.
They have a great service

Problem is, that in my country, there is no official service center, thus it has to be sent to our neighbor, and because of that, it takes forever to work it out. I could live with that, if there is no self-help, but I was just wondering whether there is some app or setting or not.
