and got following reply. It is sort of a universal reply, nowhere is said that Samsung won't give you Theme Editor, all is wrapped into PR talks:

Average Joes, aka DarkHorse we got the exact same response. Sent them all my links to my themes etc.. Heard nothing at all so far.
I also sent them links to my Themes and got the same response...
I think the response we got, maybe means to re-make partnership request as they maybe started now to accept requests?

i'm thinking they are not able to handle it..... building a overlay apk with layout, styles, and drawable folders is not easy as they show...

yesterday I used Xiaomi's Miui Theme Editor...
it's very complete tool. you can pull from phone every app and theme it in very friendly user interface.
also I tried HTC's online Theme Maker. it's quite good too.
LG has also is own Theme Park windows application for making themes.
I hope Samsung follow these companies and release a good tool.
The strange thing in this case for me, is why Samsung has this "partnership request" thing and why it doesn't just release this tool to all themers without partnership requests? Just as all other companies do.
Yeah I def would love to see other devs make themes. A lot of the current themes seem like some 5 year old kid came up with the idea.
Has anyone tinkered to see where everything is stored? I'm just wondering if any cm themes could be used? How much different would it be? I know when I had my g2 I was able to download themes from xda and just apply them

But it appears I have ended up on a few of their developer programme mailing lists
They have been good at not leaking the tool either b/c there is no trace of it to download on the net. Really a shame b/c what could be so simple is not taking a long time to mod themes manually

It's not web based, its a local installation. I think others, like myself, are concerned with getting their developer status revoked since it seems to be so difficult for others to get int now. I can't detect anything in the tool that would tie it to a specific user, but I also don't know much about that type of security.

AGx-07_162 made a theme out this, but he had to leave the project because of lack of time, so he left it all to me.
I tried improving that, but had no luck XP and with school and hoemwork i have no time too :/

Theming is all actually pretty simple.
If you want to make it yourself, I suggest starting with the guide here:

From that you will understand how to theme and insert images. The only problem is finding the correct apk to change.

there's no reason. close it for now. let people PM him if they want to give suggestions or help. he doesn't even know how to theme and he's doing what lucky tried to do where as lucky had some knowledge/experience. just because your last theme became a reality doesn't mean this will. there weren't many who helped lucky and it took forever. what makes you think someone will speed up a theme like this? learn it and work on it on your own and slowly get others to help if you can. that's how you'll get somewhere. don't post until something is ready. i told lucky this already, and now i'm telling you. no hard feelings.... just a reality check .

the "other ones" were over-hyped and promises that weren't met. he is neither hyping anything or promising anything and no one is posting uncalled for comments, so it should be kept open unless it starts to go "downhill"

I dont know about others but Kryogen's last concept actually turned into a not very hyped theme, because I never posted a "comming soon" or even spoke a word of the fact that I was working on it until I released it.
As for you Kry, this looks even better than your Atlantis concept. May I have the PSD? I've actually been talking with someone who's interested in making a theme so I may colab with him on this (or just help out with it.)

I really love the dialer, the rest looks good but its not something I would use. I'm a stock android guy, but the dialer looks amazing, please don't be offended

Some many be familiar here, but last year I did all 32 NFL teams as full themes. After a while they became to hard to maintain, most were updated as far as donut, most to metamorph, but I have all the files. This is my offer if anyone wants to pick them up at all, even if just your team, let me know. Figure rather then let them go to waste.
All the colors are done, so you could even use this to help you put together other teams.
An example of some of the screens:
If you view the album, there are screens for all 32 teams, widgets, boot, and icons. the widgets and some parts I believe I still have all the .9's for also, in case you wanted to redo anything.

The Bears zip is now there, only thing I want to put up is a few of the newer psd files for when I updated the icons, seems the Bears theme never got that update.

Just an FYI, someone on the CM forums has volunteered to do the 49ers, and another for Bears, and someone is going to work on the Dolphins and Ravens on twitter. Ill try and keep track of them all so everyone can see.

Tomorrow or Wed Ill give you a link to everything. I would NOT recommend making anything to the market. I am currently dealing with a very large issue from that from when I did my Open Home themes.

So some of you may or may not remember a little old blog called Color Me Android from back in the day that was a screenshot based site. Well, it went down some months ago, and that was that. However. I tried to put a theme on my phone the other day (It's supposed to be so simple with the theme chooser, yeah?). Unfortunately, because it's so easy with CM7 and MIUI theme engines, that themes are EVERYWHERE. It takes you about a bloody hour just to find one.
So, I brought CMA back.
As a theme site.
It's a visual directory of all CM7/MIUI/ADW - type themes. It's in Open Alpha, and I'm inviting people to come, register, sign in, submit screenshots (Yes, I kept the orignal screenshot part of the site there) and help me find bugs while I finish adding themes. I've got 45 on the site so far. And I'm working my way down that ginormous list of themes that stickied in this forum.
So yeah.

Once you register and log in there's a submit screenshot link that pops up so you can submit and view screenshots (a glorified 'post your homescreen' thread - but it's just like old school cma [hopefully])

Indeed you did. I can always go in and edit it, but it's nice for the people to know what they're doing. Especially since I'm the only admin/editor for the alpha. That way if I change something, I don't have to worry about telling other people about it

AH. I got my new phone and then went to your site to find some nice styles but noticed its changed a bit.
Am right in thinking the old site was more customised home screens than themes?.......If so is there anyway to see them again because thats what I really liked. People saying what widgets they used and custom graphics to make cool buttons etc.
But still the site is good! Maybe have an option to go back to the old version aswell?

Yes, it used to be a screenshot based site. I am going to be bringing that functionality back in the near future. However, I am still working on finding decent hosting. I can't afford anything so I'm looking for a sponsor. Until I find one, production is at a standstill. But yes, the screenshot portion of the site is going to be at screens.colormeandroid.com when I get everything set up eventually.

Everything was meant to be done by yourself in the first place....the fact that you had multiple offences for kanging, should really point you to a new direction.
If you want to know what to improve, make your themes 100% by yourself manually through VTS/gradle/eclipse, it's better than using Theme DIY as a base. Also don't kang work. I remember you kanged Dark Material, minimaterial and now Material Light Blue....what next...?

I just used bootanimation which is removed and it's not kanging. And theme you pointed I uses them as base and modified them.

It isn't about asking for money or not. You used MY stuff, that I worked I without asking for permission from me.
That is what Nick is telling you. Kangers are frowned upon, do your own work or don't do anything at all. Don't use another hardwork or if you need something, the least you can do is ASK.
I probably would have let this slide since you said you'd remove stuff you took from my theme but according to Nick this isn't your first time kanging so you're about to be reported and then xda can deal with you.

Yes, it is YOUR wish to use Theme DIY as a base, but it is also YOUR wish you to kang work from people who actually worked hard on their themes. Nothing is wrong from using Theme DIY as a base, but there is something wrong if you are using work from people people without seeking permission.
Redistributing themes without permission, regardless whether it is free or not, is against the rules:
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission and you must give credit to the member whose work you used.

You had three strikes, if not more. As stated previously, I always monitor your themes closely whenever it is updated onto the Mega thread as I already know you as a theme kanger, and I don't want my bunch of themer friends to get the raw end of the deal. Albeit disrupting the true design of the theme by inserting a specific wallpaper in a theme not made for it, or just plain copying. You already did all of those.

That is what Nick is tell you. Kangers are frowned upon, do your own work or don't do anything at all.
I probably would have let this slide since you said you'd remove stuff you took from my theme but according to Nick this isn't your first time kanging so you're about to be reported and then xda can deal with you.

Did you get permission to use it as a base at the beginning? NO. You used it as a base, THEN you ask, that is INCORRECT. You are meant to ask before even decompiling the theme at the first place.

Wasn't gonna comment again but seriously? You're right? You have got to be kidding me..
So the wallpaper and boot animation you took from MY theme are not stolen?
Please provide proof of where I allowed you to use them in your theme.
And let's not even start on how using DIY isn't even real theming so you literally used an app to make a quick theme, took some of my stuff and psoted.
But whatever I don't have time to argue over this, reported and now I can close this thread..

Theme DIY base is fine if you plan to use it. No one said it was bad, I was just recommending you to do it manually, like actually writing up your own styles - since you said you wanted us to tell you on what to improve.
Also, removing aspects of your theme after being caught of Kanging, doesn't mean you didn't do the bad deed.
For example, stabbing someone in the chest then sealing up his wound doesn't mean that he didn't get stabbed by you, even though the wound is completely gone. You still stabbed him, and he'll always remember.

There's alot out there but I use tickle my android and it works great. You can Google it to find thread in xda. It's very easy to use .

It's a computer program that decompiles and recompiles the apk your trying to theme. You need a program like that to change colors and images.

Well if you want to look up tools for Android Decompiling and finding out the resources files where each UI element or color is, and make your own theme from there, but it's a long process D:

Not easy enough apparently.. Put in my request, I even have a web site with my work. Then I was denied. Laff. **** you samsung.

I got it so long ago, they had an update where they were very strong on letting people know that the software cannot be redistributed and they are heavily against it.
I can't remember how to download is handled. It's possible that each file has a unique identifier idk.
If you deserve to be on the store then you'll get on there, and looking at the garbage quality of designs that are on there right now, you should be fine.

Don't know if this is relevant, and I know this is an old thread but I just downloaded this and I'm going to try it out. Maybe this can help for anyone else wondering the same thing.
A quick google search found the Samsung Theme Designer tool.
I can't post the link because this is a new account but google search for "samsung theme designer" and it should come up as the first result at develper.samsung.com
