Difficult time - certification to actual release :crying:

I think that we'll get all the lollipop new apps and theme, like we had it before on kitkat and on jb 4.3 and previously on jb 4.2..
Sony is great when it comes to software updates, little slow, but that's okay !

Think its to do with the location service. If u turn the location service off it will work.
Its certainly a bug but sony isnt exactly known for bug free firmware.

[APP] NEW Stock Home Launcher from SONY [ICS 4.0.4]

Hi All, this is a new version of SONY Stock home launcher. It's quite fluid and smooth with some additional options.
I am not sure of the source yet. But it was posted in Xperia S forum and i am sharing it here. Big thanks and credit goes to carlito-lt26i for sharing this resources.
Only for ICS [Tested on Xperia S running stock ICS 4.0.4]
You can customize home screen numbers. like 1-3-5 etc.
Adding widget and app shortcuts are different and more smooth.
Slightly changed app drawer.
To add widget/app/wallpaper/theme you need to pinch the home screen.
So T owners can try this, It may work on your device. And please do report this thread if this home launcher has been posted already.
How to install
Rename the apk to "Home" and replace in the system\app with proper permission, reboot system and clear data of the "Home"apk.
Make sure to keep backup.

Thank you, it is working on my Xperia T Fast, very very fast, much better than the older Launcher.
It looks like the launcher is working brilliantly in the 2012 Xperia devices. But I have also shared this in Xperia 2011 forums and there the response is not so encouraging.

Just because an update might be rolling out for one particular device it doesn't necessarily mean all the Nexus hardware will be getting said update, so keep that in mind.
I haven't seen any mention of 4.2.2 recently, guess it'll happen soon enough (unless some people are trolling Reddit which is pretty common these days as the site gets more popular every minute).

They're holding their own roll-out, not world-wide.
The fact that a carrier has completed its internal tests for an update does not mean Sony is waiting for that carrier to A-OK the update; it can merely serve as a hint that Sony has a firmware revision deemed satisfying for release to carriers.
not fun at all until it rolled out.
Another useless thread.

first wait to see android 5 on nexus devices
in Sony way the enhanced GUI of stock android means Xperia firmware
+
Sony start to add additional features and setting (Like Samsung on Galaxy)
our opinion for new features can be Sony decision for android 5 upgrade...
:good:
I hope sony combine his Social Life app to Home like (samsung Note series swipe from left edge)and swipe the Google search bar can bring us to google now or make home direct Google Now and more more custom like deep changing inside setting and wishing new Icons/Apps/Features(Example double tap 2
wake /pen mode/glove mode)
Hope Sony give this Features
Sent from my C6903 Xperia Z1 using Tapatalk
No social app on homescren. It's worst thing I ever seen (I hate HTC because of their blinkfeed) now I hate Samsung for their thing on my tablet.
If Sony does the same, I will never buy them.
If someone wants something like this, go ahead in app, don't force million of people to use such a stupid app for nothing.
And generally, we will not get anything. Except under the hood enchantment, we will only get new look driven by material design. No smart features and etc.

I get your anger electrash but i seriously dont understand why it bothers you that much when you can just use a custom launcher like nova or apex...
Afterall I have the same experience across all my phones... install nova launcher, customize my own widgets and i'm in my comfort zone... I dont have to deal with Samsung bloatware or htc or any kind of bloatware....
The thing that really annoys me is the customization samsung does to the settings page... but that's where AOSP roms come in
Because I use many widgets from Sony which work only on stock launcher.
And it's the best, because it's close to vanilla, lightwheight.
Call me old school, but Sony launcher is the best in android world.
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app

I get it now. And yes, that is aceptable.
But dont get me wrong, we will not get it, like glove mode, pen mode or whatever.
I am pretty sure that we will not get double tap to wake (i use sony for long time, this is not in their nature to make this for older phone), but again little hope because it will be new kernel probably on lollipop as i understand, so maybe sony is little kind to give as this.
