Hi,
This morning (Sat, april 25th) my phone says there is an update.
Does anyone know if this is L5?
I am guessing if it is, I have to chose between it and losing root access?
Not sure if it's worth it..just upgraded a Samsung tablet to 5.01 and don't see any improvements.
Thanks!
I've got an update too and judging from it's size (about 780MB, V20a-APR-10-2015) it could be lollipop but I get an error after restart so I'm not sure what to do with it. Anyone knows what can I try? I dont have root or anything and it restarts the phone, gets to 2% and then error.

Any kind of modifications will cause phone to give you errors doing update. You can use LG Mobile Support Tool and option to do an emergency software recovery.
I've already got it but now im dealing with tethering issues :/
No update yet on my side...

This morning I made an update via LG Pc Suite. The update was a large one but could not "see" what it was. My phone is rooted. After the update was finished I have lost root rights, lost the nvidia app, all pre installed games, I have rooted the phone again, tried to install rom manager and restore a back up made a week ago but also not working. The phone kept giving a failure notice when trying to run Titanium back up. I eventually did manage to manually install the last back up from recovery, but now phone is stauck on LG boot screen. Any help please. I think the only difference after the update this morning was the V10d instead of the V10c. thank you for your help.

I wouldnt have left you like that.
Well the solution was found here: http://www.usp-forum.de/lg-p990-opt...-lg-p990-optimus-speed-flashen-anleitung.html
Its in german but basically it says no more than things which are common sence to all devs but for a guy like me its like rocket sience. Its the smartflash procedure with a german rom.
The bad thing is that I have lost at least 6 hours of my life only to found this tiny little program that does wonders. Anyway I am really pissed off with LG because the rolled out an update (be careful out there with LG PC suite) which basically messed up my phone.
Cheers.
Well, 2 my experiments with official LG update ended up with "bricked" phone where only SmartFlash helped. I strongly discourage anyone from using it
This morning i tried searching for a new phone software update via LG PC suite and I got the notification that there is an update for the phone. Undortunately I cannot "see" what the hell this update is for. As I mentioned on the first post above, this is a rather large update. Does anyone know what this could be? Could it be a LGE Version (V10d)?

I have called LG customer service to ask them what this update is.. "If your phone is working properly you should not do the update" he said to me.... Sorry? Why do you release an update then?? "This is made automatically, the phone always finds updates"... so why didnt it find last week? "Well this may be a problem with your PC" What???? are you crazy? So you are telling me that when the 2.3 rolls out I shall not do the update becaue my phone works fine? "Yes Sir". I want to know what this update is... "This is the call centre sir, we do not know"...
Well If there is one reason to change the phone it would only be because of the customer service and their unreliability...
Customer service is everywhere the same,at least they picked up your phone
And yes, they dont have these informations usually, and getting them when responsible project does not issue any changelist is problematic. Its more like project management
issue , which should not be big suprise considering all the troubles...

I give up. I have called US (live chat). No help there. LG Swiss gave me their service centre office (another company).... nothing..
Well it must be a ghost update chasing me around.... hmmm root and ROM is the solution.
This morning I got an update message from the LG Updater that there is an update to download. This time it shows that the the New Version is V10D.. I am running on V10C.
Can anyone tell me please:
a) Should i update or not? The phone is rooted running stock rom
b) Does the "D" version imrpove something?
thank you
First off, thanks for the link..really appreaciate it. It work..my limping super soft brick 2x now can breathe again. Those german forum was not bad..a step by step instruction was given for newbie like me.
Owh btw, i say..no need to change to 10D as it is for german vodafone branded firmware while 10C for open firmware, that what it said in the link you gave us above.
Newbie on the block.
ok guys, i have a question for you. keep in mind that im new to the phone world lol. ok so a bout a month ago i wanted to unroot my phone but for some reason the tar files on sammobile wasnt working right. so i came on here and downloaded what i believed to be the file that i needed to go back to stock. after i used odin and the phone rebooted it automatically notified me that i had a update. after i accepted the update and it rebooted, it again notified me that i have yet another update. so after this happened i noticed that my phone was updated to 4.4.4 kitkat which would be great exept for the fact that it keeps freezing and when i am on wifi i have a problem getting phone calls aswell as text messages. also when i disconnect from wifi i have to restart the phone to get any data back. is there anything that i can do? is it possible to go back to 4.3 or even 4.2.2? any help would be very much appreciated.
Take a screenshot of your "about device" section so we know what build you're on please!

Well, that's a T-Mobile phone and you're in an AT&T forum so...
I don't see EQC1 on sammobile, anyone else see the 127 MB update?
I'm on EQB1.
Yup, I see it, 127.53mb on both of mine SM-N910T3 and
SM-N910T
I have it as well. Have you flashed yet?
I have it too. I'm not sure I want to flash, especially if it patches the ability to root my phone.
My phone also suffers from the SD card / reboot issue (the phone constantly boot loops when both an SD card and SIM card are in the phone). I wonder if this update will fix that?
I tried flashing it and it failed, I'm running a stock highly modified rom. I'll try reflashing the original stock unmodified rom when I get a chance tomorrow and apply the update. It looks like it's just security updates
Says "Various system improvements" for the QC1 update.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28899
I updated to this version the other day, now I'm looking to root. Anyone know if the old root method still works? I may try myself in the next few days myself and find out.
I upgraded to it yesterday. Took about 30 minutes from start of install to finish. It updates the security to March 2017, has the new Google Play Store. Other than that I do not notice any other differences
Can i root after upgrade?
Does anyone know if this fixes the mmc_read failed issue along with its constant lagging/freezing problem?

I'm pretty sure the mmc_read failure issue is failing hardware and no firmware release can fix this. My understanding is some Note4's had dodgy flash memory and will eventually fail. I had this happen to my note4 last year and got it changed out under warranty at a tmobile store. My phone had the constant lagging/freezing for about a month before it would just no longer boot, it wouldn't do anything other than a quick vibrate on power up, no boot screen of any type.
If you are getting mmc_read I would suggest you get the phone replaced ASAP, and make backups of everything you have on it that you want to keep. At some point it probably just wont power back on again. Hopefully you are still under a warranty and can get it swapped out.

Hi,
That's certainly is one possible scenario (hardware failing). But based on my extensive research too, many have said that this could be faulty firmware. I went to a Samsung Experience Center and talked with a guy there and he said that it's a known issue affecting many Galaxy Note 4 Sprint users a few months ago. Samsung in the end replaced/repaired the affected units free of charge.
In the past 2 months or so, more and more Galaxy Note 4 users started experiencing this issue. And so it could be that the firmware triggered the issue, and eventually damaged the hardware.
Since we don't really have a 100% certain answer (of course, Samsung will never tell us), I'm just trying to see if anyone has updated the phone to the latest firmware and could tell us if it fixed the issue.

Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...rom-n910t3uvu3eqc1-stock-rooted-odex-t3592242
I can't seem to get TWRP to work on this. I've tried several times with Odin, it appears to be successful, phone reboots, but then when I try to reboot into recovery there's no TWRP, only stock. Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions?
Edit: Tried something I remembered reading in another thread. I pulled the battery immediately after Odin successfully finished and the booted directly into recovery. It worked. I'm flashing pvsgh's rooted EQC1 and will report back if TWRP sticks
Edit 2: Success. Seems like pulling the battery after Odin/TWRP before the phone reboots did the trick
ok, thanks for the suggestion.

Greetings, I'm new to this forum but I've followed it for a long time in the great HTC days of installing windows on their phones. I live in France (nobody is perfect )
On from the introduction, my girlfriend and one of her friend have batteries problem with their note4 since a couple of weeks now: the phone "dies" at 34% or so reported remaining battery power. It refuses to start again unless plugged, the first days the charging animation even reported 34 remaining power but now it starts at 0%. And though I've ordered a new battery, her friend did the replacement before us and it didn't fix her problem, so I guess battery replacement won't fix mine.
So if it's not the battery, it may be the software (it may be a hardware problem on the board but I don't think it suddenly stroke two note 4) So my question is, how do we know if this upgrade is currently installed ? Is it the "build number" N910FXXU1DRF1 and/or baseband version N910FXXS1DQA1 or something else ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

This means you've disabled encryption on the boot partition.
You'll have to flash the stock firmware via Odin.
Totally stock, no bells and whistles.

My note 4 was going through this exact issue.
You'll need either a brand new battery, or you'll have to do a full format and reinstall whatever software you had prior.

Can you explain me a little more about that encryption on the boot partition.
First I was download official stock firmware for my model sm-n910t T-Mobile, than flash it try Odin and the problem is still stay Odin didn't change nothing. I was havin an OTA update that i couldn't install because of this DM- verify verifications failed.
So I download Smart Switch and through that program install the latest update that was realised this year with security patch from August I think it's Baseband version with N910TUVU2EQI2, but still problem is stay.
Do I need something more to do in Odin or what?

Honestly, I can't tell you more than I already have.
DM-verity (encryption) has to be active for you to be able accept an update.
I don't know why it's failing for you, can't fix it either.
Hi everyone, this morning the OTA update notified me that the october update was avaible for my phone, i started the update and after then it was working perfectly. When i was trying to unlock the phone, it started having some trouble recognizing or my face, either my fingerprint. So i decided to restart the phone, but back then it is contiously turning on and off, and sometimes it says "Android is updating your apps". When it is on i can try to use it but there is nor notification bar neither the back, home button. If i try to connect the phone to the pc, it is recognized. Can somebody help me? It is the european model, with exynos, 128 GB and 6 GB of RAM.

I would get the current stock firmware files for your phone model and the current version of Odin onto your laptop. Then just flash over everything. Try dirty flashing first (without wiping) as to not lose any data. If that doesn't work, wipe everything while flashing. You'll lose all your data and will have to set everything up again.
I honestly wouldn't bother trying to sort this yourself (And potentially making things worse), I'd just go straight to Samsung, you shouldn't be having to fix their mistakes.

Now this is what I worry about! Samsung needs to do better than this! It's bad enough that we dont get OTA updates in time and to then mess up my phone while giving me an already late update is so not good. Hopefully some day, we will see a change ?. I will surely know to back up all my data before any updates.. for whenever it comes....
