[Q] Application Icons in Menus removed after reboot - SOLVED - Xposed General

Dear All,
Xposed and GravityBox module are working fine, but unfortunatly, I see one stange behavior:
When rebooting, all icons I've created from the Apps list towards the main menu pages are not saved and disapears after every reboot. I need then to again make the application links from the Apps list to the main phone menus... until next reboot.
This is not the case with default (ROM) applications (like emails, SMS, etc) which remains after the reboot.
Only the new links/icons I created are gone after reboot.
How could I fix this?
I do have a phone with Android 4.2.2, Kernel 3.4.5 ([email protected] #1 Tue Jan 13 16.55:43 CSST 2015 / Build number ALPS.JB3.MP.V1
I'm using Xposed 2.6.1 (libraries used StickyListHeaders & libsuperuser) and last stable version of GravityBox[JB] 3.5.6
Thanks in advance,
Jean-Frederic

Anyone ?
Anyone, any idea?
Thanks,
Jean-Frederic

[SOLVED]
Ok, I found the issue on the web.
Seems to be a geeric Android issue.
The only ways seems to be to solve this is to move applications from SD Card to internal memory OR install another Launcher like NOVA Launcher or GO Launcher from Google Play Store.
Root cause seems that the default launcher is too fast compare to SD Card. Therefore the SD Card is not mounted when the launcher is biulding the Home screen... then do not fnid the icons on the card (not yet mounted)
Hope this help,
Jean-Frederic

[Q] Help: My phone displays the default icon and the package name of the application

Hello,
Since few days, I have noticed an issue on my phone. For some apps, it can't display the app name but the package name of the app (for example, instead of "Slot Machine", I have "com.apostek.SlotMachine") and it displays only the default android icon (http://cdn2.droidmill.com/media/market-media/hk.com.twonil.android_icon.png).
This bug appears on every apps which displays apps (Apps orginizer, Launcher Pro,... and even in the list of applications in the settings of my my phone... )
Do you have any idea ?
Is it an app that corrupts the display of the true icon apps ?
Is it a problem of the cache ?
PS: I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with Android 2.2 (JPA), Rooted with stock ROM
I managed to solve the problem by reinstalling the apps and to restore them with Titanium Backup.
But I still don't know how it happened...
Your SD card had corrupted and reformatted.
Thus you lost all apps installed on the SD card but the phone memory kept the registration entry.

[Q] problem about [Android Revolution HD5.3]

rom thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088498
Android Revolution HD 5.3 is a really good rom. It makes my Incredible S works smoother than any other rom I tryed.
I updated it from 5.2 to 5.3. First time,I didn't wipe personal data because I tought it's not necessary since it's just another version of same rom.
It worked normally power on,whatever when next time I rebooted the phone I lost my custom ringtone which was reseted to [Default ringtone(204)].
Then I checked the ringtone/notification/alarm list.It is nothing but blanck.I can't set any other ringtones include system default and other custom ones synced through google account.
Then I checked the default music player and default gallary. It show me nothing but [No music found] and [No photos or videos found].
Moreover! I couldn't take any photo through default camera.
I also couldn't choose any picture to share when the app launch photos through default gallary, like LINE.
However,I could launch the media through ES File Explorer or undefault music player.
I tryed to handle the problem. I full wiped the whole data and reinstall [Android Revolution HD 5.3] in recovery.
However, the problem apears again and again when I reboot.
Is there anybody facing the same problem like me? Or possibly there are someone know how to solve it?
By the way, firefox android crash every times I launch it when this problem occur, but it can be solved by clearing firefox's data.
fix promissions in recovery ----> tools
If i helpd u Pls give me Thanks

Modules Randomly Stopped Working

Hi,
Just got back to my desk after lunch to find my Nexus 5 looking very "normal"
Google search bar is back
Homescreen dots are back
I have huge icons again (despite build.prop changed to 360)
Hidden apps have reappeared
Wallpaper scrolls again
etc, etc
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the framework, wiped cache and dalvik from recovery and also tried downloadind the modules I use again (mainly GravityBox, XGEL settings and Hide Apps), but no luck.
It's been weeks since I've changed anything on my phone (since 23/04 Purity build), so I can only conclude it has something to do with Xposed or one of the modules.
Any idea what the problem might be before I resort to Nandoird or reflashing the ROM?
Xposed log file attached.
Cheers
Lee
EDIT: Reflashing ROM hasn't helped
SUCCESS!
Turned out that the latest Google Search update had killed XGEL Settings.
So you can either get XGEL 1.6 Beta Build 2, or roll back Google Search to factory version.
I just rolled back Search for now as I still need to check if any other modules are affected (Hide Apps Xposed for example).
Hope this saves someone a headache!

[Q] CM 11 wallpaper keeps disappearing on my Nook HD

I am running 11-20140803-Nightly-hummingbird & wallpaper disappears after going from Portrait to landscape mode & the only way to setup the wallpaper I have to reboot.
Every once in awhile I will get a System UI stopped message too.
After the wallpaper disappears system seems to really lag.
I figured maybe my system was getting all junked up due to so many updates I have done since 10.1 days, so I did a system reset with CWM & figured I would start over.
After installing the nightly mentioned above & gapps rebooted & noticed all the folders were still there from before, do these not get wiped when doing a system reset?
Any suggestions on what to do with the issue I am having & how do you completely wipe the system to start over?
This is getting a bit frustrating.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thank you
You don't really want to completely wipe everything - do not wipe emmc internal storage. Only data, dalvic, cache is necessary.
Don't know what folders your referring to. Folders on internal storage will stay. Any other folders in the rom sections that were wiped will be repopulated upon flashing a rom.
The wallpaper issue sounds like a bug in cm. Try the m9 build. I use m9 and have not seen that problem, not with m9 and not with m8.
I have no idea what you install on it, but it could also be an app your installing that is breaking things.
Anytime you want to start fresh do a full recovery backup in the recovery so you can go right back to exactly how you had it if a new rom install doesn't fix your problem instead of wasting time.
Problem solved
It appears it was due to newest beta of Apex Pro that I was using. I installed one of my backups of Apex through Titanium Pro just to see if that was the issue & by golly I think it was.
Seemed like every time I would rotate my screen the wallpaper went Poof!
Solution for wallpaper issue
Especially this problem is found in cm11 snapshot M9 M10etc. But M11 has no issues. I am using m11 since its realse and absulotely no wallpaper issue has been encountered. If you are using 3 party launcher to set wallpaper the it is my request to use default system wallpaper tool to change wallpaper. And thats it.

[Xperia V LT25i] How to update old System Apps?

Hey guys,
First of all thank you for your hard work and for keeping my device relevant and alive.
I am currently running CM13 Snapshot from December 2016. It works smooth, no critical or significant issues at all. What I am currently trying to do is to Update my system apps (i.e. my Phone dialer, Gallery, Clock, Messages apps). I can't seem to get a grip of how to do so. What I tried doing is:
1. Downloading the latest update of the apps from apkmirror
2. Deleting the old system apps using ES File Explorer (Root explorer being enabled)
3. Copying the downloaded apks to system/app/ folder.
4. Rebooting my device.
I did set the new apps as default apps for Messaging and Calling. They do have all the permissions; however, these fail to work.
My updated phone app does not handle calls. Basically, when I get an incoming call, my phone reboots. It does have all the permissions it requires and it is also set as the default app for calling.
When it comes to SMS's, the updated messaging app does not display notifications (i.e. no sound, no LED, no vibration), so periodically I have to get my phone out of the Screen Timeout and unlock it to get the notification of a new message received. It does have "notifications" enabled in the settings and it also has all the permissions it requires.
Would you be so kind to give me a heads up of how can one update system apps without them crashing and failing to do their job?
Thank you!
