Nav bar - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to shorten the height of the nav bar? I'm rooted of course running stock 5.1. Thanks in advance for any help

You can use a custom ROM with this feature. Otherwise you'll need to hard code change it (which you can find a guide on how to do so online).

[Q] Removing the notification toggles?

I want to learn how to remove the notification toggles for my own personal use. Does anyone have tips or knowledge on how to do this?
I know that it is possible; an older incarnation of Ultimate ROM for the i9000 had it, but I've asked the developer, who doesn't recall how to do it.
My phone also doesn't like MTD, so CM7 is out of the question. Plus, I've been on GB bootloaders for a while, and don't want to flash those again.
Thanks.
There you go. This is Apex 9.2 systemUI modded to hide toggles in quick panel. This keeps all other notification bar mods intact for you.
Add it to system/app using root explorer and reboot.

[Q] Which ROM can do this?

Which ROM can I make notifications bar transparent? Or, what ROM is in general easiest to customize?

Try nik's rom or rcmix 4.0
if you want customization, you can't beat miui. bar none, the most customizeable rom i've tried (i.e. very easy to create custom themes) but most roms are customizeable, to a point. are you looking for sense or aosp? you need to specify which and you also need to specify what type of customization you are looking to perform.
ps yes, you can make the statusbar transparent with miui. just flash extended settings.
edit: the new ics miui already has extended settings built in

I've just installed MIUI, and found the danish translation that i needed in .XML - But I can't seem to flash them.. And can't find any answer on google
afaik MIUI roms make the status bar transparent.
else ADW under Cyanogenmod can hide the status bar

If you have already rooted, you can use Xposed framework to make that change. Just follow the link below, and install the gravitybox module, which has the navigation bar sizing.

[Q] Transparent notification pulldown and app drawer

I just updated to 4.4.2 on stock OS and noticed that this didn't change as I expected it to. Is there a setting that I need to activate for this?

Sorry to tell you this- The app drawer wasn't meant to be transparent. The pull down bar is transparent in most apps. A few don't have the API i guess.
Solution: Install a Sense-based custom ROM. U have the option of making both of them fully transparent, the way you actually wanted it to.
