Hello!
I bought an HTC 8XT that supposedly had a clean MEID, but it turns out it didn't.
Before I try to get a refund, I was wondering if it is possible to change the MEID of a Windows Phone in CDMA Workshop (which I have on my computer)
I would really appreciate any help!! Thank you!!
Changing the MEID is illegal in most countries.
Good luck getting a refund on what was most likely a stolen phone.

Hi,
I lost my g1 while snowboarding and I am devastated. I can't afford 400 or so dollar for a new one so my friend said he would help me out by cashing in on his warranty. However, he told me that if he were to call in and replace his g1 and they would deactivate the imei number so his phone wouldn't work on the network anymore (well he is giving me the new one).
Is there a way around this and how would we reactivate the imei number. Please help...

Hi,
i bought one used d3 but currently it is locked and all the lock codes are failing. so i have tried entering the MEID of the phone verizon activation site and its asking to contact customer care.
i have tried calling the customer care but they said that they cant really check the status of the phone (stolen / unpaid account) unless i am a customer but i am from Germany and don't have an account
I am suspicious that this might be the case as all codes are failing to unlock.
Can any one help me find if this phone has a bad history and i need to report to the seller?
Thanks in advance

no one wants to help me with this? strange
You cant tell. The seller could say it was simply given from a friend or purchased.

Bought an Htc One off craigslist. Guy said he tried flashing it to work on boost mobile didn't work so he was selling it. Took it to sprint to activate, employee tells me since it was flashed the esn had to be recertified and could take up 24 hours. Was messing with the phone later that night and tried to make a call and it went to Verizon customer service. I believe this phone is an Htc One for sprint but don't have a definitive way of checking. Also not sure what steps I need to take to get it back on sprints network. Any help would be appreciated.
Boot into the bootloader and there should be a barcode option or something.. the esn stuff is there..

all Verizon htc one's have a laser engrave on the back that says Verizon. really obvious, so if it's not there, it's not verizon
I got the Sprint HTC One M8 (HK) with the intent on bringing it over to Ting which accepts Sprint devices. Issue is, the One is carrier locked via the IMEI until April, one year after the release date. So that was a bust. In the meantime I have a Fascinate with Verizon, that I can use as a donor phone for all its info. Thing I am having issues with is understanding what else needs to be changed to use the phone with Verizon. I read something about the radios need to be flashed and then while I can find the IMEI and MEID, and I can use fastboot to write my own, I cannot find anything for ESN or the MIN(MSIN). That plus the activation number, I assume will dial to Sprint not Verizon, so I'm trying to figure out what else this would entail. I will back up everything, since once April comes around, i'll switch to Ting, but until then, I'd like to enjoy my new toy.
I think XDA have a rule about giving you information about this... This is the same as bad ESN and changed it to make it work again and that is fraud..

I have had my HTC One M7 for just about 2 years now, and my contract with AT&T has ended. Since my contract has ended, I went on the AT&T website and sent in an unlock request for my phone. I entered in all my info, including the IMEI number. The next day, I received an email from AT&T saying that they couldn't unlock my phone because the IMEI # wasn't recognized as an AT&T device. Now, I'm not sure specifically how my IMEI was changed but it was probably from flashing a bunch of custom roms and kernels. I still have the original IMEI # from AT&T on the sticker on the back of my phone. What can I do now the fix my IMEI back to what it originally was so I can get my phone unlocked? Any help would be appreciated.

The IMEI# doesn't change when flashing roms/kernel.
You can use online services to get an unlock code for your IMEI if at&t can't give you one.
If you have S-OFF you can sim-unlock yourself using the SIEEMPI method.
And you will not receive help to change your IMEI here since its illegal to alter phones identification (IMEI, MEID, S/N) in many countries. THis could explain why your IMEI isn't the same...
Are you sure your IMEI is not the original one, the one on the sticker? Maybe your phone got repaired, like a motherboard replacement?
