I cant boot the device. I have tried using odin to flash to stock rom and it fails. I dont have usb debugging enabled and I cant boot in and chnage it. This happend because i flashed a rom with an app without changing the setting for activation lock. Please I am going crazy.

What Rom did you flash? Have you tried to connect it to smart manager?

You can't remember? Smh
As far as I know, if you boot into download mode, you should be able to use ODIN and flash back to stock. What error do you get using ODIN?
Are you booting into Download Mode when trying to use ODIN?
Being in Debugging Mode has absolutely no bearing on using ODIN.
Simply boot into Download Mode (Power + Volume Down + Home) and then plug in and let ODIN recognize the device and then flash stock.

Try to flash with another firmware, I remember when I flashed to JM1 ( for testing purposes my download mode reverted to an older version and noticed that JM1 made a forced update ( rather downgrade ) on the Odin UI. I flashed to JM9 and I saw another message on Odin that my boot loader was updated.
how can i flash without the phone not booting up or go to download mode?

Can you still connect to pc? You can use adb command to go to download mode, that is you still have debugging mode on.
If everything fails, use the download jig, a thread started by TheBeano.
Good luck.

i tried using ADB, but phone is not recognized by the computer...
Build the jig, it shouldn't be too hard even if you've never touched a soldering iron.
I have tried everything, flashing with odin does not seem to work every time my phone starts up it just stays on the Samsung bootup screen then turns off for a split second and comes back on to that screen again. I have tried everything. I AM able to get in download mode so i can flash my phone but that is IT as recovery mode doesnt work, as i have tried all the methods.
-my phone was rooted and flashed and lagfix was applied.
Any1 know what i can do?

but with odin though( which is unfortunatley the hard way )
but before i tell you the odin way..............
feast your eyes on this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLYkMk16la8
first flash xwjm8 with odin
Then flash your region's eclair firmware. From there you know the route.
Wish you all the best.
thank you, i shall give it a try right now
Need to get a firmware with 4 files (pit, phone, modem, csc) then flash with odin and repartition. Should work now.

oh well u didnt turned on ur debug mode u adb wouldnt read ur phone, the best treatment for that is to flash ur phone with Official Roms, theres nothing to worry about if u can still go to download mode and if odin can detect ur phone
whats bells firmware called?
Hello,my Samsung galaxy s is restarting constantly it started today after my phone frozen and I took out the battery after it booted it just showed Samsung logo and then goes to devil kernel logo after that just stays there and wont boot up and then restarts.I tried getting into recovery mode but it doesn't want to,only download mode works but phone doesn't get recognized by PC so cant do anything.
EDIT
When I charge the phone battery icon isn't showing like its charging it just shows empty battery and spinning indicator is frozen.
Seems like you have overclocked your phone too much or undervolted too much. What you need to do is go to cwm recovery and install a different kernel and see if it works.

Did you fix the problem?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
Not yet going to try that later today.
To flash a kernel put your galaxy into download mode, connect via cable to pc, start odin, select in PDA a *.tar file and flash!
here you can download semaphore kernel for ICS Roms:
http://www.semaphore.gr/downloads/gt-i9000-ics
good luck!
Odin fixed the restarting problem, but now when i get in recovery mode its giving unknown volume and cant mount sd card error so is there anyway to install rom via odin?

LOL man just go find a firmware on sammobile.com (find JVK one) download it, put the phone into download mode, connect to odin. Put the biggest file thats in the firmware zip as PDA, CSC in csc ect. Tick "repatriation" "f reset time" and flash it. Then root it via CF-Root. (Find it on XDA - i hope you're able to do that) then itll all be good

i've got the exact same problem as the above mentioned. is there any help for us?
i downloaded the zip from sammobile.com already, but i just have 2 files in the zip: JVI_JV2_JVO.tar and SS_DL.dll.
i wonder how i should put csc in csc etc.
any help out there?
like i said i had the same issue.
to resolve it just follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665643

I've gotten this before. I think it's caused by a failed flash in a rom, either interrupted or something else. The way I solved this was to pluck out the battery, put it back in, boot into download mode (power+home+vol down buttons). Then make sure u have Samsung usb driver installed and then run Odin as administrator. Continue to flash the stock firmware.

take it as second download mode
just connect it with Odin and flash the firmware
this normally happens when flashing process is interrupted
as u can see from my screen image that download from pc to mobile is disabled..

Also, the exclamation mark (!) between the computer and phone icons do not symbolise unable to connect to pc. It means something like "the phone needs to be connected to the computer to flash another firmware."

Bro, Don't worryYou can have it working. The exact scenario happened with me too. It happens when you enter in download mode & then due to some reason, you try to switch it on normally. In such case, it won't open either normally or in recovery, but only in Download Mode. So, remove battery, insert it again & press the Download Mode combo keys to enter download mode (Download mode works in such cases) & follow these guidelines:-
1. If odin is crashing, try another pc.
2. If odin is not recognizing your device even when correct drivers are installed, Then check the name of OPS file. For MINI it should be "Tass_v1.0.ops" (without quotes). Note that, device model number appears in Odin's Title Bar.
3. After that If Odin is hanging in btw (for ex: in setup connection), try another USB port.
5. If still problem persists, try another stock firmware.
6. If firmware update is successful and phone bootloops, remove battery, go to stock recovery mode & wipe data/factory reset. Then, wipe cache.
If you implement these correctly, it's 100% gauranteed that your phone should be normal.
Your problem should be solved by then.
