What is the reason that the AT&T Note 3 doesn't support HD voice but T-Mobile's does? Is this a hardware issue or could AT&T or someone issue an update/fix to enable it?

According to specs I read online, this phone supports HD Voice. However the local carrier does not. I was wondering if the phone had some setting to activate this, or was it a carrier-side feature... Anyone know?
has anyone with a pure edition on at&t been able to get volte to work?
no
AT&T doesn't really offer volte. If they do, is very market specific.
Yea I live in southeastern Virginia and we have volte here. Just trying to figure out what has to be done to the phone to make it work.
Certain SOC codes need to be added to your AT&T account to enable VoLTE. However, the Moto X is not compatible with the service. (Yet.)
so i got advanced calling working on my N6 from verizon. the one thing im missing though is the dialer that allows video calling. is anyone else having this issue? has anyone else figured out this issue? I would just really like the video calling capabilities that verizon offers, cause not everyone wants a skype or hangout (i.e., my mom). Thanks for all your help in advanced.
Not supported yet by Verizon.
Hello. The issue is with my new international unlocked SM-N950F/DS phone, which I am using on AT&T network in USA. The problem I am having has to do with the Wi-Fi Calling. I do not see this feature on the phone.
I was told by Samsung reps that all Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phones supports Wi-Fi Calling. But the feature ought to be enabled by the provider. I spoke with the AT&T technical support. They told me that in order for Wi-Fi Calling to work my phone should support HD Voice. They say that it does not. When I try to enable HD Voice directly on my phone by locating HD Voice setting service with QuickshortcutMaker -- I could not.
The AT&T techs said that I need to contact Samsung to have either firmware update or something. Samsung USA told me that they don’t know these phones and could not provide support.
Any suggestions on how to enable Wi-Fi Calling on this phone?
I have this exact problem! Did you find a solution? I’ve tried a bunch of things and haven’t gotten anything to work yet.

Rooting your phone and flashing ATT CSC would help
I'm using this Atrix HD phone (I got few of them from Bell Canada) in Canada on Freedom Mobile and I am able to get a good stereo (HD) voice. Phone doesn't say its HD voice like on other phones during a call. But I think it is HD voice (VoLTE?) However, I see that when making voice calls, the signal switches from LTE to 3G/H+...
So question is - is Atrix HD capable of doing VoLTE /HD voice or not. I heard that 3G will be phased out in the USA. Any thoughts?

using the phone dialpad type in *#*#4636#*#* then scroll down to see if "volte provisioned" is or can be enable. If it is enabled you should see the enhanced calling in settings /cellular networks/enhanced 4g lte mode.
@dust_off I built a version of Lineage with VoLTE enabler developed by edgd1er. It now shows VoLTE enabled in phone information but still does not show in settings. If you want to try it and let me know. If it works I'll post it in the proper thread. I'm also building a CRDroid version with the same changes if your using CRDroid.
