Hi,
I had dual sim Moto G 2014 with Stock Lollipop 5.0.2. This firmware in italy with the H3G provider, has a major bug: when I call someone and he answer, after I close, in the recent calling I can see "Unknown Number" or "Private Number", and I can't see the number of my contact. I Solve this bug with the Resurrection Remix ROM (ONLY THE VERSION 5.3.8 stable with LP 5.0.2, the newer version have still the bug) and with the Quantum Rom version 3.2.1 stable. According to me, the problem is the baseband/modem, so I think that i can backup the Baseband of the Resurrection Remix that works, and restore it after falsh the last build with LP 5.1.
So I tried looking for a guide on web but I have not found. Can you help me to backup the baseband and restore it?
Thanks
that bug have no relation to the baseband.
I believe that bug is from the ROM you are using or some wrong config that you made, or a app that you installed and is causing it.
The base band file is not present in custom ROM, according to my knowledge the baseband file is ''NON-HLOS.bin'' that is inside the XML file of a stock ROM, and wen you flash a custom ROM those ROM dont have the baseband file, that way it doesn't flash it (baseband files) and the ROM can be flash to any device from any region of the planet. Of course in some cases wen you use a lollipop custom ROM you need to be, before flash it on the stock lollipop ROM in that way you have all the files necessary to run the custom ROM, that included baseband file that are using on lollipop.
If that is true you have a bug on the stock ROM noting related to the modem files.
If the ROM that you flash have only system and boot.img it doesn't contains modem files...
you can check if all that is true by flashing back the stock, take a print of ''about a phone'' that shoes baseband version, after you flash a new ROM and see if that change.
Or just find a original moto g pic from ''about a phone'' from a moto g of yours region.

Hello I'm 2do,
I'm working in a Custom ROM and currently I want to replace the modem.bin I9000XXJVT on the base ROM with I9000XXJVU.
I've already replaced the modem.bin file, created a new update.zip file and afterwards I flashed the new ROM on my SGS, everything ran smoothly but in the system info (about phone) the Band base remains the same, I mean I9000JVT.
What file must be edited to change this info?
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure that the info is wrong? Maybe your baseband is still JVT because something went wrong while flashing.. Check with a 3rd party app which baseband you really have.
On Samsung based roms *#1234# will tell what's status of phone, modem, csc.

Question is in the title. Have at it!
Tick exclude baseband on flashtool.

Flashtool only seems to be able to flash FTF files. It won't flash a zip, or the uncompressed files.

Yes...
Just flash the .zip in recovery that you want to and if you want to keep a certain baseband or LTE then flash a stock ftf (with the baseband you want) in flashtool and exclude everything EXCEPT baseband. That will then just change the baseband to the one in the ftf and as long as that ftf has the baseband you want then you will be OK.
Baseband and RIL is part of a ROM.
If you want to preserve baseband and RIL from another ROM, change modem files in /system/etc/firmware and /system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so in the ROM zip.

Can firmware files be switched out just that simple, or do I have to edit some kind of config/list of the files so that they are recognized by the flashing mechanism? Is there a way of finding out which stock firmware is absolutely necessary to stay for the device to work optimally?
Also, can the kernel of a locked bootloader phone be updated if the newer kernel is official and unmodified, which is to say it came by official manufacturer means? In my situation, my phone notified me that 9.1.A.1.140 was officially available for my phone which I could not successfully update because CWM Recovery on my phone was an issue for it. After flashing my phone with SEUS to reset it to factory default, it now claims that the version I already had before, 9.1.A.0.489 is now [somehow] the most recent. The only discrepancy is that it is a Rogers phone, but the only FTF I could find for the exact same model is from a Bell phone. They use the exact same hardware, and most likely same baseband (seems to work just fine), but ofcourse comes with a few different vendor apps.
Yes, you can just change those files (I changed whole firmware folder), flash newer radio and newer kernel with flashtool.
But RIL stays almost unchanged in JB versions (if you compare it in editor), so it is probably not necessary to change it.

When I try to flash the FTF over the ROM I get an error saying there is a SIN header mismatch.
The exact error:
ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CODE="0019";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed";
Hello wisemen,
On a very related note, I would like to flash just my baseband in recovery from a zip (I've never used the flashtool). Is there a baseband repository for the Xperia T anywhere (LT30p model)? If there is, it seems to have evaded the search engines.
Background:
I'm doing this to fix the broken speakerphone and call echo in CM10.1.3.
Thanks in advance.

No. But if you download a ftf for your phone then you can exclude everything EXCEPT baseband to have the same effect (Ensure you UNTICK all the wipe options as well.)
i, know that the title may sound a bit idiotic , but before telling me to flash this and that plz read out the entire problem,
So here goes..
I have a 16 gb Moto X xt 1052 (India) and weirdly I am not able to flash some custom roms present here, i flashed
[ROM][4.4.4][SlimKangs Moto X][SaberMod 4.8][Linaro][Build 7][2014/07/12]
and it flashed like a breeze, also eclipse rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-eclipse-moto-x-v3-2-2-4-4-2-blur-t2521509
but, i haven't been able to install PA rom , CM11, Carbon, Dirty Unicorn , or any other rom saying unified built for msm8960dt
Plz tell me what should i do, and of course I tried , flashing them on TWRP, and CWM

This is probably the problem: Did you flash the entire stock SBF file for your carrier -before- you tried to install the roms that aren't working?
I didn't check them all, but the Eclipse rom you linked specifically says in the OP that you need to do this. It is because it requires you to be on the 4.4.2 boot.img (kernel) and baseband. You likely have mismatched versions because you have been flashing other ROMS.
Just follow the instructions in the "Return to Stock" thread to flash back to the most recent OFFICIAL firmware you were on. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DOWNGRADE! If at any point you had the 4.4.3 OFFICIAL ROM on the phone, do NOT flash 4.4.2
Also, if you ever had the 4.4.3 boot.img (kernel) on there, Eclipse specifically says it requires you to be on the 4.4.2 Kernel/baseband.
You need to be really careful to not downgrade. Doing this has left many X users with bricks...
Can you give that a shot and let us know if it fixes your issue?
Good Luck
No, plz Check the other rom , that rom too is a cm based rom i gues but it doesn't give me any trouble,
Also I tried flashing those rom over my stock rom but TWRP just says FAILED
Hi there. Forgive me, but I'm new here.
Some time ago I flashed my i9000 with CyanogenMod, which means I obviously had to unlock the bootloader and install CWM recovery. The problem is I've forgotten alot,
Do roms have modems with them, or do I need to do that myself? Which i9000 modem is best for the UK? Reception is poor under CyanogenMod. I was planning to flash an unofficial build of Omnirom 5.5.1 for the i9000, does this include the latest modem files?
I've tried looking for TWRP but I'm unable to find it, I was planning to replace CWM.
What about the bootloader, is this included in Omnirom or do I need to find that too?
I apologize.
Only some roms comes with modem files. Omni has modem files in the zip. So u can flash
Its better flash any kitkat first
Eg: slimkat
Then flash omni. Because directly flashing the lollipop may not work or you will lose baseband
Ok good luck
I'm currently running one of the last CM12.1 nightlies on my N910T3 with the N910T3UVU1DOK2 baseband. Now that there are a few seemingly mostly stable Nougat builds I want to try upgrading, but as far as I'm aware this old baseband won't work with a MM or N ROM and I'll have no radios working. Unfortunately it seems that the new basebands aren't compatible with LP ROMs and the N910T3 can not be downgraded, so once I move forward there's no turning back.
I have a few questions:
1. Am I correct that I'll need to upgrade to a newer baseband to expect any MM or N ROM to work correctly?
2. Am I correct that my current LP ROM will no longer work after I upgrade to a newer baseband?
3. Am I correct that since I have a N910T3 I will be unable to downgrade my baseband back to a LP compatible revision?
4. With the previous three questions in mind, when I choose to upgrade should I get a specific version or just grab the latest one? (N910T3UVS3EPK2 at the moment it seems)
edit: Also is the best way to go about it to just Odin/Heimdall back to completely stock and effectively restart from scratch or is there a better way for a phone that's already running TWRP?
