Is there a method to unlock a rooted galaxy pocket out there yet? I only found some but they are codes that cost roughly $40 which is probably more than what the phone is worth.

As a long time Blackberry user who's ready to make the jump to Android, I'm interested in buying an Android device, but the question that bugs me is if I should buy a G1 or ADP. Based on my googling, I know the ADP has easy root access, can take any image (including the stock G1), and comes unlocked out of the box (since I require an unlocked phone for travel, although I can probably wait the 90 days for T-Mobile to cough up an unlock code for my G1, or pay for it to be unlocked).
I'm currently out-of-contract and unwilling to re-sign another two years for discount (for one, I'm not sure I'll be living in a place w/ T-Mobile service within two years, or keeping them as a carrier (although loosing 3G will be a bit of a hit) so I'll be paying full price. As the current G1 new price sans contract is about $400 doolars, the $425 + tax for the ADP1 seems to be a good choice. I know the limitations on copy protection apps on the ADP1, but it doesn't seem to be that big, and I plan to do both firmware and app dep, it seems to be the way to go. Any suggestions for or against?
Replied twice, my bad.
ADP's will have a rom with root access and an engeneering bootloader. As far as I know that's it. If you root your G1 you will be able to flash an ADP firmware (one that supports paid apps) and the engeering bootloader (and obviously you'll have root access). So I'd go with whatever is cheapest. G1's are easy to root, and I got mine unlocked for a tenner.I bought my G1 on eBay for a very good price. I'm sure they'll be some new ones on on Ebay that are much cheaper than an ADP1.
I agree with AdrianK, a rooted and unlocked G1 can do everything that an ADP can do with some definite cost saving especially if you buy second hand. I bought a G1 on ebay as well for $80 but it has a cracked screen. I don't care because I just use it to test roms (see sig). You can find deals like this all over ebay and you can get a screen replacement for about $90 so if your handy, you can have a like new phone for $170 vs $300 or $400 or whatever they are without a contract.
Agree with everyone else. Why even buy an ADP
Just ordered an unlock code from them for my G1 for £3.99
Waiting for the code. Paid with PayPal.
Anyone used this site?
Thanks
I use this one, expensive but fast and trustable
Even I got my Nokia unlock codes from Superunlockcodes very cheap and within minutes.
The instructions are also available there itself which are easy to follow.
ebay all the way , u can get a refund it if dun work out
I say $45. What would you pay?
I wouldnt pay nuttin, zippo, zilch..i would buy a dev device if i wanted an unlocked bootloader.
What is this? Why is this?
I just want to lol...
tapa'd on my moto x
Nothing. I'd never buy a device I can't unlock and play with.
Homework and research.... Then buy. Pay a little more? Maybe. Change carrier if need be? Maybe. Don't even consider a locked out phone and get a different brand? Yup!
My 2 cents.
$0.
I will not even pay extra for the Dev edition which I think is a rip off.
If you can't unlock the bootloader for free, I'm buying a different phone that allow that. Like my OnePlus or a Nexus. I would switch carrier if I have to.
With Samsung introduction of Knox they will never get my money also (aside from their cheap build, ugly design and Touchwiz).

Anybody using this service? I have a few more days to opt-in If I'd like and want to see if its really worth it. I bought my phone outright from T-Mobile, but am unsure if it'd be worth the cost even if I applied a 50% coupon (if it doesn't exclude). Thoughts?
Nobody was even interested in this option from Samsung for their Note 4?
Nope I pay for Jump comes with insurance and can upgrade as well if I het that I would have to pay $10.00 plus that I'm good.

That's $224 for a repaired or refurbished phone, and that doesn't include loss or theft. No thanks.
If I'm with T-Mobile and bought the phone outright and not on jump, is it worth the insurance they offer?
I am thinking this is a good time to update my device. No… wait… locked bootloader!
