What the heck is qe 2/1? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know what qe 0/0, 0/1 and 1/1 mean but I just flashed an ATT XT1097 unrooted ext4 image to my Verizon XT1096 using mofo.exe and now in recovery it says qe 2/1! What does that mean?

There is a theory that 2/1 means you have an unoffical rom. Which cknsidering what you did, the theory makes sense since you flashed 1097 to a 1096. But it's a theory I have not seen proof.

The sbf firmware no don't even try, your best bet is to wait for either eclipse or kangakat ROMs to be updated, you need to have a unlocked bootloader with a custom recovery. Please people do not take short cuts with your bootloader

Anyone without any OTA?

I have a moto X, xt1058 from claro, argentina, and i haven't reiceived any OTA so far yet, not even the camera fix one.
Is there anyone else with this problem?
Have you disabled the motorolaOTA app by chance? Or altered your phones system in any way?
Something must be altered on your phone to exclude you from every ota. I'm assuming there has been one for your model, cause I don't know for sure.
Sometimes restoring your phones factory image, the same as you currently are running, will jog the ota to come.

Software Status: Modified - Can it be changed back to Software Status: Official?

The phone is a XT1095; Pure Edition
So I unrooted the phone and flash the stock 5.0 image from Motorola.
In the bootloader, it's still showing that the software was modified even though the phone has been unrooted.
I've wiped cache and did a factory reset and still no change.
Any ideas? I'm sending the phone back for RMA and don't want Motorola rejecting my RMA because of the software status.

Don't worry then. The XT1095 does not lose it's warranty because it is unlocked nd modified, it is the "pure edition".

This problem have one solution.
1. Restore STOCK firmware with ADB o RSDLITE
2. Install one update with MOTOROLA OTA
only then are transform "modified" to "official"

So fastboot method wouldn't work for #1?
I'll try to find an OTA that would work with the stock 5.0 image.
Moto X(2nd Gen) Pure Edition:
L-5.0-LXE22.46-11 TMO
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
Right now if I check for an update on the phone or use Motorola Device Manager, it doesn't pick up any updates.
Modified does not matter on the XT1095. The whole point in unlocking the bootloader is to modify it... So yes being modified ia covered.

bricked?

ok, what happened:
I were on 4.4.4 stock kitkat rom with root. i wanted to update to 5.0 lollipop and i used the moto x 2014 multitool package. i pressed 6 for sideloading 5.0 update.zip every operation turned out successful. and i pressed reboot device when it was done. but my phone wouldn't turn on. i have tried turning it on into bootloader, but then the green light lights up and the two IR led's on the right side light up. i would really appreciate some help!

Thankyou for answering.
my computer detects it as QHSUSB_BULK. And yes, i downgraded it from 5.1 to 4.4.4 by flashing stock firmware.
You will have to send it to motorola for repair, there is no way for you to fix it yourself.
The problem is you downgraded your phone, after a downgrade you cannot take an OTA ever or it will brick.

Did your phone have stock 5.0 or 5.1 before you installed CM? If so, then yes you did downgrade when you went to 4.4.4 which is why it is now bricked. That message that says QHSUSB_BULK means you are bricked, you will have to send it to motorola.

Nope. That tutorial won't work.
To unbrick the Moto X 2014 we need the blankflash files, but Motorola didn't release it yet.
If you send it to repair they will replace the MB.

jig is for samsung phones to get into downloader mode. We have fastboot, not the same system. So no it will not work.
We have the tools we need, the problem is we don't have the signed files from motorola that are needed to flash. So until those files are leaked, you have no choice but to send it to motorola for the repair.

Moto X 2014 (XT1097 Canada) Wont Boot

Please help, my moto x 2014 wont boot what so ever. This first started from when I tried to root my XT1097 on android 5.1 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...e-edition-superboot-style-root-motox-t2889264 not realizing it wasn't for android 5.1. Then it was acting weird so I booted into fastboot and used a factory image which was for AT&T devices. Realizing this was the wrong image (No service or wifi what so ever) I flashed the proper image to return to stock, but now my device simply sits at the M logo and wont boot. Any help to get this device back up and running is appreciated!

If it is sticking at the M, its failing to boot Android at all. Does it roll into recovery automatically? Which firmware did you flash? Also, was the version flashed older than the one you previously had?

It doesn't seem to roll into recovery automatically. I flashed this initially : VICTARA_ATT_5.0.2_LXE22.46-34 (AT&T zip), and then I flashed this one: RETCA_XT1097_5.0.1_LXE22.46-22. I forgot which version I had before I tried rooting, but I do know it was android 5.1.

Yeah, that's where I figured it was hanging. All signs just point to a bad flash/firmware. I'd try downloading a different version (even 5.1 since you're unlocked) or verifying the hash on the firmware you flashed. You can use HashMyFiles to check the md5 or SHA hashes.

I did flash the Canadian firmware to my knowledge. RETCA_XT1097_5.0.1_LXE22.46-22_cid14_CFC.xml?
I was browsing the xda threads and saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-xt1097-to-xt1095-nextel-t2972693 where it states: "IMPORTANT.
