Hi there,
I'm running Android 4.2.2 and have the following issue, which I just noticed yesterday.
I am able to download Xposed Framework modules, but can't install them: I hit the "install" button within the module page, but then, when I am to select between "install" and "cancel" (i.e. in the permission page), I find that the "install" soft button is not enabled, while "cancel" button is.
So far, for some modules, I've been able to sidestep this by going through the Play Store, but I'm not sure all the modules are in there.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
this happened for me when a screen filter app was enabled. Do you use one?

So just for reference you're saying apps like Twilight, Bluelight Filter, CF.Lumen, and others can cause bootloops with xposed?
I'm using Screen Filter, that isn't a xposed module. I'm saying that problem you have with "install" button is because of apps like Screen Filter, they don't allow you to install apps manually.
Sorry bad english

This is an old problem, but the causes are so plenty it's a doozy. So here's yet ANOTHER cause of "can't click (Install)" button and its solution.
Any way, just updated to SlimKat. And no, I did NOT have official JB installed before, just official ICS, Safestrap, and had been running on CM10 ever since. But that's not the important issue.
Tried to reinstall some APKs, like Amazon store, some Xposed modules... Except none of them will let me click the INSTALL. And yes, 3rd party apps install is active, and I even turned off verify apps.
All of the previous advice I can find says look for screen filter or brightness apps or overlay buttons. I checked. Ain't got any that's active.
I was using PermissionDog to check anything that uses an overlay and uninstall them one by one, when something hit me (not literally). All of these are overlays of some sort. What overlay did I add recently? Then I looked at my screen, then slapped my forehead... hard.
I had enabled "battery bar" that comes with BatteryMix. This optional bar shows you a horizontal 2 px high bar on the very top that shows you your battery level. That is an overlay!
I turned that off, and voila, I can install APKs again. So let that be a lesson to you.
MOD EDIT: Thread closed as this is the wrong section for module requests/questions. Please read these guidelines for more info.
Can we have another module feature for app mutiwindow. However, this time, after selecting the "always"or "only once" pop up screen, id like to have a select a multi-window app? For example, im in official fb app, and I click a url. Then, a pop up comes up, sqare box, with apps to open with. Next, select an app. Now here goes my idea, after app choice selected;a new window appears. Now, in this window, it will ask "use multi-window." Lastly, click yes or no.
Thanks in advances.

Read up on rooting with towelroot and installing xposed framework.
Either the wanum or gravitybox module allowed me to remap to the old behavior.
I have already done that with the exception of using kingo root and searched for a mod
Maybe was using wrong keywords

So you got xposed and gravitybox installed ok?
It is in gravity box.
Navigation key actions/recents key/single tap action/...change to show menu.
Gravitybox and wanum xposed have tons of cool tweaks, some don't work on the s5
When I switched the behavior I realised that I have already got used to single tapping for recent apps, now I have to relearn. I'd like to be able to reduce the time a long press takes now.

I don't know what's different for you.
The only thoughts I have are, make sure the module is checked in xposed framework and that you reboot after you have backed out of gravity box's settings.
I also don't know where you found 'settings'
I'm including a screenshot of my gravity box setting.

I set it to launch custom app and set the app to be settings app
Xposed additions is another module specifically for button behavior you might try.

Tried it that way all I got was this
Was wanting more like on my note 3
But in the end I used that menu to access settings any way so it worked out
Rooted running Euphoria, for every settings option that's asks if I'm sure ( asked to press "OK" or "cancel" ) after I turn it on, I'm unable to chose OK. I keep pressing it but the only option that works is "cancel". All of the option in accessibility or whenever something needs SU permission. Also none of SU logs are showing up, almost like SU isn't running at all?
Any ideas?

Are you running an app that does things to your screen? Like one that controls brightness, pixels, colors, resolution, or whatever else.

It's protection built into both android and the SuperSU application. If an application puts an overlay over the interface, Android and the superSU app will prevent buttons like that being pressed, so an app cannot use an overlay to automate hijacking. Apps like Lux or other things that change the screen colour, brightness etc will create a layer in such a way. As for SuperSU, you can turn this protection off in settings, but for accessibility settings etc, you'll need to temporarily turn off those apps creating the overlay.
Thanks, I bevel thought LUX would do that

I don't really wan't a custom rom, but do have Magisk and TWRP. It's the last thing I don't like about this phone (just came from the Pixel 2 XL).
Try this:
In Developer Options, search for Absolute Volume, then turn it off.
I found "Disable Absolute Volume" and tried it. Still when the phone turns back on the pop up is there the moment I turn up the volume.
Yeah It seems that is not a permanent solution... You could try to automate it with tasker and autoinput, but i dont think is worth the effort...
Yeah I agree, Thanks for the info.
samfix from xda labs used to cope with it but no update since pie..
Yeah, I tried it and no go on pie. Its a really small thing, just the last thing that bugs me.
i would add the mess with dolby atmos. I think it turns off randomly.

Well, if money is not the problem, you can do it with Tasker and AutoTools and it works just fine. I don't have root. Set it up once and forget it:
Just google "disable-safe-volume-warning-no-root-required" (geez, you can't even share a link to tutorial)
I haven't found easier solution for non-root. Sorry if OP looks for something root-only...
It is available in Stock ROM, no root required.
Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume
Tap the three vertical dots in the top right,
Select "Media Volume Limiter" (It's the only option on my phone')
(Now here comes the counter-intuitive part)
Turn it on.
Set the "Custom Volume Limit" all the way to the right.

is it possible that after a reboot the setting resets?
if so, there are modules like gravity box for edxposed that can change it for good. maybe others too.

Wherever limit you set (in the case, full volume) persists.
I have just rebooted my phone and the limiter is still on, and set to full.

ok then they must have changed it in pie since i remember users complaining of it being reset after each reboot( probably an oreo issue)

That STILL gives you the warning once after every reboot.
BUT! If you use systemui tuner you can actually, permanently, disable it. Seems to be the only way without root.
@Delano.888 Yeah, just had that experience at the very moment that you posted that.
Thanks for the pointer to SystemUI Tuner.
i knew i wasn't crazy....
Does anyone know how to get rid of this with Tasker? The old method no longer works, and I am afraid I am going to wreck my car trying to click the ok on the screen when I need the volume up. Please help! I've literally tried everything from granting securetask device ownership rights etc... I can even watch the setting change on my Note 9 without affecting the warning whatsoever. Any ideas??? Also, what exactly does deprecated mean?
Yes there is. I have done it multiple times. You will need a PC and Magisk Manager though. Tried it worked on Android 10 too.
The solution is with Smali Patcher. It makes Magisk module for individual phones via PC when being connected to the phone in ADB mode.
Google it. You will find the xda link.

That issue has been fixed in subsequent FW updates.
Is this a package that can be disable from adb?
