[Q] Conference Call Management Options!! - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want my freaking conference call management options back! When will they update this crap? It's sad that an "upgraded" phone has worse features than the old one!

What features.

Like, the ability to end a specific call or mute a specific call. The options went away when I "upgraded" from a Galaxy S5 to a Galaxy Note 4.

I think you need to test a bit more. Those features still in my phone.

Then you have a different phone...I use the conference call feature on my phone 3-5 times a day. I do not have an option to end a single call or mute a single call. I can add calls, sure, but I cannot MANAGE the conference call. I used to do it with no problems on my old Galaxy S5.

Play around with the phone I was able to more test call while other call heard me. I would post video but don't need my contacts numbers being out their. I use this for work so I know it is all in. Now if ur running a custom rom ask dev if he removed feature

I am running a normal, unrooted, Galaxy Note 4 straight from T-Mobile. I can place a call, then add another call to make it a conference, I can even add at least 4 calls (I haven't needed to try more than that). I cannot choose to end one of the calls or mute one once the conference call has been started. Is the option hidden somewhere? I have tried clicking just about everything during the call, and have gone through EVERY option in the settings and can't find anything about conference calling. There are a few hits on Google that show the steps for conference calls, and one actually shows pictures of managing one. But it looks just like the S5 management looked like, and I don't have the big button on screen that I used to have to manage the conference calls. Believe me, I'm not a newbie to conference calls. I have done 3-5 per day for the last several YEARS. This is my 4th Galaxy product, and it is the first one I've had issues with.

Maybe reach out to samsung.

Call transferring

Don't know if this is Kaiser only, but since I'ts a kaiser thats giving me grief here goes...
We're using a mobile switchboard and as part of the group answering our main phonenumber I'd really like to be able to transfer calls with my Kaiser...
Normal phones (as in my last Nokia E61i as well as my N95) gives me the options to park the current call, dial my colleague and then "transfer".. I can't find this option on my Kaiser..
Is this option not available in WM6 or is it HTC that has "removed" it? Or perhaps, is there a thirdparty software to help me with it
Go to Start / Settings / Phone / Services / Call Forwarding.
I'm talking about call transferring not call forwarding..
Transfer = I answer the call, call another contact & transfer it to him..
Forward = all my calls go to another contact and/or number...
Can I push this up, cause I'm desperatly looking for this function on the kaiser.
Maybe there's some addon or a special key combination to activate call transfer on the htc kaiser?
yep - this is possible but is network dependent.
you need to put the call on HOLD.
call your colleage/2nd party.
CONFERENCE the call (so you and 2 callers can hear each other)
then YOU hang up - they are left connected and chatting (but at the expense of YOUR bill!!!)
Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the answer! I will try this when I'm back in my company.
The costs are no problem because we call each other in the company for free and the call transfer is only needed to redirect customers to the right contact but I think it's a long way round when there could be a simple option in the menu (like hold and conference). Every other mobile I know offers a direct way to do this (either a menu item called transfer or by pressing a number).

Tested it and it doesn't work. It simply quits the complete conference.
Again, maybe there's a special dialer which supports it or some kex combination to press.
I really need this feature!
Solved!
So here's the way it works on wm devices:
Get the first call and put it on hold.
Make the second call and press the number 4 followed by the green phone button.
The second call is now transferred to the first and you are finished.
Great thanks to my phone provider ONE who came up with it!
Nice find! Does not work on my Q-Mobile 1.2 Tilt with AT&T.
I get "cannot conference calls"
I contacted AT&T and they said there is no way to do it.
I did read that if your call comes in using a Google Grand Central number you can transfer it using Grand Central specific codes.
Later, Lew

Yes, it's a "feature" that your Phone Provider must support in order to use it.
I get "cannot conference calls".
I know for a fact that the same sim when used in my old v v old ericsson r380 world phone allows me to conference multiple people.
but my kaiser (running stock) says the above message.
how can i conference calls? the phone looses part of its utility value if I am unable to use this feature. someone got any tips/ tricks for me?
p.s. i initiate both the calls...
conference call is not the same as call transfer!
You can start a conference as described by firstbuddha a few posts ago in this thread (you just shouldn't hang up if you want to stay in the conference). There's also a menu item for conference call.
If you use my method with pressing 4 and the green phone button you are trying to transfer a call which is only possible when your phone provider allows it.

Cool Call Fowarding Tool

Picture this:
Your sitting at work and someone is calling you.
Your work will fire you if you talk on your cell phone.
However, your work doesn't care if you talk on their corporate phones.
Cell Phone have a built in call forwarding feature.
What I would like to see is a an application that will run when there is an incoming call. I want it to pop up and give me the option to forward the call to my work phone number.
It would be nice to configure it to have multiple forwarding options.
For example:
If your sitting at home and you have poor reception, you want to take the call but you don't want to deal with the poor call quality, so you forward it to your home landline telephone..
If someone has seen and application like this:
Or feels like developing an application, it would be much appreciated.
Another option would be cool if worked with S2U2.
Thanks.
This would be awesome, is it doable? Since call forwarding is a net based service it probably don't work to use the net service. But if you make the app to handle it as a phone conference where you call up a third party, that should be possible?! DEVELOPERS, GET ON IT!
Can't you just input your work phone number as a call forwarding number in settings to call after not picking up after 4 or 5 rings. then when you get a call you get the option to ignore the call and then it will be forwarded to your work number automatically.
Or do only operators in the netherlands give you this option??
You can't forward call when there is an incoming call in progres, that can do only operator.
There is network service and network must have this information, so only u can use build in feature to forward, and as robstgter said u can use that after a specific time the call will be forwarded.

There is what you call, Forward on Busy, so when you hangup it just forward it to your number.
Are there any developers interested in working on this application/Function?

Well the problem is sometimes I would like to just ignore the call and send to voice mail.
Other times I would want to take the call, but I just want to hit foward to my work or home phone.
So I can talk on that line rather than my cell phone.
I wouldn't want it to always forward because I'm not always at work to answer the phone.
However, maybe there could be a easy way of completing this task by making an easy way to turn call forwarding off and on. The next thing to consider is the SMS (is it affected in a call forwarding environment or no?)

Yes and no.
I believe it takes just a second or 2 to update the call forwarding on your cell phone, through the settings, at least it use to be this way
SO: If the application ran, (pressing a button to forward) would just change the forward settings for you than after the 5 rings is up it forwards to the number desired.
I'm almost positive that the forwarding can happen after it rings because of this scenario:
You call someone, it rings 5-9 times then goes to voice mail. Well that voice mail is actually connected through a different phone number. Just like when you access your voicemail (for Californians) it dials a (909) 213-xxx number.. (which is nothing close to your cell phone number)

Yes, I agree the term is more of: Forward on Busy.

Delay answering incoming phone calls?

Every time my wife calls she says she can't hear me for perhaps 2-3 seconds after I think the call has connected.. My previous phone did not do this, but the Nexus One does.
Anyone heard of this, and have any suggestions? I have Google Voice call on by default, but she's calling my cell number so I don't think it'd affect anything. As far as I can tell, the call is connected, but she can't hear me say anything for several seconds. I usually wind up going "Hello? Hello? Hello?" and she finally answers.
Glad to see I am not the only one this happens to..well not glad but i just hope this means its not just my phone.
I know when they call one of my numbers (either Google Voice or Cell Phone # not sure which) it says incoming call from <Name> press 1 to answer and press 2 to send to voicemail
@sandtiger
this is from google voice it is a filter setting you can change by going to to the setting on the google voice website.
But this is a different issue (im assuming) then the OP

Yeah, I think I muddied the waters mentioning Google Voice, but these are calls directly to me cell number..
I might try disabling Google Voice just for S&G just to see what happens.. Seems when I place calls, they're connected when I expect them to be, but the delay could be more critical when answering.
I haven't yet, but going to try calling myself from my work phone to see what kind of delay I'm hearing.
I am having this problem also...did you ever find a solution?
Using BT headset by any chance?
In that case, it's normal.
Nope, no headset. Just the phone.
I need to test some more, but I think this has gone away for me.. Delay answering, plus the other party was "dropping out" often, ie: if it got quiet on their end, their voice disappeared entirely, and sometimes faded in or out while doing so.
Only thing I've changed is I disabled Google Voice as being my default call method, but this thread is about answering calls so I doubt it matters, especially since the calls were directly to my cell number not my GV number.
I might turn GV back on the way I had it and test some more, but maybe it was something weird with AT&T?
Im noticing this problem too, both on 2.1 and 2.2.
It seems to be a problem specific to AT&T N1's.
I also experience this. I've adjusted to swiping the answer button, pausing, then saying "Hello." I typically pause about 0.75 or 1 full second, and rarely do I need to do it longer.
The opposite seems to be true of the vibrate-on-connect feature: about 1 second after the person picks up, then the phone vibrates in my hand. How is that useful?! =P

Conference call management

Anyone know how I can get back this feature? I had it on the note 3 and s5. On the note 4 you can add many people to the conversation but you can't hang up or mute a single person they're all together.
Note 4
Hi there, the conference call management feature is not available in note 4. I was surprised to find out that this feature was in S5 and note 3 but not in note 4. Also there are certain apps not compatible with note 4 as well. I really was stunned that the newer version of Samsung note would be downgrading instead of improving software and added features

App compatibility most likely has to do with the quadHD screen. That should change with time once developers catch up.

BAD ASS NOTE 4
Need Note 4 Update
Yep, that's what I thought too, but I have the Note 4 Edge, and it's not that you don't know how to initiate the Conference Call feature, once the conference call is active, the call management feature doesn't exist. There are simply no tools that come up to manage the call like, swap between calls, or release call 1, you only have the option to end all calls. We need an update bad........

Hey guys not sure if you noticed but it's always there on tmobile, If you turn off volte it'll work but if volte is on, it doesn't! Try it and you'll see
problem solved
Go to settings >call>voice over LTE settings and then choose DO NOT USE VOLTE.
thanks everyone and let me know what you think
I wouldn't call this "problem solved", it's a big compromise between better call quality on all calls or conference management on a few calls. It's 2016 and they haven't fixed this yet. Is there any phone that can do both VoLTE and conference call management at the same time?

[Q] WiFi Calling - missing calls

Howdy,
I am having a puzzling issue:
WiFi calling is on, I can place calls - no problem. Every day I however am missing incoming calls - the call goes directly to voice mail.
Text messages are coming in from the same number a few seconds later telling me that my wife called and the call went to voice mail
Power cycling the phone or making an outgoing call seems to fix the problem.
It seems to me the trigger for it is when I leave my home and come back. The WiFi calling icon comes up - so it looks like it has registered ...
The same SIM in my "old" Note 2 ... I don't have any issues - no missed calls.
Hardware (phone) has been exchanged, numerous calls to t-mobile with the usual factory reset ... reset phone registration etc.
My internet connection is a directed WiFi ( WISP, I am the owner of the network). I usually have around 40/20 MBit - that should do, IMHO. The slowest ping to google I have seen was 40ms - most the time we are less than 10ms
Any hints are highly welcome ( I am ready to return the phone so frustrated I am ... )
Thanks
Oskar
Well what I have seen is if you stay stock you ended good. Rooting and flashing ROM has giving my phones headaches. I think issues are with TMOBILE handling your phone call switch over. Been on phone with them and have been thru 2 phones and 1 on the way. They don't wanna admit they messed up . so it gonna be a wait till update comes out.

It's a shot in the dark but you might want to try a new SIM card. I was also using a SIM from my Note 2 and was having problems. New SIM seemed to fix it for me. I am rooted as well.

I went through 2 phones also and it's not the sim card because I switched it 2-3 times
I get plenty of missed calls from my work, I wake up and see voicemails and there's no notification of a missed call. So basically people are calling me and I don't even know unless they leave a voicemail which people barely do nowadays.
I talked to a rep and told me to turn off volte and it helped SOMETIMES but it still happens to me.

I have had volte off from day 1. This started happening when they enabled the handoff feature from cell tower call to WiFi calling. It sucks. I want it back the old way.

so, in the moment the conclusion seems to be .. it is either on the t-mo network side or the OS.
One more bit: I am using insteon and Mobilinc Pro for light control. That app works perfect on the note 2, on the note 4 button clicks seems not to work - or at least different.
So I wonder whether it might be possible to flash a note 4 rom to a note2 - just for testing purpose

Check your PM.
I'm glad to see this thread and will be following it. I'm on a T-Mobile Note 3 and am seeing the same thing with missed calls and also repeating and delayed texts. Just today I left my Wifi and got an important text message from about 15 hours ago! I also can't download MMS, but am not sure if it is related yet.
well,
updated to Lolipop and several calls to t-mo tech support and trouble tickets:
I still am missing incoming calls.
When I know a call is coming and I toggle WiFi on the phone on and off ... then the call comes thru
Absolutely frustrating

Yep this happens to me constantly. Family says "I've been trying to get a hold of you all day" and I'm just replying well it didn't ring so I dunno. And that's on different ROM's.
this is a much acknowledged issue with the LP update, many threads are filled with complaints of it but it doesn't affect everyone so its hard to say the cause. My phone works fine but others' don't so idk
