GCI Alaska Note 4 SM-N901t - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey I'm looking to see if there are any alaskans in here.
I am looking for the stock firmware for the note 4 from GCI. They use the t mobile model so that is why I am posting in here.
Also a general alaskan note 4 thread. Thank you!

Do you know what the build number is?
What build are you on now?

Some complications came up and I do not have a GCI android build. I could easily go find it out by stopping in a store.
I have a custom rom. I would like to try and get it back to stock. Only because of the network settings and a few other things.

What does your phone sat here (see screen shot) in the about phone section under settings.

I will have to get that to you in about an hour or two. If I remember correctly there was a 7 or two toward the end. I will get it to you soon.
Thank you for your interest!

Here is my SM-N901T Note 4 for GCI in Alaska.
If someone also knows how to get "LTE/WCDMA/GSM" network mode enabled in cyanogenmod 12.1 that would be epic too!

So right now you are on NK4 which is kitkat. There is a thread here for COD6 which is the lollipop baseband. You can just update it to that.
No need to worry about the carrier it's a pure Tmobile Note 4.

Will this rom give me the LTE/WCDMA/GSM network mode option do you know by chance?

COD6 I'd the stock Samsung software for your device it should function normally with it.
In fact you may be able to pull the update OTA. See screen shot below.
If not you need to ODIN flash the stock COD6 software so you can get the newest modem/bootloader before you try any custom ROMs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2903733

New way to install International/T-Mobile 4.4.2 - help needed

Ok guys. I have come up with a method to install 4.4.2 international and T-Mobile ROMs without ADB.
I am using some stuff from @drakeymcmb and @Hashcode
I however need some help.
I will not be doing a tutorial yet because this is not complete.
I used EchoeROM from the International section. It boots and runs fine for the most part.
Bugs I can't figure out how to fix but have ideas for based on fixes from the AT&T S4.
Wi-Fi will not turn on. (I will need @Hashcode to help with that.)
Using the ATT PTA apns works, but is shoddy with LTE.
I ran into one random reboot when opening messaging. Didn't happen after it booted up again.
If you guys could give me a hand. I and the community would love you.
THIS IS NOT AND MAY NEVER BE A FINAL METHOD. DO NOT ASK FOR ETA's. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THIS IS ONLY A PROOF OF CONCEPT.
Reserved for screen shots showing proof.

Thanks.
It involves a combo of Odin and safe strap. Basically the exact process for XRom and Knoxraid. I have not seen any posts or topics about it.so I am fairly confident that we can work together to get more ROMs on our device.

After doing some research. We may also be able to flash Aroma Kit kat Roms. I am getting very excited. Right now I am downloading ROM files on my phone so I will be doing some testing tonight and the rest of this weekend .

OK guys. Waking up first then gathering all the files/links together for this install method for my one and only tester. I need more testers though. If you are willing to put this install method to the test, please PM me.
This is a warning. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE. If you choose to be a tester, that is all on you. Make sure you have a full backup of both your internal and external SD cards somewhere on your computer. I again am not responsible if you lose important data. Make sure that you do this now while I prepare to put this out for testers and testers only.
Right now, you should also download an International 4.4.2 ROM that does not use Aroma for install. I used the EchoeRom for my test.
I would like anyone that wants to test for me to be ready so that we can speed up this process.

Files are almost ready for distro. I ran into a problem while testing so I need to extract some stuff from KnoxRaid and build a flashable zip file to be used in SS and package it with the files I will have the testers download. I also realized that you will wipe the internal SD card so MAKE A BACKUP. Any files to be flashed via Safestrap need to be on the External SD.

I just cannot get Wifi or NFC to turn on... I have tried building an update package to flash with SS, but it doesn't help... I am going to try a few more things and test some more. I know you guys want this, but I want it working on my end before I start sending it out.
Did you get it to work?
I can only get the ROM to boot...
NFC and wifi will not turn on. I have tried multiple different routes to get them functional, but to no avail. I'm gonna take a break for a bit. Clear my mind and try again. I need a package to fix those and to help save time with setup a package to flash the correct LTE APNs to the phone so users don't have to input them manually.

try to relfash modem from leaked 4.4.2... for wifi fix....
Tried that. I believe it is the system files. I tried pulling them from KnoxRaid and flashing them. I may just be making bad packages...

Roma?

OK I have the note 3 N900A, I have it rooted and twrp on it, what roms am I able to use? I have tried a few not 3 roms that are not specifically for the N900A but for different version and they boot up but just goes to a black screen.. The lights and sounds work but not the screen. So do I have to use N900A roms only or is there a certain way to get the other roms working?..

1. The 900A At&t Note 3 has its own threads for a reason.
2. Take a moment to research before doing something foolish. You'll end up with a very expensive brick. ..

The specific forum for the att note 3 in the devopment section. Any ROM in there will work for your phone. HOWEVER- please do some reading first related to what version and build number you are running. The precautions taken by Samsung and att to lock the phone down require specific steps to be taken based on what stock ROM you currently are using. All the info you need is in the att note 3 forum somewhere. Happy reading.

@J0386, it really depends on what you are looking for with a custom ROM. I am assuming by TWRP you mean safestrap.
I have tried several ROMs, including Dynamic, Dynamic Xtreme, FireKat and FireRom. I prefer a stock ROM, as close to AOSP as possible, with little to no bloatware. As such, I landed on Dynamic Kat Xtreme, which unfortunately is no longer supported. Dynamic Kat is a great ROM with fantastic customization, and FireKat is about as strong a ROM as you can get for an optimized experience, but it is heavy on the app side. So, what kind of ROM are you looking for?
I have been trying a few aokp roms but neither of the ones I tried would boot, they flashed fine but when they loaded the screen wouldn't Come on but then lights and sounds worked..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Did you flash to the stock slot or to one of the others? Most of these only work when you flash to the stock slot. Also, some take several minutes to boot. I'm currently running Dynamic Kat Xtreme 1.0 with a few modifications and loving it!

Stock rom

I need a working real link to the stock non rooted rom for the att note 3 ASAP.. Can't seem to find it anywhere

This should be what you need to get the current Lollipop OC1 rom installed on the AT&T N900a Galaxy Note 3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3069609
You will have to use Odin to install.
If you look in the "general" section of this forum, there are also Odin files for Kitkat nc2.
Good luck.
Worked like a charm! Thanks for the info

Help updating my Note 4

I have an unlocked tmobile note 4, tmobile is terrible in my area so I had them unlock it and went to at&t.
But now I cannot get lollipop.
I read online I can get a capture file put it on my SD and bam.
But I cannot find this file.. I can find it all day for at&t but not tmobile.
Before you start with the flashing and Roms and odin.. no.
No computer.
I have an inactive tmobile card, I put it in the phone but it says no updates so I assume it has to be active to pull the update.
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks
Go to sammobile download the update and flash via odin

That's the first thread I found on point. There's one here, but I'm tired.
Never heard of a capture file. ask in the place u found the att one
Use this instead of Odin should work from your phone.

Requires root though. If you don't have root and/or custom recovery I don't think there is a way to do it without a pc. Right now the only way to root is on pc. I think

Latest method to unroot?

Does anyone know what's the latest and simplest method to unroot the device so OTA updates can be downloaded? If odining back to stock firmware can be avoided that'd be great. I'm trying to get rid of some annoying issues on my current build. Thanks.

I gave in and flashed the original os. The device runs significantly better. It seems the themes from Samsung slowed down my phone and caused a lot of issues with the dialer app.

Need really bad to unroot restore stock G925AUCU2AOF4, using Odin. My Galaxy Edge has Null for IMEI, servicemode is blank no commands, and no broadband version so no Sim will work. if not posted yet anyone know about when it will be available here as this is most trustworthy site? Also i hear it is not wise, possible to flash with a previous version than my current phone which is G925AUCU2AOF4 - i hope i and others don't have to wait too long.
