Anyone else having this issue? There doesn't doesn't seem to be any method to the madness; it happens fairly randomly.
It's happened while:
-listening to music with stock CM12.1 music player
-using stock browser
-using Chrome browser
-watching video on YouTube app
It's almost as if the screen turns off, but it's still on. No status bar, no navigation keys. If it happens while listening to music or using YouTube, audio skips for a moment but keeps going.

This happens on the LG G-Pad 8.3, too (CM12/CM12.1 based and AOSP 5.1.1*)
haven't observed this on the Note 3 yet
Could be either a regression, issue originating in Android 5.1.1 (or 5.1) or something introduced by CM12* and backported to AOSP 5.1.1 ROMs
I suspect it's either related to Adreno drivers or Qualcomm stuff (G-Pad also has Adreno & Qualcomm parts according to http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_g_(2nd_gen)-6647.php )
since a CM11-based kernel runs fine, so it must be something in sauce (kernel sources)

OK so I have tried the stock music player, TuneWiki and PowerAmp and all three seem to have the same issue. The music will simply stop playing and it acts as though I pressed the pause button. I have my Xoom in the standard HD dock and I have seen this behaviour both through the speakers of the Xoom and when I have external speakers plugged into the dock.
I have tried to determine if a notification is stopping the music, but it does not appear to be triggered by that. I tried sending myself an email to both my Gmail and Touchdown (exchange) accounts and the notification played but the music resumed as expected.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
I have noticed this too but for me it only happens when loading something or deleting things and it must be using alot of CPU.
not sure if this is correct, but maybe it's not the CPU - maybe it's the internal memory. I mean, let's say you're playing music, and in the background you've got google services, tweetdeck, weather widget etc... updating data and then you open the market and so on
seems like a lot of things using the same memory. If memory was seperate like on the NExus One (some internal, some on sd) it wouldn't happen...
happens to me once in a while on my 3g xoom... doesnt bother me much. however sometimes the music app totally closes(force close) and sometimes the music pauses itself.
Happens to me sometimes too.
Sent from my Xoom
Mine does kind of the opposite....every once in a blue moon it will open the music app
I too have noticed this but only when another application is attempting to make a sound or notify. For example when I am playing music and an email comes through ... the music will pause while the email notification is playing.
I would check your running apps. Some poorly written apps might be grabbing the sound for some reason even though it is not needed by the app.
Mine does this on Wifi Xoom as well, only appears to happen on stock music player, winamp has worked fine. I think I has something to do with other apps running or transfering data over usb.
I think motorola/google need to release a stablity/bug fix update. Theres a few quirks that need to be ironed out.

Yea, stock music app seems to be full of bugs. For me it always resorts to having to reset the xoom because the whole thing crashes. This plus the constant force closes in browsers is really starting to annoy me. Winamp seems to fix the music issue but no other market browser solves the other issue. Sorry to get a bit off track. Google needs to get their act together. I don't think I've ever seen even a windows release this buggy.
Hi,
I modded my Xperia T with Cyanogenmod to jump from Android 4.1.2 to 4.3.1.
After that change, I noticed the standard music player was replaced by Apollo, which sucks up battery power unlike the original music player (it could go for hours and not make a real difference in power consumption, like 3% in 1-2h).
I'd like to have a similar performance but still have it interrupt itself when I get a phone call, watch a movie clip or even better: when the GPS gives instructions (though I appreciate the volume drop when an alert sound plays and the stability of the app when typing text).
Thanks in advance!

I like Poweramp very much. Even prefer it over the Sony Walkman app
I also use PowerAmp. I've tried a few others, but always come back to PowerAmp.
While playing video in defeault player or in MX Player or Youtube Player, every few minutes the picture is freezing for few seconds but audio is playing normally. I tried different custom roms like TGP v.20, Amcha v. 1.3 and rXtreme v.2.0 but everywhere is this issue. I have old bootloader and I'm using mostly AGNI kernel and some mods like: wanam xposed, greenify, amplify. I tried wipe cache but I'm still having issuses.
The second problem is NFC bug. When I'm using bluetooth connections NFC turns on itself, always.
Does anyone have that?
Are there any solutions for these issue?

No problem at all here... Even with latest you tube app... Weird... Maybe you have problem with your mods.

Yes same problem here, NFC auto-enables when I disconnect bluetooth, i've posted a report HERE.
I didn't find a solution yet.
EDIT : it's a sammy issue ! People with stock ROM (and also me after some tests) have this issue as well. I guess we have to wait for an official fix from Samsung.
I'm back on 4.3 . No problem with video, nfc etc. Battery is the same and I have Boeffla kernel
Hey guys,
From all the early feedback we've gotten from you about Remix OS Player, we've been able to fix two of the most reported bugs and have a new build for you to download. Here's what we've fixed:
Fixed most of the stuck at loading ("Patience is bitter. But its fruit is sweet.") issues
Fixed Play Store not being able to install apps
You'll know you have the latest one by the file name "Remix OS Player package - B2016091403".
IMPORTANT: Remix OS Player first boot will take several minutes. Subsequent boots will be much faster.
Is it possible to implement some kind of fake wifi connection so that apps that only work with wifi (Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5) can be used?

The Play Store now updates the pre-installed apps and enables new ones to be installed, but:
1. The apps are updated and installed very slowly. It seems like the player file system is running slowly or there is some other bottleneck.
2. The player seems a lot more sluggish too. Not as responsive.
3. While updating the apps in the Play Store, when one finishes the player goes back to the home screen and minimizes the Play Store app. If you maximize the Play Store app, it continues, but the same thing happens after the next app finishes updating.
4. The install of the Player also seemed to take a lot more time than the previous version.
Hope this helps.
UPDATE:
5. The player just hung on me while in Chrome at the Jide home page. Cursor is unresponsive and the OFF switch on the external control panel does not do anything.
UPDATE 2:
6. I killed the player and rebooted my host system. The player seems much faster now. The problem might have been a resource issue on the host. Hard to say for sure.
UPDATE 3:
7. Just installed the player on another host. Same behavior, so I doubt it was a host issue.
I don't know what is your harware but i don't have any problem with 2 years Asus laptop tp500
yea the video playback and chrome access are a lots slower than previous version...
it seems something is very wrong with the hard drive access.
the lack of open GL ES 3 support and the lack of full screen or game controller support or large HDD image or fake wifi is very worrying for a GAMING centred emulator you are claiming everywhere...
Ive searched quite a bit. Hopefully this hasn't been addressed before. Its an issue similar to when Oreo came to the V20 and the second screen.
When trying to use the floating bar, aod, etc the only option I have is the native music player (I've gotten rid of google play). I would like any music app I am using, like vlc or audible, to be able to be controlled from these interfaces.
Does anyone have any solutions? Im on US unlocked pie, btw.
