I uninstalled some apps trough the Titanium Backup (Downloads Manager, Downloads, E-mail, Google Chrome and Talkback). Luckily I had a backup of it, I restored it and restarted the phone. After it, every time I open the gallery or the Play Store the warning "android.process.media has stopped" pops up... actually, it pops up all the time, I barely can use my phone. Can someone help me?
My device is the Moto X 2014 (LXE22.46-17). It is rooted but I didn't install any custom ROM.

Hey long time lurker, so heres the rundown.
I just updated my N1 from Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1 to 7.1 Final by doing a fresh install and wiping 'errthing and then restoring using Titanium Backup. However I keep getting a popup that says "Google Talk authentication failed" that won't go away and does not allow me to use the Google Market.
I tried to go into the "talk" app via my app drawer but it just ends up hanging on the sign in. Normally I don't ever use Google Talk or Google Voice but I tried setting up my Voice account to counteract this but still nothing helped.
Should I restore to 7.1 RC1 and just update (without wiping anything) and see how that turns out or can I somehow patch it up?
Thanks!
I would try deleting data from Talk, Gmail, Market, and Google Services Framework first...
Perhaps even fix permissions from within ROM Manager...
I actually ended up re-installing the ROM from scratch and instead of linking it to my Google account right away I simply restored all my apps +data (didn't restore data on Google apps) and rebooted.
After that I added my Google account to the phone and everything just worked.
Thanks for the advice though, that's probably what I could have done and not needed to re-instal.
Just encountered this problem and fixed it by using Titanium Backup (I use pro edition) as follows:
1)Open TB and hit the menu button
2) click the Market tools button
3) select Market Doctor
4) select user and system apps
let it run through and market works again and no more google talk error messages.
Didn't have to wipe/reset anything!
Gotta love TB!
Samsung Captivate SGH-I897
Rooted with Odin
Android Version 2.3.7
Flashed Cyanogen 7.1.0
Kernel Version 2.6.35.12
gapps 2011 0828
After flashing ROM and installing google apps, I get "Server error, Retry" message when trying to connect to Android Market. Doesn't matter if I try connecting using 3g or wifi. When I connect to the Market using my computer, I see all my apps listed as "installed". When I choose to install a new app from the Market using my computer, it shows that it's being sent to my phone, but my phone never gets it. Anybody know what's going on?
Nothing Google is working. Typing a search in the google search box forces web browser to close. Reset phone and entered info for google account, but I get the same error message.
Try this:
Go to Settings>Application>Manage Apps>All
Then scroll down and look for the Market app. Press the app, force stop, then clear data. Do a normal reboot just to make sure. Then see if that fixed it.

Yeah, tried that a couple times. Did it again, just for fun, with same result. Am I using the wrong google apps pack? I'll try a couple different ones. Really want google to recognize my phone again. Currently, no syncing of gmail, calendar, contacts, app updates, etc.
ok. Quick update. Found info on Cyanogen forum that recommended Re-flashing Cyanogen 7.1.0 and re-installing google apps pak. After I did this, my phone asked me to sign in to google accounts, and immediately started downloading all my Market apps. I was excited until, my status bar said "error downloading xxxx" for each and every app it tried to restore. After the 47th app, it finally stopped and gave the error message: "The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
As it turns out, about 1/3 of my apps were restored properly. Not sure what to do about the rest.
Ah I'm sorry about that. I had the same problem before and all I did was clear data to fix it.
(For future reference, use titanium backup, downloadable from the market, to backup&restore your apps before flashing a new ROM. Make a copy of the Titanium Backup folder from your SD card and store it on your PC. That way, if you accidentally formatted your SD card, you'll always have a copy of the folder to restore your apps.)

Thanks. I did make a Titanium backup, but needed to install Titanium from the market in order to restore it. As it turns out, after rebooting the phone, the market app is working now, so I just decided to restore the apps I want manually. Currently, I am using my computer to look at my library of apps on the market, and clicking install to restore only the ones I really want. It's nice to see that all the ATT bloatware is available if needed, but it's not being forced on me.
Glad things worked out for you, eventually. Yes, that's a nice feature from AT&T. I don't like their apps it just takes up space. But if I need to sell my phone as stock its nice to have the AT&T apps back

I have a standard Sony ROM 4.1.2, only rooted. Recently I lost any possibility to download any file with my mobile. I can launch Google Play, I can browse internet with browser. Actually I can do anything normally, apart from downloading files. I.e. when I start downloading anything from Google store I got stuck in "Downloading" state. No download icon on status bar appears.
What I can do to try to work it around is to reboot the phone. Then, in some seldom cases, this one particular file gets downloaded after reboot. However in most cases, when I check Google Play I see "Waiting for network" information, while network and data transfer is on. Nevertheless it just works this way only for one file after reboot. No other file can be downloaded.
What I can say else is that I get "Unfortunately process.gapps has stopped" and "Google Play has been stopped" on reboot every time. I am not sure if this is related to my problem since I was receiveing this information also before my problems with Dowlona Agent has started.
My Download Agent (stock Sony ver. 4.1.2-Aff_nw) appears on list of normally working apps. Strange thing is that when downloading I Force Stop Download Agent, download icon in status bar appears, but no downloading is started.
What I would like the most is to reinstall current or install a new Download Agent/Manager. I would like really to avoid restoring original mobile software, then rooting and getting all apps downloaded and configured.
I think I found solution myself. I made a copy of Download Agent with Titanium Backup. Then I removed Download Agent and reinstall it - again with Titanium Backup. I reinstall just app, without data. Then reboot of the device and now the downloading works OK.
I've installed lollipop using TWRP and recovering a backup, and everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that now I can't install apps, neither from apks, Google play, can't even update them. When I do from apk it simply says "application not installed" and from Google play it gives an error 504,which you usually fix deleting the apps data and cache, and Google services's too, but that doesn't work.
I was able to do it at first, after I made it 5.0.2,installed all my previous apps, updated the old ones, except Chrome that never allowed me to update it. But now I can't install or update any app. Any idea what could it be?
I thought it may be related to writing permissions but if that was the case I'd have had he problem right from the beginning.
Could it be a problem with the version of Android I installed itself? I mean I could flash apps in, but not install them in the usual ways.
Hey,
TL;DR KINGROOT deleted vital apps and components on Vivo XL, what do I do?
So I wanted to root my Vivo XL so I could delete bloatware.
Used KINGROOT, which worked. It said it didn't work, rebooted my phone and I had root. I used KINGROOT to delete most Google apps plus Opera browser, nothing vital. It actually froze them and I proceeded to delete them with Link2SD.
I reboot my phone and it's slow idk why I'm assuming it's the Chinese KINGROOT doing shady things to my phone. I then reboot my phone several minutes later after doing idk what and I'm greeted with a bug that carefree launcher is experiencing an error.
I freak out a little then use the task switch button, see that I had Play Store open, switch to it and install nova launcher.
All seems good but all of a sudden many apps don't work. Puffin, Gmail, Waze all crash on opening. I look with Link2SD and I realize apps that came with the phone are missing.
I try to switch to Super SU using several methods, none worked and I am not rooted now.
I believe I can root again using KINGROOT. But before I try that again I wanted to ask you folks: what should I do?
Forgot to mention, I cannot install apk files, I cannot uninstall apps, the apps section in settings isn't functioning properly. I can only install and delete through the Play Store
