A lot of these wallpapers are nice, but just because they're 2560x1440, that doesn't necessarily mean they're good quality. In fact, a lot of them look like they were just stretched to fit that resolution... Thanks for the effort though.

Thought I would share one, portrait and landscape. A setting of 5 for the GIF speed works pretty good. Also, I think it is best to remove topbar and vtopbar.

Thanks, I found the original GIF on wikipedia. I resized it and cut out the time stamps as the images are actual photos of the moon. I added links to my original post, which will give you just the image in a window...right click and save. Enjoy.

Hello guys,
Youtube now has real Super HD Videos (4096p) !! Yes its true and if you are on a slow connection it will take hours to buffer even a single minute.
But you don't need to buffer as some screenshots have already been posted here - Check out Super HD video screenshots!
Here is a pic iam posting here from here.

Catch the full story here.
Update: Its 4096p videos not 4000p.
they still look horrible compared to a normal hd movie; they really should have increased the bitrate instead of resolution
They are improving as of late though. I like their leanback feature too. http://www.youtube.com/leanback

Yeah have youtube leanback feature is also awesome : http://www.techit.in/youtube-launched-leanback/
Not sure about having a 25' screen for the 4000p But, googles leanback feature is very cool
Nice ladies galaxys!!
next time you better invite me
It isn't 4000p. The resolution is 4096*2304 at 24fps. Therefore, it is 2304p.
Its like calling 1080p video 1920p.

the logic doesn't apply to this resolution. youtube have come out with the resolution that is not yet properly defined. but it is progressive. if u make a good search, u'll find it's defined in 4096p and not taken the logic of height..
in fact, this resolution is completely different, its not wqhd, wfhd... no it's completely something else..
This resolution is called 4K (meaning you need 4 HDTV, each 1080p to watch this ). The area is 4 times larger as the sides are 2 times larger than full HD.
Personally I think it is BS. First of all you need expensive cameras like RED ONE to record videos. Second you need 4K display which are rare and also expensive. And most importantly the quality because of compression is not great.

My favorite "Cog" branded animation so far. Simple and clean. However, at 14MB, I wonder if the images need optimizing?

Agreed. Looking at your pngs, I'm guessing their in RGB color. 400,000+kb is pretty big for black and white. Convert the color profiles to grayscale and I bet you'd be able to cut the image size in half. Or, since the bootanimation can also be built using .jpegs or .pngs, you could convert them to .jpeg and reduce the quality to medium (or even high) and really reduce the file size without a noticable impact on image quality. Great job btw. Very clean. I like that look on bootanimations.
EDIT: Here is an example.
First image is the original, Part0, Boot_0030.png size: 394 KB
This is optimized. Part0, Boot_0030.jpeg size: 52.7 KB
Smaller size you helps create a smoother presentation, and its just easier to manage.

For my boot animations I first use a photoshop action to convert each image to a quality 3 JPEG. It cuts a 500kb image to around 20-100kb. Then I run it through Image Optimizer and it cuts a third of each image. Then I run it through it again and it cuts around 1% off each image. I have managed to get around a 600 image boot animation to work in under 7mb with no major quality loss.
Sorry I haven't responded, I've been away for a while.
I'll work on reducing the image sizes and update the download link as soon as I get a chance.
My friend, @Xicor Yagami , showed me the leaked photos of the Nexus 7 2nd version a few hours ago and like him, I also liked the wallpaper very much.

Although I do not know whether its a Simple Wallpaper or a Live Wallpaper, I decided to make a simple one and kind of cloned the wallpaper.
I made it in several sizes. So you can download the one matching your device the closest.
1920x1280 px
720x1280 px
720x320 px
640x480 px
240x320 px
Enjoy!
Here's the Photoshop template in case anyone wants to play around with this, make any other sizes, work on this more or whatever you wish, you can do with this.
Download here.
cool idea!
@EatHeat these are fantastic although I expect the shadows on the left and right in the original screenshot are because of the fact the android launcher applies a shadow to the wallpaper rather than a shadow being part of the wallpaper image itself... If that makes any sense whatsoever :silly: anyway I'm just nitpicking, thanks for these
sorry for cutting in like that, just want to share my versions

Added to OP.
Also uploaded the psd file. Check 2nd post.
as specified it should be 1280 x 720 pixels. screen shot taken by the phone is 838 x 471 pixels. chrome works at half of what specified 640 x 360 pixels. can someone explain what is going on? is there some kind of a setting at what resolution app / rom should work? is there a way to change it?

Real resolution is 1280x720
Depends on the application I think but how did you figure out that Chrome works on diffrent resolution?

i'm developing web page with media queries, that's how. and its pretty obvious that its not 1280x720...
is there a way to change it? I've just installed firefox and its the same 640x360.
Seems weird.. But I think that the webpage/application is doing this?

now way it could be possible. to make web page with plane html / css change resolution of the screen...
Well (this may sound stupid!)
A decent small monitor has a resolution of 1280x720.. So when your device sent out the kind of webpage is wants it should not be the 1280x720 one since that one is for computers..
I believe our device requests a diffrent/other/smaller resolution?
@sunnydyz
only use
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
and this @media only screen and (min-width: 480px) and (max-width: 767px) {
Dont use pixels sizes, use Percentage(%) for widths.
Because all phones are based in the same layout, if are MDPI HDPI XHPI.
U can test on firefox using ctrl+shif+m, and use 320x480
Sorry for my english

I think you didn't understood what I was asking. I have a screen witch is capable of showing 720 x 1280 pixels. but the browser (chrome / firefox (from app store)) is operating/working with screen resolution of 360 x 640. I want that the browser take full advantages of what my phone is capable of! but thanks for that ctrl+shif+m in firefox, I didn't know it.
