[Q] Xperia Z C6603 Bootloader Locked .. Help - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys,
I've a Sony Xperia Z C6603 with locked boot-loader. I'm an IT technician and I've done my best since today morning like 9 Am but no joy.
I've downloaded and installed Emma flashtool and it said ( This phone is locked ) and i've downloaded flashtool for xperia and again said ( this phone can't be unlocked officially )
I've opened the service menu and system info > configuration and is written NO infront of unlock bootloader ......
Does it mean that no hope or what ???
The whole story is that my phone is boiling and really overheating when is being used or even recharging without using. and i came to know that's because 4.4.2 so I wanted to install 4.4.4 or any custom ROM and to get rid of that bloody 4.4.2
Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks for everyone

I want to add that I've managed to change the battery like 10 days ago thought that it was the mean cause for the heat but nothing been changed.

waiting any kind user or moderator for any kind help ... thnx

You can't onlock your bootloader. But you can use any stock based firmware.

fair enough ... thank you for that and will sell it and will get any other phone boot-loader unlock-able
thanks again

[Q] Some questions regarding unlocking and gaining root

Good day fellow Xperia users!
After using the Xperia Play for a while I switched to the Xperia Z today.
On my Xperia Play I have a unlocked bootloader and use Doomkernel with the stock rom. (And love it!)
I would like to unlock the bootloader of this phone aswell, however a few questions remain.
Phone info: C6603 - v 4.1.2 - 10.1.A.1350
- My model is: C6603.
Could not find a topic about rooting this model, could anyone link me to the correct topic?
(Scared to flash the wrong stuff, to the wrong model.)
(Service menu does say it can be unlocked.)
(I guess the right topic would be: [ROOT] Xperia Z (C660x) for unlocked bootloaders ONLY! (RELEASED) but please ensure me.)
- Can anyone link me to the correct files needed to unlock the bootloader?
(As in, can someone link me to the set of files that contains everything needed for this?)
(I know there is a set for Xperia Play, however Iam not sure or they would work.)
- Should I insert a SIM card when unlocking the bootloader?
- Should I wait for my phone to load to 100% battery?
Iam sorry if the questions above have been explained before, Iam sure they are.
However you would really help me answering these questions, I would be really thank full.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Thanks for the link gm007.
However some questions still remain:
- Should I insert a SIM card when unlocking the bootloader?
- Should I wait for my phone to load to 100% battery?
Anyone?
Kind regards, Stefan.
You can keep the sim inserted no problem.
Always Charge the phone to 100% before flashing anything, maybe something goes wrong.

help information needed**

hi, new to the forum and android for that matter was looking for some advice and information i have just renewed my contact the the carrier threeuk and took the sony xperia z (great phone) , i was reading about customs roms and all the other great stuff on this forum but i have a few questions :
when try to unlock the bootloader mine says "no" which is im guessing down to 3 uk blocking this so if i flashed and debranded the xz would that enable me to have "yes" in the service settings or do i have to contact 3 and somehow hope they would allow me to do this and if not and i still cant unlock my bootloader would there be any sort of hack or something in the future that might enable this to happen
thanks in advance for any feedback

AFAIK, if your device says "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO", there's no way to unlock it.
There are roms that work with BL locked also, if you're interested.
The only reason (For now) to unlock BL would be CM or Custom kernel.

In order to install 4.2.2, you need a CM based rom, so you'll need an unlocked bootloader.
The first thing you need to do is check if your bootloader is unlockable, so take a look at this thread.
After that, you need root and CWM (Locked BL, Unlocked BL).
Then, you need to find the rom you want (CM, PAC, AOKP (Kanged), among others). You can find more under development or original development sections. (These roms will work ONLY IF YOU HAVE UNLOCKED YOUR BL).
If you can't unlock your bl, you can also install Sony based roms, such as KA, RomAur, among others.

[Q] What should go first?

Hi!
I'm new to Sony Xperia Z.. Just updated it to 10.4.1.B.0.101 and now I'm confuse on what should I do first. Of course I choose android because of the customization but before that I have things to deal first. As a start, What should go first? Should I root the phone first or should I unlock the bootloader first? I'm trying to answer the question on my own but reading threads only leads me to nowhere kinda new to Sony Phones that's why..
Thanks in advance for who will response! Have a nice day everyone!

you only need to unlock the bootloader if you wish to use a custom rom/kernel
get xposed framework and gravitybox and gem modules and you can then start playing about and customising the look more

I see, so root alone will be just fine eh since some rom don't need unlock bootloader. I only want a stable debloated stock ROM at the moment to lessen the stress on my phone because it overheats a lot.. the bummer is I already updated to 4.3 which is not yet exploited. and what makes it worse is that I can't revert it by time being because my ISP is having issues and I can't download big files atm. so the time being there is nothing I can do but wait. grrr I got excited with the update why the hell did I do that. lol. guess no helping it.
Hoping someone will do the exploit for the .101 soon.
Thanks for the response mate.

[Q] Quick Question ..

Hey XDA !!
Maybe this question is thrown around a lot , but here it goes anyways . I have pre-ordered a Nexus6 (64GB,blue) and am expecting it to arrive by the end of this week. Is it advisable/necessary to root the device ? I mean most of the nexus owners here have already rooted their phones ( judging by the signatures ) . I currently own a Xperia Arc S (LT18i) which i had rooted due to performance issues (cm9) but i wasnt very happy with it considering I lost the bravia settings. So do I really need a rooted phone ? And also what is the difference between unlocked bootloader and rooted device.
These are pretty basic questions and if there is a thread for any of this please post a link here in the comments . Pretty new to all this.
Thanks

here a pretty basic answer.. if you NEED root, then yes, its advisable. if you dont need root, why would you root? the only thing that can be done with root is changing out system files and running apps that need root. it wont do anything else for you.
if you want to flash roms or other things, you dont need root either. but you would need to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery. you dont need root to flash roms or kernels, you only need root to change system files and run apps that need root.
what differences/advantages one gets after rooting , considering nexus already has stock android .

again, the difference is that with root you can change system files and run root oriented apps. root itself does not change anything except add in the superuser binaries.

You can always Google the terms or watch some videos on YouTube etc. it comes down to personal preference and your goals/intentions with your device.
